Re: Twelve Gauge Valentine

Hello! I requested userfication of the Twelve Gauge Valentine, and I see you have found the usercopy; I have not moved it to mainspace. I thought it used to have more references in it, but I was mistaken. I took a look around and found several resources which might be helpful to restoring the page, though I am not certain I will do so myself; the band only put out one album, which didn't chart, and the page has already had two AfDs, which means the battle would be uphill (prejudice is against you). I found a band biography on Allmusic, album review, album review, album review, album review, and Alternative Press covering their breakup. That's decent, but it might not be enough to convince the red-tape machine of DRV that the article should be restored. Would you like me to move the page to your userspace, if you are going to do more work on it? Chubbles ( talk) 02:27, 4 March 2015 (UTC) reply

Yes, that would be nice. Thank you! Metalworker14 ( talk) 8:34, 4 March 2015 (UTC)

March 2015

Hi there, I'm Serge, and admin here on Wikipedia. I don't mean to be rude or anything, but do you think maybe it would be a good idea to slow down and learn a little bit more about Wikipedia before making so many articles? I've noticed a lot of your article are being nominated for deletion or redirected.

I think you basically just need to start writing article using more third party reliable sources in order to make sure that the topic meets the WP:GNG. I think some of the article you've created, like for instance, Ghost Thief (album), are notable, however, the way you're writing them, makes them appear like they're not. You really should try to have at least 4 to 5 sources present when creating an article. And you really should add a few paragraph's of content in - it's generally frowned upon to create album article's that have nothing but a track listing. Creating a reception section, outline reviews for an album, for instance, is a good way to prove that it's worthy of having its own article.

  • For a list of commonly used sources that are generally considered reliable, see WP:ALBUM/SOURCES.
  • For extra help on using references, see WP:REFB.
  • For ideas on how to typically write albums type articles, see WP:MOS-ALBUM.

I don't mean to offend or scare you away, I just don't want your work to be wasted on efforts that just keep getting eliminated. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks. Sergecross73 msg me 13:49, 6 March 2015 (UTC) reply

No problem. As I said here, I don't agree with the nomination, I think he's off base, but if you are just a little more thorough with your articles, you'd be able to eliminate these misunderstandings altogether, you know? Let me know if you need help. Sergecross73 msg me 14:11, 6 March 2015 (UTC) reply

Re: Ghost Thief

That other editor was not supposed to do that. I'll monitor the page to make sure it won't happen again. Thanks. Sergecross73 msg me 23:16, 15 March 2015 (UTC) reply

Question

Hello Metalworker14. You have been reported at WP:AIV once again for adding made-up information and information that goes against an official source. What do you have to say about these claims? Widr ( talk) 06:18, 12 May 2016 (UTC) reply

Widr it is nice to meet you. Let me ask which article that I have been reporting of making information up on? I would love to know before I give you a reason. Metalworker ( Yo) 07:44, 12 May 2016 (UTC) reply

Please look at the link I gave you. The report is still there. Widr ( talk) 11:47, 12 May 2016 (UTC) reply

Widr the user that reported me seems to have a problem with me as he has reported me on several occasions and has sent me messages saying essentially "that I never should have became an editor". As for the false information, I believe the issue is about a member returning to the band, of which, the bands article stated he was back in the band. Metalworker14 ( Yo) 09:43, 12 May 2016 (UTC) reply

Torn (band)

They are 100 percent notable per Cross Rhythms magazine review, HM Magazine review, and The Phantom Tollbooth review, plus they are in an encyclopedia showing tertiary source coverage for the band, making them even more notable. You must start citing sources to prove notability, where you are expecting others' to deem stuff encyclopedic by osmosis of their recollection. You are doing excellent work with regards to an article such as Righteous Vendetta. The Cross Bearer ( talk | contribs) 08:17, 7 February 2017 (UTC) reply

Gryp

This is a notable group, where they have received coverage in The Phantom Tollbooth for Real EP, The Phantom Tollbooth two reviews for Indecision album, Cross Rhythms Magazine review for Indecision album, HM Magazine review for Indecision album, Two reviews for s/t album from HM Magazine where I found one here, and Cross Rhythms review of EP I Wanna Be God. They had two stories written about them in HM Magazine, and tertiary source with coverage in The Encyclopedia of Contemporary Christian Music, showing even more notability. Replaceable fair use File:Vengeance Rising.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Vengeance Rising.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{ Di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Majora ( talk) 02:32, 17 October 2017 (UTC) reply

  • Walter Görlitz, the article does not fail WP:GNG, there are two sources in the page that cover only him and his project that he formed, both reliable sources. He received significant coverage once becoming the fill-in drummer for The Devil Wears Prada, while not covering him exclusively, he was covered nonetheless. Each source provided is a reliable source. There are interviews out there, featuring him, however, many are YouTube uploaded video interviews and not considered reliable sources (despite them pertaining to the subject matter), which is why they are not included. --Metalworker14 (Yo) 04:12, 4 October 2018 (UTC) reply

Problem with your custom signature

You have a custom signature set in your account preferences. A change to Wikipedia's software has made your current custom signature incompatible with the software.

The problem: Your preferences are set to interpret your custom signature as wikitext. However, your current custom signature does not contain any wikitext.

The solutions: You can reset your signature to the default, or you can fix your signature.

Solution 1: Reset your signature to the default:
  1. Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
  2. Uncheck the box (☑︎→☐) that says "Treat the above as wiki markup."
  3. Remove anything in the Signature: text box. (It might already be empty.)
  4. Click the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the page. (The red "Restore all default settings" button will reset all of your preference settings, not just the signature.)
Solution 2: Fix your custom signature:
  1. Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
  2. Uncheck the box (☑︎→☐) that says "Treat the above as wiki markup."
  3. Click the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the page.

More information about custom signatures is available at Wikipedia:Signatures#Customizing how everyone sees your signature. If you have followed these instructions and still want help, please leave a message at Wikipedia talk:Signatures. 19:04, 3 September 2020 (UTC)

You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

@ User:WikiMacaroons, there was no copying of anything from any sight aside from Today Is the Day's Wikipedia page, which Underoath's page of band members also does. The source you have linked literally states that their information comes from Wikipedia. Thank you for deleting a page without quick notice and one that actually used information from Wikipedia to begin with. That was sarcasm, in case that was not clear. - User:Metalworker14 ( talk) 09:28, 23 September 2020 (UTC) reply
Sorry about that, Metalworker. Made a bit of a careless mistake, sarcasm was justified. Contacted the deleting admin who has restored the page. Will be more careful in future. Again, sorry. Wiki Macaroons Cinnamon? 18:59, 24 September 2020 (UTC) reply

Continued addition of poorly sourced content and incorrect formatting

As has been mentioned multiple times, you're adding poorly sourced content yet again. I think you missed WP:THEBAND. What that means is that we write the Crucified not The Crucified for that band's name, unless it is is at the start of a sentence. Also, if you're writing a biography about a person, do not add content about the rest of the band or other players to puff it out. Focus on the subject of the article. New Zao release

Are you familiar with WP:NOTNEWS? Just because the band is notable and they have announced that a new album is pending, we not need to write about it. Period. Also, date formatting and other problems with your edit. While some of your edits have gotten better, they still require a lot of maintenance. I do understand that Wikipedia is not a newspaper. However, why would you not want to update the page with the most current and relevant information pertaining to the band. Notice

The article Jeremiah Scott has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Aside from the two WP:ROUTINE pieces on the subject joining Demon Hunter (their press team should be lauded for their work on that) the subject has not received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject. Despite having worked in some capacity with multiple bands, the subject has still not garnered coverage. Fails WP:MUSICBIO and certainly WP:GNG.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Nomination for deletion of Template:Final Surrender

Template:Final Surrender has been nominated for deletion. You are invited to comment on the discussion at the template's entry on the Templates for discussion page. Aspects ( talk) 03:26, 11 September 2018 (UTC) reply

Notice

The article Giuseppe Capolupo has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Only one of the references discuss the subject at length. Fails WP:GNG and is a non-notable member or possibly session or touring musician in multiple marginally notable bands.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Walter Görlitz ( talk) 05:00, 3 October 2018 (UTC) reply

A tag has been placed on List of Today Is the Day members requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://www.bbc.co.uk/music/artists/c5790c27-5808-42a2-b409-5395b56c209f. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist.
