I'm wholeheartedly shocked that this survived an AfD with a "redirect" verdict. While mentioned at the target page, for one there's another "Nathaniel Kong" mentioned at Mansfield Park (opera). Search engines only muddy the waters more, as the Nathaniel Kong that comes up the most was a victim in a Sacramento shooting which took place in 2022, and definitely not an actor with a minor role in an upcoming series. Perhaps what shocks me more was that, to me, it looked like the general consensus was to delete per Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Nathaniel Kong. The only argument made for redirection was the page author pleading "let's just redirect it to the show? and call it a day?", only to be told by the original nominator that doing so is a poor practice (which I concur with). At the end of the day, it'd be best to keep as a red link to encourage article creation, instead of pointing towards a location where questions about people with this name aren't particularly answered. No need to preserve the page name as a redirect months (or years, in some other instances) before it is needed. Utopes ( talk / cont) 23:57, 22 January 2024 (UTC) reply

@ Presidentman: For what it's worth, the subject is mentioned at the target page. My stance argues that the singular name-drop on the cast list is not enough to justify the redirect, as there are other people with this name on-and-off Wikipedia. Summing up an entire person as a redirect to a TV series is not helpful to people looking for encyclopedic information on this person, which we do not actually have, as it was recently confirmed by AfD that this person is not yet notable for a full article. Utopes ( talk / cont) 21:58, 23 January 2024 (UTC) reply
  • Delete per nom. I concur that this should've been deleted at AfD, considering how everyone supported deletion and only the author seemed to be against it. Target article only mentions the subject once without providing any further information. CycloneYoris talk! 09:00, 1 February 2024 (UTC) reply

  • delete Again, the issue here is metaphor: according to the OED, the earliest usage comes from John Donne, and in the one passage I found (discussing some idea in Tertullian and Jerome) literal nakedness is definitely not what is being discussed. Most of the time it seems to mean specifically "in the nude" concerning some activity—but then, it's the activity which matters here. If we must have some WL a cross-connection to wiktionary seems more appropriate, but really, I just don't see why it is important to try to second-guess why someone might search for this word. • Delete This was created by a since-blocked user who created mass amounts of grammatical variations as redirects. We even took the extraordinary attempt of creating a temporary speedy deletion criterion to clear them out. While the speedy deletion criterion has since been removed, it does not follow that any remaining redirects are valuable. Like many others, this is an unusual way for a user to seek out the topic. If they specifically search "Nudely", they are probably looking for a specific usage we don't have. -- BDD ( talk) 20:51, 24 January 2024 (UTC) reply

I would expect this to target Inca Empire, since "The Inca" in English usually refers to the civilization. I'm fine with El Inca pointing to the historical figure, though. Searching "the inca" -wikipedia, I was dismayed to see Google doesn't bother with pages of results anymore—but more to the point, all the results I found until a "More results" option appeared were about the civilization rather than this person. N.b., the Spanish Wikipedia doesn't have this term as a redirect. -- BDD ( talk) 15:28, 22 January 2024 (UTC) reply

Four letters which, what I presume to be, are an onomatopoeia for saying mkay / okay. Not mentioned at the target, but maybe could be salvaged? Probably not in its current state, as search engines solve the need for catchphrase look-ups, and unmentioned catchphrase redirects are rarely worth maintaining, if ever. The result of the discussion was speedy keep. Withdrawn, sigh. Besides the creation not being "obvious", there's some hints towards what this acronym is supposed to mean. (non-admin closure) Utopes ( talk / cont) 14:59, 22 January 2024 (UTC) reply

Created with the edit summary of "obvious redirect", but this acronym never shows up in the article's body. I can get the picture of it based on references that make use of this colloquial acronym in reference to this vehicle, but based on the contents of the article itself, this redirect's name and usefulness is unclear. Generally speaking, none of these redirects are mentioned at the target article. MyLearn, which shows up twice in these nominations, is nowhere to be found, and is the most unhelpful. Education is not mentioned either, but "training" is (although not in the correct context). Could possibly be logical due to the "Oracle" part, but this seems to be unmentioned offshoots that will leave searchers disappointed for a lack of context about these titles. While the target page may be about currency that IS physical, it's not about physical currency. People using this search term I feel would most likely be curious about the physicality of the currency, which is unfortunately not a topic covered at the target ("physical" is only mentioned once). Currently categorized in the "Internet memes" category, this title does not appear at the target article, nor is this meme ever referred to at the target article, or anywhere on Wikipedia for that matter (it would be seemingly inappropriate to do so at the general page of Toyota, but with no results anywhere, I can't imagine this redirect would be very helpful.) This is a T: PNR which was originally created by a Georgia Tech graduate, and pointed at "Template:WikiProject Georgia Tech". Was later involved in two no consensus discussions (at RfD and DRV) and later had its target hand-waved onto Template:WikiProject Technology in 2013. This PNR is now more or less unused, and probably wouldn't have been created with a WP Technology target in the first place. It's only one of two T: redirects that point towards Wikiproject header templates, templates that aren't particularly prone to changing because they're relegated only to talk pages. Does not seem like a title that needs to exist in mainspace, and is more reliably be reached via other means. Utopes ( talk / cont) 01:48, 22 January 2024 (UTC) reply

More or less the same exact name as the template it's intended to be a shortcut for. The target template has only been edited once since 2013 to close a br tag (left unclosed for 7 years of no edits prior to this fix). There doesn't seem to be a need to keep this T: PNR, especially as it's constructed in a way that it wouldn't be easily replicable and most people would find from other means by looking in the template mainspace, rather than banking on a T: redirect with a space and diffcaps. This template has had a "factual accuracy" template placed on it for the last 8 years. In any case, a template created for a 2016 meetup likely does not carry the need to maintain one of a very few number of T: pseudo-namespace redirects, as this title can be linked to on a number of more relevant pages if wanted. Utopes ( talk / cont) 01:27, 22 January 2024 (UTC) reply

T: pseudo-namespace redirects are regularly used within the DYK and ITN spaces, but all in all the number of such redirects are few and far between, and only exist for ease of navigation in situations where they are absolutely vital. A regular navbox for wiki-slang does not seem to be such a case of a template which desperately needs a T: redirect, as it's the exact same 9 characters as the navbox it's targeting. No need to occupy mainspace for this. Utopes ( talk / cont) 01:18, 22 January 2024 (UTC) reply

Delete. I agree with nom here. Writing [[T:WIKIFAUNA]] or {{tl|WikiFauna}} is a difference in one character and the "longer" one is much more clearer. Gonnym ( talk) 10:02, 22 January 2024 (UTC) reply

This is a T: PNR which was originally created by a Georgia Tech graduate, and pointed at "Template:WikiProject Georgia Tech".
