From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This is a collection of discussions on the deletion of articles related to Sweden. It is one of many deletion lists coordinated by WikiProject Deletion sorting. Anyone can help maintain the list on this page.

Adding a new AfD discussion
Adding an AfD to this page does not add it to the main page at WP:AFD. Similarly, removing an AfD from this page does not remove it from the main page at WP:AFD. If you want to nominate an article for deletion, go through the process on that page before adding it to this page. To add a discussion to this page, follow these steps:
  1. Edit this page and add {{Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PageName}} to the top of the list. Replace "PageName" with the relevant article name, i.e. the one on the existing AFD discussion. Also, indicate the title of the article in the edit summary as it is particularly helpful to add a link to the article in the edit summary. When you save the page, the discussion will automatically appear.
  2. You should also tag the AfD by adding {{subst:delsort|Sweden|~~~~}} to it, which will inform editors that it has been listed here. You may place this tag above or below the nomination statement or at the end of the discussion thread.
Note that there are a few scripts and tools that can make this easier.
Removing a closed AfD discussion
Closed AfD discussions are automatically removed by a bot.
Other types of discussions
You can also add and remove links to other discussions ( prod, CfD, TfD etc.) related to Sweden.

Expanding on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Srbija FF, I don't see this low-level Swedish football club meeting GNG. The article contains some very obscure "accomplishments" supported by primary sources, but the history of the club would not attract any significant, independent coverage as they played on the eighth and ninth tier. Sources are predominantly interviews of the player or routine transfer news, and aren't suggestive of notability for this footballer. As far as I can ascertain, he has never played professionally – neither in Sweden nor in Italy (including Atalanta's under-23 team). I'm not opposed to draftification if there's potential for the subject to be notable in the near future. (I should also note that the previous AfD was about a different person, so is impertinent to this discussion.) Complex/ Rational 20:06, 29 May 2024 (UTC) reply

Nominated by an IP user: Non-notable group, going by available sources. Both with its current ("Supersci") and its former ("Superscientifiku") name, the group is mentioned on some Swedish websites, but with very few exceptions (e.g. Sundsvalls Tidning) either these sources are non-reliable, or the subject is mentioned only in passing. In 2011, their "Timelines" was nominated (again, did not win) at the sv:P3 Guld. Example sources, at Sveriges Television here, and at Sveriges Radio P3 here. -- 62.166.252.25 ( talk) 05:15, 25 May 2024 (UTC) reply
Keep, I've added three different sources that provide significant coverage. The article meets WP:GNG and WP:NMUSIC. AlexandraAVX ( talk) 16:04, 27 May 2024 (UTC) reply
Can’t check offline sources, but linked sources are not WP:SIGCOV.
  • 1st source: Are only sayings of connected ones of the subject, no in-depth coverage of the subject.
  • 4rth source: Nomination list of the award P3, I don’t know how much this award is notable. GrabUp - Talk 04:30, 30 May 2024 (UTC) reply
1st source: I see what you mean, though the offline sources are more independent of the subject.
4th source: The nomination doesn't confer notability, but I thought it was worth mentioning since it was brought up in the AfD. AlexandraAVX ( talk) 08:30, 30 May 2024 (UTC) reply
I found the third source (or at least an article about the same thing by the same author) online, so added it to the article if you want to take a look. AlexandraAVX ( talk) 09:13, 30 May 2024 (UTC) reply

Comment: Can somebody check Swedish media for notability? Given that the Swedish page for the article lacks sources, I'm doubtful, but it could breathe life into this article. -1ctinus📝 🗨 02:00, 15 May 2024 (UTC) reply

  • Keep. It's a tad difficult to get a good overview of sources from things released in 1999, since the archives tend to be less reliable. Nevertheless, this tour seems to have been one of the most signficant of the year. It got an award from one of the biggest Swedish newspapers, it was talked about as "the best tour" and so on. I've tried to expand the article: The singular focus on the album doesn't make sense to me, when the album was a product of an acclaimed tour. My access to sources of the time is not good enough to split them into two separate articles; they belong together. The article also lacked information about the band, which, yet again, might not work as well in a separate article, but should be briefly explained together with the tour and the album. I've expanded the article somewhat and added sources. / Julle ( talk) 09:29, 15 May 2024 (UTC) reply
  • Removed Finland from the deletion sorting. Seems to have been added my mistake instead of Sweden? Don't see the Finnish connection, but please undo my edit if I'm mistaken. / Julle ( talk) 09:31, 15 May 2024 (UTC) reply

Keep, there's quite some significant coverage of the tour, the article should probably be expanded to talk more about the tour/band as the main topic like Julle said, the album seems like it would work better as a section to that article. AlexandraAVX ( talk) 16:11, 27 May 2024 (UTC) reply
