David, I saw that you changed my little dashes to a "proper dash" that was longer. This may seem the dumbest question, but what keystroke are you using to get that longer dash? Also, one of your edits you referenced WP:FASH which is the fashion page and may have been a mistake. StarHOG ( talk) 23:05, 2 January 2015 (UTC)

This case is long and complicated, and looking at all the statements and evidence posts this is an unenviable possition to be in. Which makes this question that much more awkward: Though the time to submit evidence has obviously already elapsed, could evidence that *couldn't possibly* have been submitted at the time because it was only known to be applicable after the fact?

My example would be the fact that it was only this week that the NorthBySouthBaranof admitted that he was the previous Wikipedia users FCYTravis and Polarscribe, and he was previously rebuked by admins on Wikipedia for edit warring, abuse of admin tools, article ownership, uncivil bahior, and sockpuppeting, and this could give important context to his actions in this case: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Bureaucrats'_noticeboard/Archive_25#Resysopping

I don't know who is available in what timeframe, so hopefully one of you guys is available to get back to me soon.

Oh wait. Arbitrators with heavy personal bias (you know who) and banning people who point it out. Of course, I don't expect to be an exception to that. Hi David. On the Star Trek matter, I left a note on the ANI thread. I'm just popping by here because I left several pings in that edit and I wasn't sure if all those I pinged got the pings. No worries if you did get it, but there are several pings I should follow up from a while ago that I got no answer to if there is some problem with pings. About Star Trek and academic papers and books, do they get used much in Wikipedia articles? I may start getting into that, but wanted to check before I went overboard on that... Thanks. I seem to be having this conversation in two places... See what I said here. As I said there, maybe later. I have far less books on Star Trek than Tolkien, but some of those academic ones piqued my interest. Though quite how seriously the fans take the academic musings, I have no idea. I found the bit referring to a master–slave dialectic quite amusing. I somehow doubt the script-writer was thinking of that, though apparently the script-writer for " Who Mourns for Adonais?" was indeed drawing on a classical education. A discussion is taking place as to whether the article BitGamer is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

You might want to take a gander at the Gene Roddenberry article at some point. Because of those sources I found on OpenLibrary, I decided to start some expansion work on the article with the objective of taking it first through GA and then up to FA (it'll certainly be long enough). Over the last two days, I've already added 30k of information and haven't even started on his professional writing career yet. It's gonna end up being the same length as Abraham Lincoln I fear. I've got a bunch of sources to use, so I intend to work through them one at a time - so far I've been using the official biography, but OpenLibrary has an unofficial one as well which I'll get to.

I'll be bugging you in the future to proof read it before I take it to GA I'm sure, but that won't be for a couple of weeks at the current pace. It's certainly the longest Wiki article I've ever taken on, but it threw open some interesting bits about his life - like I never knew he survived three plane crashes while he was a pilot. So it looks like " Space Seed" should pass the FA nomination shortly - it hasn't got anything outstanding to do, and now has four supports. So the question is, what should the next project be? I'd prefer to stick to the first season as I've got that copy of These Are The Voyages, but not the volumes for the second and third season. I was working on Gene Roddenberry but I've taken a break from that for the time being. Now while " Where No Man Has Gone Before" is in a bit of a sorry state, it at least is at GA because it met the standards back in 2007. It needs an overhaul though.

But I'm thinking either " Mudd's Women", " Balance of Terror", " The Squire of Gothos", " Arena" or " The Devil in the Dark". What do you think? Any preferences? Miyagawa ( talk) 20:26, 10 April 2015 (UTC)

Well, I'd like to try and get back on the movie horse and work more on Star Trek Generations, since that's halfway to being a decent article and I've got a Highbeam account to dig up some old newspaper reception for it. I've also got some video game articles I want to spruce up. But if there's another solid first-season ep you want to work on I can try and offer some time. I'm not sure what's going to have anywhere as much info as "Space Seed"—probably the obvious target is " The City on the Edge of Forever". Spock does sound like a tempting target! Certainly I found a fair bit of information in the Roddenberry biography about the issues that they had with Nimoy once it became clear that he was more popular. Heck, even at one point Roddenberry wrote to Isaac Asimov for advice about how to make Kirk as popular as Spock. I feel that we could take it to GA, but I wouldn't be confident about taking it to FA without access to Nimoy's two Spock related biographies. I'll take a look to see if I can help on the Generations front as well. Miyagawa ( talk) 11:19, 13 April 2015 (UTC)
