You made a lot of major changes to a stable article. It is reasonable to need to discuss them in Talk:Louisville, Kentucky. I will not discuss them here. Stevie is the man! TalkWork 13:44, 10 June 2016 (UTC)
The changes are not major. You may discuss them on the talk page. Reverting without explanation is not acceptable. 83.51.157.166 ( talk) 13:46, 10 June 2016 (UTC)
Not acceptable to you, you mean. The changes are basically your opinion about a number of them, and that's why you need to explain them. Stevie is the man! TalkWork 13:49, 10 June 2016 (UTC)

OK, I have made changes to the changes that I think were overwrought. As for the changes in total, it would been better to discuss them in the article's talk beforehand, because it's a somewhat stable article, and the opinions of other editors should be taken into account. For instance, the changes about the pronunciations, if they were discussed, might have turned up useful citations to back up what was there. But I went ahead and left your updates for now, because what was there wasn't properly cited anyway. Also, what is "original research" to one person may be obvious straightforward calculation to another. These are things that can be discussed and hopefully resolved in talk. Stevie is the man! Kentucky courthouses

Below is a message I left at Acdixon's talk page. Nyttend ( talk) 17:33, 25 June 2016 (UTC)

Perhaps you remember User:W.marsh from years ago; before he retired in 2008, he was active in writing about Kentucky topics. One of the pages he created was a chart of courthouses statewide, an attempt to find an image of each courthouse that was acceptable under our licensing terms, but since he retired several years ago, I ultimately moved it to my userspace.

Two recent trips to the Purchase allowed me to get photos for previously unillustrated courthouses in Carlisle, Crittenden, and Livingston counties, and with that, we have photos for all 120 courthouses. Do you know of any solid sources that provide information about all 120 courthouses? I recently created List of county courthouses in Illinois, and it would be nice to do the same thing for Kentucky, especially as Kentucky, unlike Illinois, has photos for all of them. However, while I own books from scholarly publishers that discuss all the courthouses for Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois, I've never seen such a thing for Kentucky (the only such book I've encountered, from 1988, is self-published), so I don't know where/how I'd get good sourcing, especially with all of the new justice centers being built in the 1990s and 2000s that obviously wouldn't appear in the 1988 book.

Your edit to Stephen Foster

I am discouraged to find that you don't believe that supplying more information on the Stephen Foster Archives in a template format is something that makes the article better. There is a section in the article itself that describes the collection and including a template that links to other possible sources of information is entirely appropriate. Best Regards,

Barbara (WVS) ( talk) 21:04, 13 August 2016 (UTC)
@ Barbara (WVS): There are plenty of linkages to the archives in the article. The navigation template applies to the archives, not Stephen Foster. In other words, Stephen Foster doesn't appear in that template. There's a guideline somewhere about that. Stevie is the man! TalkWork 21:16, 13 August 2016 (UTC)

Edward William Cornelius Humphrey nominated for deletion

Please take a look at the possible deletion of the article on Edward William Cornelius Humphrey and read my comments. Mitzi.humphrey ( talk) 16:05, 12 August 2016 (UTC)

As per your suggestion that I should contact the admin who deleted the article on Edward Cornelius Humphrey, probably confusing it with the Edward William Cornelius Humphrey article, I will do that today. Mitzi.humphrey ( talk) 15:04, 14 August 2016 (UTC).... Now I have written another request section to the talk page of the deletor, who I had not realized had already replied to my earlier request section for his/her reversion of his/her deletion of Edward Cornelius Humphrey. It appears that I am partly responsible for the confusion, and so far the deletor has not complied with the request. Mitzi.humphrey ( talk) 16:59, 14 August 2016 (UTC)

Extensive corrections and reference additions have been made since the first deletion discussion for Edward William Cornelius Humphrey. Jim Cornette World Championship Wrestling 1993

Hi, I am the one who made the World Championship Wrestling 1993 article on Jim Cornette. First I would like to say thank you for correcting my writing errors. About your template: It said there were no sources, but it did have one source, and I have now left five new sources. Also I realize it was very long, But I don't know how else I could have done it, since it needs to be described in detail. A long article isn't necessarily a bad thing. Jamie Eads - Notability Issues

Steve, I am new to Wiki and want to understand how I can make my page (Jamie Eads) better. I believe that I meet the notability guidelines, but don't quite know how to make it all work. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Speady1 ( talkcontribs) 21:23, 30 August 2016 (UTC)

@ Speady1: First of all, creating and editing one's own article is generally frowned upon, per WP:COI. Beyond that, notability is generally established by weighty coverage by secondary, reliable sources, per WP:N. Are there any news/magazine articles for instance, that provide a significant discussion about Jamie Eads? At this point, I am unsure the article will pass an Articles for Deletion review. 1800s heading (vs 19th century)

Could you please explain why " this is incorrect - we do not present centuries in this manner"? Thanks. -- M2545 ( talk) 14:06, 18 September 2016 (UTC)

"1900s" for instance, can lead to confusion with the 1900s decade. At any rate, I have just adjusted the years to the correct centuries. Stevie is the man! TalkWork 14:10, 18 September 2016 (UTC)
But according to Wikipedia, 19th century ended 31 December 1900. So "1800s" heading is more accurate and consistent. -- M2545 ( talk) 14:20, 18 September 2016 (UTC)
Again, there is potential for confusion between that presentation and a decade. I have adjusted the years to fit into their correct centuries. Stevie is the man! TalkWork 14:23, 18 September 2016 (UTC)
Since we disagree at present, why not put the matter up for wider debate before continuing your edits? -- M2545 ( talk) 14:31, 18 September 2016 (UTC)
Also, the revised, accurate, heading could be "1800-1899" and subheadings "1800-1850" and so forth. -- M2545 ( talk) 14:34, 18 September 2016 (UTC)
There is no disagreement that I can tell. I already knew the fact that the 19th century ended 31 December 1900, and so forth. So, I have made adjustments to particular years to correct that. I see no hard reason to change it away from its established headings. "1800-1899" is an editorialized period rather than an actual named century. Stevie is the man! TalkWork 14:37, 18 September 2016 (UTC)
I think it is more confusing to readers to have the year 1900 in the "19th century". We do disagree. Please stop editing until more opinions are gathered. -- M2545 ( talk) 14:41, 18 September 2016 (UTC)
The original headings were changed by yourself, so I would ask you to not change them again until "more opinions are gathered". Please do gather more opinions, although this seems a bit ridiculous to pursue as the article is now correct. Stevie is the man! TalkWork 14:44, 18 September 2016 (UTC)

However, you are obliged to explain yourself if you undo them. So, please explain what exactly you object to, with reference to the appropriate policies and guidelines. 83.51.157.166 ( talk) 13:42, 10 June 2016 (UTC)

FWIW

Thanks for your vandal patrolling. I suspect that this vandal was originally this vandal because of their penchant for editing similar articles with similar vandalism. I think we need to keep our eyes open for this one to reappear, I'm kind of wondering if this could even be a sockpuppet of some other previous trouble editors. Montanabw (talk) 21:36, 25 July 2016 (UTC)

Per [96] I think that we probably need to just do a WP:DFTT and wait for the talk page to be blocked too. Montanabw (talk) 19:48, 29 July 2016 (UTC)

Robert Fox

Thanks for keeping an eye on the Robert Fox article. I stumbled across it when doing research on other streetcar integration cases, and decided to fix it up. I am working my way through a copyvio rewrite and adding new info and refs so haven't done the last section yet, but will get to it in the next few days. ABF99 ( talk) 15:05, 28 July 2016 (UTC)

I think the copyvio and ref tags can probably be removed now. ABF99 ( talk) 15:21, 30 July 2016 (UTC)

Ali Marciano Superfight

Hi,

Just to say I appreciate your removal of my latest addition to Muhammad Ali's page on the Superfight with Rocky Marciano, however I have re-pasted the sentences with better links. I don't believe this to be trivial and Ali's feedback should be posted.

I left the 'removal of repeated words,' alone.

Please discuss with me before removing the addition. Please allow 1 day for me to respond as I may not see it immediately.

Thanks

Many of the changes answer questions about the notability of E.W.C. which arose during the original deletion discussion. Mitzi.humphrey ( talk) 15:04, 14 August 2016 (UTC)

How long are you going to keep your template above it? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Davidgoodheart ( talkcontribs) 00:30, 25 August 2016 (UTC)

Jim Cornette World Championship Wrestling 1993

Hi, Now that I have removed a fair amount of excessive information from Jim Cornette World Championship Wrestling 1993 article, I would like to remove the template about it. Please let me know what you think. Davidgoodheart 00:48, 25 August 2016 (UTC)

@ Davidgoodheart: I think the section is still too meticulous (I see more recent copyediting than content reduction), but I have also noticed other sections of the article are too, so I moved the tag to the top. Stevie is the man! TalkWork 11:42, 27 August 2016 (UTC)

@ Risingsinger: Because as I stated in the edit summary, too much of the material was not cited.

Requests for wider discussion are now posted on talk pages of Project Time and Timeline of Louisville. -- M2545 ( talk) 16:28, 18 September 2016 (UTC)
