Absent some specific business connection, it seems a perfectly cromulent username. Done to get it off the books, if there is a business being represented, then they should be guided towards the
username policy and submit a further change. –

Reason: I am a staff member at the Wikimedia Foundation, working on the education program. My old username was created more than a year ago to facilitate my work on the
Public Policy Initiative. The account was necessary as my work (and the work of other members of my education team) requires that I make many edits in Wikipedia's project namespace (I do not use this account for making any edits to articles). The project is now transitioning from the "Public Policy Initiative" to the "
Global Education Program" (meaning we'll no longer just be working with U.S. public policy classes), and as such I would like to change my username to reflect this move away from being public-policy-focused. I will continue to use this account solely for the purpose of facilitating collaboration and development of content on Wikimedia pages related to the Global Education Program, mostly in the project namespace and user namespace. More information about the shift from Public Policy Initiative to Global Education Program is in this Wikimedia Foundation
blog post. I am fine with either the username Alin (WMF) or Alin (Global Ed) or Alin (Global Education).

Absent some specific business connection, it seems a perfectly cromulent username. Done to get it off the books, if there is a business being represented, then they should be guided towards the
username policy and submit a further change. –

Reason: I have successfully created/merged a SUL "Mrw"for other wiki projects - but somehow am blocked from now creating/merging a wikipedia login with that name, thus: created "Mrwms" to be changed/usurped to "Mrw" (has no edits). Apologies in advance: not sure where to make request.

Robot clerk note: The requested username is already registered; see Special:Listusers. However, as this requested account has made no edits, it meets the criteria for being usurped; if you wish to usurp it, please read and follow the process at
Wikipedia:Changing username/Usurpations. If you do not wish to usurp the username, please choose another name to be renamed to. --

Clerk note: Use of a company, organization, celebrity, or product name as a username is prohibited by the
username policy, but it doesn't seem this name belongs to a particular business. Could you provide some reasoning behind your choice of username, and whether you hold a
conflict of interest in the area you intend to contribute to? -

SwissBusiness Hello. I am a private individual. My area of interest is business and I live in the Ticino region of Switzerland. I intend to contribute to subject matter regarding business within the European economy, as is my area of expertise. I would also like to change my username because Swiss Business is the name of a publication and I do not want to be confused with it. Thanks for your assistance with this.
Done, after assurance. –

Reason: I have decided that I will change my username to this new one. I chose this current one when I was a child. I don't like this username. Please change it. I think that the new one would be a better choice for my username. I cancelled the previous request, because I forgot that I should have logged out. I even made some more edits, but it's okay now. You can now change my username. This time, I will log out and I won't login unless I will make some changes on this.

Do you own both accounts? And is there a reason you wouldn't want just "JCRules" (which seems to be available) - as that is your signature? If you own both accounts, you can just post from the "JCRulesJCRules" confirming you are ok with the swap and it can be done. –
xenotalk 01:26, 23 August 2011 (UTC)reply
Yes, I own both accounts. for this account, I am using my old email. And since JCRules is available, I guess the target username can be JCRules. That is my signature. I am ok with the swap and it can be done. It's Effed Up! 18:44, 23 August 2011 (UTC) — Preceding

Reason: I want to move to a global account, but there exists a Kornelis on de.wikipedia with a valid edit (and perhaps on ru.wikipedia as well) therefore Kornelis is not allowed. Note: I've been advised to rename all my accounts (en.wikipedia, en.wiktionary, nl.wikipedia, nl.wiktionary, maybe others) and been assured that I can merge them in that way without losing my edits - if that's incorrect, I'd like to know. Reason: Deleted article submission because it was listed as G8. The reason for such action remains unclear. I'm not sure whether the external links were properly verified, or if it was due to a redirect, or as a result of the minor edits. Submission process is cumbersome and time consuming. Kindly change username, as I wish to "vanish", so as to protect original username for privacy reasons (which also happens to be my email)
