I agree that Evangelical is a horrible translation of "evangelisch", but Evangelical Lutheran is worse, because in Germany, many are United. I prefer Protestant. However, the German church gave itself the misleading English name, - what can we do? If you have too much time study the many futile discussions on the article talk. Thank you for this. I think it's sorted. The problem arose because I had used slightly altered (not copypaste) material from another Wikipedia article, Polish Hunting Dog which turned out to have an extant copyright violation in its History section, not picked up since 2007! Obviously, I had no idea it was so. I explained this to who told me about "rollback" which had resulted in the reverting of all the many edits that followed. I have re-edited the "offending" section and reverted the revert. I have left it to User:Sphilbrick to deal with the old violation in the dog article. In relation to historic states in the Holy Roman Empire, there are a number of articles titled, e.g. Margravate of Meissen and then others titled, e,g. Margraviate of Brandenburg. The OED lists "Margravate" as the territory ruled by a Margrave. This is the historical and primary form in English of the German translation. If there is already an established word, Margravate, is it not confusing to introduce another expression, "Margraviate" for the same territorial definition by adding an "i", making it a secondary form? Moreover, in the case of Brandenburg, there is a map that refers to the "Margravate of Brandenburg", even though the article is called as above. The secondary form appears to stem from the adjective, "Margravial" and seems to be an unnecessary Neologism.

Hello CASSIOPEIA, thank you for your appraisal. Another editor has moved the piece into the mainspace. His view is that "List of people from Kresy" would not be correct in this context. However, there is a case for creating a category with that title. I do not know how to do that. The advantage of the category would be that, as long as it was confined to pre-1945, it could assemble members of all the diverse communities that inhabited the macro region. The article could do with inline citations at the end of every sentence–I've put in a name for the JAP reference to facilitate that. I've also moved the bibliography above the reflist, in case someone wants to add references into the bibliography section. As she appears to have been sometimes known as "Rosemary Gordon‐Montagnon" post-marriage, I've put that in the body text and as a redirect in case anyone's searching for it. I've added a tag to J. W. T. Redfearn regarding tone: it reads a bit too laudatory and familiar, when it should be dispassionate and neutral ("proud Yorkshireman" and "profound struggle" are subjective). It reads like an article written by friends and colleagues of Redfearn: I suggest paring back reliance on obituaries, and extracting just the facts, not the chummy tone. When you create a new article, can you add the WikiProject assessment templates to the talk of that article? See the talk page of the article I mentioned for an example of what I mean. Usually it is very simple, you just add something like {{WikiProject Keyword}} to the article's talk, with keyword replaced by the associated WikiProject (ex. if it's a biography article, you would use WikiProject Biography; if it's a United States article, you would use WikiProject United States, and so on). You do not have to rate the article if you do not want to, others will do it eventually. Those templates are very useful, as they bring the articles to a WikiProject attention, and allow them to start tracking the articles through Wikipedia:Article alerts and other tools. For example, WikiProject Poland relies on such templates to generate listings such as Article Alerts, Popular Pages, Quality and Importance Matrix and the Cleanup Listing. The Weld family article before you edited it had several people named Weld with no clear connection to the Boston Welds. Rather than try to rationalize the article by putting them in chronological order, I think it makes much more sense to remove them entirely. Hello Macrakis ( talk), I tend to agree with you. Apart from the huge glitch dealt by site maintenance, the article was already higgledy piggledy, with a tinge of self-promotion from the English Weld side. The original Welds, as I put in the lead, are an English family going back to the Duke of Mercia (12th c.) and the American Welds are obviously descended from them, but we don't know precisely how, as one editor put it, unless a 16th c. genealogy comes to light. What we know is that the Boston Welds were probably Protestant and the English Welds, mainly Catholic. The Irish Welds came back from America and then on back to England, but they are still Protestants. Essentially, there are two sets of Welds. If you check the left margin links on your article, there is an option toward the bottom which says "Upload file." If you click that you can then select "Upload a non-free file -- Uploads locally to Wikipedia; must comply with the non-free content criteria" and that will walk you through the process.
