The Wikipedia community has permitted administrators to impose discretionary sanctions on any editor who is active on any page about social groups, explicitly including caste associations and political parties, related to India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal. Discretionary sanctions can be used against an editor who repeatedly or seriously fails to adhere to the purpose of Wikipedia, any expected standards of behavior, or any normal editorial process. If you engage in further inappropriate behavior in this area, you may be placed under sanctions, which can include blocks, a revert limitation, or a topic ban. The discussion leading to the imposition of these sanctions can be read here.

Please familiarise yourself with the information page at Wikipedia:General sanctions/South Asian social groups.

Questionable source

Hello Nikhil.joshi.d. With this edit you added a copy of a diagram located on Google Drive. This has to qualify as Self published. See WP:Reliable source for what Wikipedia's sourcing requirements are. Thank you, EdJohnston ( talk) 17:16, 16 June 2017 (UTC) reply

@ EdJohnston: I agree but the diagram isn't of my own making, if you want I can send forward the contact of the prof. McDonald who is running that project, you can confirm it from him. Moreover autosomal analysis is only a part of the comment.

The major news/information part was the founding of R1b* DNA on a Madhyandin Brahman, and H* on mtDna, and that is public information from a public sample. I am not sure why there should be any objections for that ? Nikhil.joshi.d ( talk) 20:00, 17 June 2017 (UTC) reply

It has been pointed out to you that editors don't like genetic analysis in individual caste articles. Not only do you want to add such analysis, but you also don't understand that linking to a self-published project is unacceptable. If you can't figure out how to deal with our rules, admins have the ability to ban you from caste articles. Thank you, EdJohnston ( talk) 20:25, 17 June 2017 (UTC) reply
@ EdJohnston: I don't know who told you that I was putting links on "self published" projects. Whoever did that is the person you should think hard about if they are being given admin rights. The link I mentioned is : https://www.familytreedna.com/public/R1bBasalSubclades?iframe=yresults This link is MOST DEFINITELY NOT SELF PUBLISHED PROJECT.
@ EdJohnston: I am going to make a few more changes to that article, and I have added this request in the Talk section. If you look at how things unfold there, I am pretty sure you'd know that atleast one of the admins/editors? of that page is having some type of agenda.

Fake edit summaries

Fake edit summaries such as this are going to land you in a lot of bother. You are already aware of the sanctions regime that exists for articles of this type, being notified last June. Am I really going to have to issue the same notice again on the exact anniversary just to ensure that you cannot continue your long-standing, if intermittent, disruption? - Sitush ( talk) 17:50, 15 May 2018 (UTC) reply

Sitush What exactly is fake about it ?
Thats it I am going to moderators. There is nothing fake about saying that Deshasthas are not the same ethnic people as andhrapradesh brahmins, or madhawa brahmans. And it was definitely an unsourced article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nikhil.joshi.d ( talkcontribs) 20:00, 15 May 2018 (UTC) reply
You said it was unsourced when in fact the first few sentences of the paragraph you removed certainly did have sources. - Sitush ( talk) 18:16, 15 May 2018 (UTC) reply
SitushThe only sources it has are articles to Madhwa Brahmans and Smartha Brahman. How is that a "reference" ? Your recent editing history at Deshastha Brahmin shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. Sitush ( talk) 03:34, 16 May 2018 (UTC) reply

Sure lets go to moderators, I have enough evidences of your crafty agenda driven behavior.-- Nikhil.joshi.d ( talk) 03:37, 16 May 2018 (UTC) reply
No, you do not understand. You have already exceeded 3RR and you have done so despite discussions & apparent presence of sources. Unless you revert then you will be sanctioned. It is not negotiable. - Sitush ( talk) 03:43, 16 May 2018 (UTC) reply

Notice that you are now subject to a community enforced topic ban

For Continued disruption over years with an inability to edit collaboratively despite multiple alerts and attempts to communicate, constant reverts with an "only I am right" attitude, sockpuppetry using IPs to continue the same agenda, I have decided, in my capacity as an uninvolved administrator under the terms of this community discussion, to impose the following sanction on you:

indefinitely topic banned from any edits pertaining to castes and social groups of South Asia across any and all name spaces of the English Wikipedia

This sanction has been logged at Wikipedia:General sanctions/South Asian social groups. If the sanction includes a ban, please read the banning policy to ensure you understand what this means. If you do not comply with this sanction, you may be blocked for an extended period, by way of enforcement of this sanction—and you may also be made subject to further sanctions.

You may appeal this sanction to the community at the administrators' noticeboard. You may also appeal directly to me on my talk page, before or instead of appealing to the noticeboard. Even if you appeal this sanction, you remain bound by it until you are notified by an uninvolved administrator that the appeal has been successful. You are also free to contact me on my talk page if anything of the above is unclear to you. — Spaceman Spiff 03:47, 16 May 2018 (UTC) reply
