Bykovsky District ( Russian: Бы́ковский райо́н) is an administrative [1] district ( raion), one of the thirty-three in Volgograd Oblast, Russia. As a municipal division, it is incorporated as Bykovsky Municipal District. [7] It is located in the east of the oblast. The area of the district is 3,410 square kilometers (1,320 sq mi). [3] Its administrative center is the urban locality (a work settlement) of Bykovo. [2] Population: 27,055 ( 2010 Russian census); [4] 28,572 ( 2002 Census); [9] 27,151 ( 1989 Soviet census). [10] The population of Bykovo accounts for 28.5% of the district's total population. [4]
