OU WROTE “Lenape history information can be supported with WP:RS.” I can not find where or how “Lenape History” is supported by WP:RS. Please explain how I can find the “support.” The “Lenape History” I refer to is chapter 3 of the Walam Olum. Wikipedia says that there is “significant evidence that the document is a hoax.” I dispute that statement. Every word of the Walam Olum can be traced to an Old Norse word and its meaning. I contend the Lenape History as preserved in chapter 3 of the Walam Olum is valid. To prove it is a “Hoax” you need to show me several recorded words that are NOT traceable to Old Norse. Mydavidpaine ( talk) —Preceding undated comment added 21:00, 20 July 2019 (UTC) You wrote “American colonial history is not a myth because it exists.” I contend that American colonial history is a MYTH because the events that happened in the 17th century have been profoundly distorted. Many of the events have been left out. For example, tell me what happened at Jamestown in the years 1610 through 1614. I was not taught about the 300 fully armored men with the latest flintlocks, were you? I was not taught that those men pillaged 40 miles of the James river on both sides, were you. I was not taught that the church they captured in Henrico county had been built by Bishop Guppson, five centuries earlier, where you. I was not taught that Thomas Dale repeatedly raped Pocahotas, in that church, were you? I was taught that she married John Ralph. So were you. But I was not taught that she named her son for the father-Thomas. I was not taught that a fourteen cannon frigate full of those men sailed up the coast to in 1612 to destroy churches, were you? I was not taught that the people in those churches were Catholics, who spoke Norse, were you? We, you and I, were taught a MYTH where the facts of colonial America have be suppressd by omission. The professors teach the MYTH. Mydavidpaine ( talk) —Preceding undated comment added 21:27, 20 July 2019 (UTC)

I stick to copyediting on here & have questions concerning an article I'd like to edit. It's titled Chup! ,about a music album. Unfortunately, it's filled with so much personal bias, that most of the article needs either reworded or deleted. I'm still learning; thanks for your patience!
QUESTION 1) My edits will significantly change the content & size of this article; are there any steps I should take before I begin, like posting on the article or author's talk-page? (I've read about "good faith", but also about edit-wars). QUESTION 2) I'm unable to get Reference #1 link to work correctly. I don't know how to fix or remove it. Is it ok to fix everything else but leave a "broken-link" template behind? QUESTION 3) Because Reference #1 link doesn't work, I'll need another source to maintain the "3 source requirement". I'm not very familiar with what constitutes a reliable source --when it comes to music-- and was surprised to see that the source used for Reference #2 was just a music selling site called "CdBaby". Does this source actually count, and if so, do other music-selling sites count as well? QUESTION 4) When it comes to citing a source during or after a sentence, If the same source is used to create content in more than one paragraph, do I place multiple inline citations/footnotes, or just place one at the end of the section, like the author did?
When replying, if you can start each answer with QUESTION 1..,etc, it'll help me comprehend it better. (disabled body, abled heart :) Thanks! MinorEnglishMajor ( talk) 01:09, 22 July 2019 (UTC)

I consider this as a meta-issue and find it appropriate to discuss. Currently, I am in a discussion at Talk:Neymar. But that's not my issue here, RFC is the place to go for that. My problem is that why are these types of issues getting covered up so often? Certainly a sexual assault allegation is not the same as a football transfer rumor, isn't it? Maybe this is a result of gender gap of registered users? I am up for open discussions. Interested articles are also up at Wikipedia:Wikipedia Signpost, the latest edition. Hello, I am interested in adding to articles that have stubs within them, e.g. the plotline of a video game article being a stub. I've been working on and off to draft something to add to these sections. However, I'm not sure if I need to ask for these to be reviewed, since they'd be more substantial edits. Is it necessary or common practice to get large additions to articles reviewed? Thanks in advance. Bossjeff ( talk) 17:04, 22 July 2019 (UTC)

Talk:Book censorship in China I followed the instructions to apply the peer review tag but it didnt work and the purge button doesn't work either. I don't want to edit this page because its apparently very controversial. should it be protected since some editors dont like any content to be changed to some articles even if it's well referenced? It would be very helpful for editors to do this so other editors dont waste their time adding to it if it's a pet project. 49.198.7.235 ( talk) 04:53, 22 July 2019 (UTC)

Hello community,
I am a new member in Wikipedia community. I am currently drafting my first article. In general, I know how references work and are required for verification. But, I am skeptical as they are behind paywalls (for e.g. NYTimes). Is there any article on Wikipedia knowledge base around choosing such articles for references? If so, can one guide me to the article?
Thanks in advance. Adiosvr ( talk) 22:39, 22 July 2019 (UTC)

I have a lot of different subjects on my talk page? Is it okay to remove old subjects that have not been edited in a really long time? Billiekhalidfan ( talk) 00:10, 23 July 2019 (UTC)
@ Billiekhalidfan: My advice is to urge you to create an 'archive', as advised above. I can see that you're keen to contribute, but are probably also rather strong-willed? And this has led to some conflict and a few stern warnings on your talk page? I'm sure you'd like the older ones to be less visible, but I also see that one of our experienced admins ( Ad Orientem) has been trying to guide and support you. Right now, a few other editors seem to feel you're a bit of a 'loose cannon', but I'm sure that'll change once you come to appreciate how to listen and to work cooperatively with other editors. I advise against simply deleting, rather than archiving those early notices because (whilst allowed) it nevertheless makes me suspicious of an editor's motives and attitudes. An editor who blanks old problematic messages effectively invites me to look into their past editing, whilst also making me irritated that I have to waste a lot morr time delving into their past talk page interactions and warnings, rather than simply popping over to an archived sub-page. (If I have to leave warnings, or report an editor, I'm then far more likely to take a much sterner approach than if every past problem they had were clearly in view for me to understand. I'd be suspcious that theyre intentionally avoiding scrutiny, and I might then start looking for the reason. As you learn and improve as an editor, those embarassing old messages will be in you past, and something to proudly look back at and make you see how far you've come in learning to contribute and collaborate. I'm convinced you'll have a smoother ride if you archive, rather than blank them. Hope you find this informal bit of guidance of value. Regards, Nick Moyes ( talk) 04:38, 23 July 2019 (UTC)

Ok, I have added an archive. Thank you for your help! Billiekhalidfan ( talk) 12:23, 23 July 2019 (UTC)
Hello all you super helpful people! I have another question for you. While editing the myxomatosis page, I tried to add a website reference to creative-biolabs.com and got an error message that says "Your edit was not saved because it contains a new external link to a site registered on Wikipedia's blacklist.". Interested in why this website is blacklisted I followed the links to /info/en/?search=MediaWiki:Spam-blacklist but don't see the website listed there. I can leave the link out but am curious, why is it being blocked? Rabbit Vet ( talk) 16:40, 21 July 2019 (UTC)
