Hello, I have been reading different Wikipedia policies for a while now, and it occurred to me that there might be a difference between a subject being notable and it having reliable sources. Is it the right understanding? if so, could we say about an influencer or any other subject, is notable, however, the lack reliable sources? The reason I am asking these questions, is there are many pages on Wikipedia, which have almost zero references, still they are in live space.
If the above understanding is correct, what should be done with such page?

Dear reader,
There is an article where I helped to build the page for my wife (backed by over 100 sources), I accidentally had ticked a box that I was paid, which I am not. I asked within talk if I could sent the person proof of not being paid and never got an answer. Now half a year later someone puts this disclaimer again above the article, ignoring that I can proof it within talk. Also my wife has been victim of activist groups that have tried to intimidate her for doing research on Indonesia, on such a level that the National History Association in the Netherlands issued a statement against them. It can very well be that the anonymous people who place the “UPE”tags are from this groups. As one of the persons on the talk page on the Dutch Wikipedia site of Anne-Lot Hoek also worked on the pages related to those activist groups. Who can help to get this tag removed (again)? I was involved in an AfD decision recently that I feel had emerging consensus around a Keep !vote but the closing admin chose instead to Merge. If anything, I think this was premature at least and that more !votes were coming in still in support of a keep of the page, and the merge view was in the minority and not soundly based on policy. How might I go about appealing this other than already posting on the closing admins talk page?
The AfD in question was very well supported by reliable sources that did absolutely distinguish between the term the page referred to and another similar term. Here is the link to the AfD that I would like to appeal merging of. Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Woke Mind Virus. I'm wondering if there's any sort of proper procedure to censor quotes.
I recently read an article ( WeatherStar) which contains a quote from an incident where a broadcast machine was tampered with. The quote contains a racial slur, and despite the MOS saying that quotes should always contain obscenities exactly as the quote was said, I can't help but think it's inappropriate to have the uncensored quote on a page where it really wouldn't be expected to see language like that. MilesPrower1992 ( talk) 19:45, 3 May 2024 (UTC)
the MOS saying that quotes should always contain obscenities exactly as the quote was said- The MOS reflects consensus, as at the time it was written. I really didn't expect to have to explain why I showed my friend an article including the hard R(particularly since there exists a stand-alone Wikipedia article about the slur in question), but you can also seek additional input from relevant WikiProjects if you like as long as you do so in accordance with WP:APPNOTE. There are no WikiProject banners listed at the top of that article's talk page, but perhaps some of the ones listed at the top of Talk:The Weather Channel would also apply to this article. -- Marchjuly ( talk) 20:29, 3 May 2024 (UTC)

Just to get it out of the way: I am not this individual nor do I know him, I found him through his level design work and found out about his musical work from this article.
The page is poorly sourced but given that:
1.) this individual was in two bands who have undisputed Wikipedia articles,
2.) other members in both bands have undisputed Wikipedia articles,
3.) this individual founded a software company making quake mods that were distributed physically by PC Gamer magazine (this company alone is probably notable)
4.) this individual composed the theme music to an official Valve title
5.) this individual created levels for another official Valve title, as well as having worked for multiple other game studios including some that the article does not mention
6.) this individual created music videos for Tesseract
I think removing the "may not meet notability" tag from 2015 should be uncontroversial. The article itself needs a lot of work, but I don't think the notability is in dispute at all. I'm not an experienced editor and I'd like a second opinion on this, because its hard to tell if the notability guidelines are met, but my intuition says the game work alone is notable. I do think the article lacks third party sources (partially because Valve did not credit its employees on Day of Defeat: Source for some reason), but I don't know if that needs to be fixed before the tag is removed. Hello! I am a brand new User, just starting to find my way around and needing guidance. Yesterday I substantially improved upon and added to this stub: Boniface Luykx, which was created in 2015. I intend to expand it into a real article with specific citations in the near future. My question: I knew Boniface Luykx, who has been deceased for 20 years, and edited some of his works. I need to disclose this potential conflict of interest, but I am not sure how or where to do so. Many thanks. Sister2022 ( talk) 16:35, 3 May 2024 (UTC)
I am not familiar with the process of an appeal, if there is one, but I do not think this particular decision accurately reflects the consensus that appeared as a result of the AfD. I'm currently working on an article on the game Mindustry. However, I need reliable sources to support the article. I don't have any trouble finding information on Mindustry, but what kind of information in the article should be cited? Do I just cite everything I see? Gaster2411 ( talk) 19:21, 3 May 2024 (UTC)
If you wish to propose a change to the MOS, do so on WT:MOS. But first please read WP:NOTCENSORED, then check that the same change has not been proposed in recent months.

Hello everyone!
I recently have been editing my grandmothers article on Wikipedia. I had to stop obviously because I learned I had a COI. We had to remove her birth dates because they didn't have a reliable ref. Is using a EFN OK and saying something along the lines of
Birth date August 21, 1965 (EFN) No reliable source but confirmed by family. (EFN)
Her name is Catherine Emihovich

What is the best or correct way to mention that someone's surname has changed in the body of an article? Here is the sentence I'm looking at, as it stands now: "Yoda was originally portrayed by a puppet created by Stuart Freeborn and Wendy Froud (née Midener)." Is this the best way to do it? Froud was credited as "Wendy Midener" in the credits of at least one of the Star Wars films. Wafflewombat ( talk) 00:57, 4 May 2024 (UTC)

I'm working on the Yoda page and I want to re-use a citation that is in the infobox. It's right after the words "Jedi Order". I'm using the visual editor, and when I click "Re-use" in the citation creator, the citation I want doesn't show up. Can someone tell me how to re-use that citation? Taiwanese politician Li Ao claimed in a TV program that Leslie Cheung committed suicide because he was suffering from AIDS, and said that he had "reliable sources". [1]
@ Ohfallingstar has been undoing this sentence on the page " Leslie Cheung", for its "disrespectful""gossip" though China News Service is a reliable source (see first undo, second undo' and third). As a conjecture on the cause of Leslie Cheung's death, I think it should stay on the page. What do you every wikipedians think?
(Extraneous remarks: According to this source, Li Ao has never connected AIDS with LGBTQ+. It seems that this wikipedian is a little worried.) SKBNK ( talk) 04:43, 4 May 2024 (UTC)

Much to complicated for me to manage. Is it possible that someone is solving the problems, to do it rihgt? It is an important piece of history. Worth to save it. It would be a relieve if it is picked up by a specialist who knows about it. Thanks in advance. MJJdeG ( talk) 09:32, 4 May 2024 (UTC)
Is it 'normal' to receive an email telling you you have vandalized a Wiki page and that you may be blocked if you do anything like that again, when the edit you made was helpful and useful and true? The email was rather rude. Thank you. Womble218 ( talk) 10:07, 4 May 2024 (UTC)
Hi, i am currently trying to make an article on the airline AirSeven, i made the article, submited it, and it ended up declined. IDK what is wrong, it says that there is too little references, but the Danish version has less references so why can the translation i made with info not get aproved? I have been editing MN 36 for a bit and I have found the law that established the highway - [2], that I want to use to replace the self-published source in the infobox and to cite the date in the history section. I'm not sure how to cite this, as I have looked on other pages but could not find a consistent example of what do do. NotDragonius ( talk) 20:21, 4 May 2024 (UTC)

So I've recreated the app icon for this article in Inkscape, but the white background ( seen here) isn't showing. I've tried several times, but each time I export it, the background is still transparent. TWOrantulaTM ( enter the web) 21:32, 4 May 2024 (UTC)
Hi! When you input coordinates in an infobox (for example for a building), it automatically generates a simple map of the location with a pin. Is there a way do this same process outside of an infobox? I'm working on an article on an event and it would make a lot of sense to have a map like this in the "Location" section. Thanks:) WikiFouf ( talk) 23:21, 4 May 2024 (UTC)
