Hello. For John Francis Winslow, do you have a reliable source documenting the middle name Francis? Most contemporary biographies and sources appear to call him simply "John Winslow", and thus Wikipedia should probably follow suit per WP:COMMONNAME, and to avoid possibly perpetuating errors. Cheers, --Animalparty! ( talk) 03:40, 13 August 2023 (UTC) reply

This was a while ago so I'm not sure, but I must have gotten the name from https://ancestors.familysearch.org/en/KHB8-6N1/john-francis-winslow-1802-1875. That does not list any source for the middle name, though, so it'd probably be best to remove his middle name. Lallint 17:37, 13 August 2023 (UTC) reply

DYK for Bradley Winslow

On 18 August 2023, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Bradley Winslow, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Colonel Bradley Winslow (pictured) was brevetted by US president Abraham Lincoln for "brave and gallant conduct" during the siege of Petersburg in the American Civil War? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Bradley Winslow. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page ( here's how, Bradley Winslow), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Bradley Winslow

Hello - As info, I did a quick look at the Bradley Winslow page and Battle of Cedar Mountain. I think the source on Winslow's page is actually page 203 instead of 202 for Cedar Mountain. Also, I don't think you can say he fought in the battle. He got there in time to assist in the retreat according to the source. Is he (or his regiment) in the Cedar Mountain Union order of battle? I could not find him. TwoScars ( talk) 17:12, 4 October 2023 (UTC) reply

@ TwoScars I've changed it using the source. Lallint 23:00, 4 October 2023 (UTC) reply

Your GA nomination of Bradley Winslow

The article Bradley Winslow you nominated as a good article has passed ; see Talk:Bradley Winslow for comments about the article, and Talk:Bradley Winslow/GA1 for the nomination. Well done! If the article has never appeared on the Main Page as a "Did you know" item, and has not appeared within the last year either as "Today's featured article", or as a bold link under "In the news" or in the "On this day" prose section, you can nominate it within the next seven days to appear at DYK. Notice

The file File:Sample of Feel Good Inc by Gorillaz.oga has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Nothing in this audio sample indicates or proves why omitting this sample detriments the understanding of the article subject, i.e. the whole song. In other words, not contextually significant to the subject (of discussion).

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
