Your rollback request

Hello Corruptcopper, I have granted your account rollback in accordance with your request. Please remember that rollback is for reverting vandalism/spam, and that misuse of the tool, either by revert-warring with other users, or simply reverting edits you disagree with, can lead to it being removed. For practice, you may wish to see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback.

In addition, I noticed that you currently don't have many edits, but at the same time, the vandalism-reverting that you did was good. Remember, if you find edit edit that needs reverting, but think that using rollback to revert it would be inappopriate, then don't revert it with rollback. Good luck. Don't worry, just take it a little slower until you get used to the tool. It would also be courteous if you removed the warning on the IP's talk page (or left them a note retracting it). Keep up the effort! Gail ( talk) 20:18, 5 January 2009 (UTC) reply

Looks like you're doing a good job so far, particularly in terms of vandal-fighting. However, you only about 900 contributions; while edit count isn't everything, candidates rarely pass RfA with fewer than 5,000 or so. So for the moment, I think admin coaching would be a good idea. Use of ROLLBACK

Hi,

Please only use rollback for cases of blatant vandalism or blatant BLP violations. This edit was not an appropriate use of ROLLBACK. If you want to use HUGGLE to revert edits like that, please use the build in edit summary features to do so. Thanks. Protonk ( talk) 19:31, 17 August 2009 (UTC) reply

Removed ROLLBACK

I've removed rollback privileges from this account. After it is clear that you understand the related procedures you can reapply at WP:PERM or from any admin, provided you inform them that your privileges were revoked previously. I'm sorry to have to do this. Protonk ( talk) 19:51, 17 August 2009 (UTC) reply

Restored Rollback

Hello! I found your page by accident and reviewed the situation at hand. Please be advised that I have restored your rollback rights -- your rights were removed without any appropriate warning of a potential problem, which I find to be an unfair punishment. That being said, please be aware that there has already been a concern raised on your use of rollback, and it is possible that these rights can be removed if the earlier situation is repeated. Thank you and be careful in your editing! :) Pastor Theo ( talk) 01:51, 19 August 2009 (UTC) reply

Thanks and sorry if I have got you into trouble over restoring the rollback. Corruptcopper ( talk) 09:54, 19 August 2009 (UTC) reply

Huggle message

Hey Corruptcopper! You are receiving this message because you are subscribed at https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Huggle/Members#Beta_testers

I have recently launched a new downloads for beta testers that contains nightly builds of huggle, eg. versions that are built every day from our master branch and contains latest huggle. These builds are currently provided only for Windows and Ubuntu. You can find them here: http://huggle.wmflabs.org/builds/

Please keep in mind that these don't have any automatic updates and if you download and start using nightly build, you will need to update it yourself! So don't get yourself to running old version, it's possible to install both stable and nightly huggle, which is what I suggest.

Keep the bug reports coming to phabricator: https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/maniphest/task/create/?projects=Huggle Many thanks! Petrb ( talk) 09:51, 28 January 2015 (UTC) reply

New deal for page patrollers

Hi Corruptcopper,

In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.

Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.

Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery ( talk) 04:29, 13 November 2016 (UTC) reply

Hi Corruptcopper, thanks for your comments at WP:UAA. However, per instruction #6 at the top of that page, users have a choice between warning or reporting, not both. For this reason, when a report appears at WP:UAA, it is correct if the user didn't receive a warning. An administrator can then choose to decline the report and warn the user instead. ~ ToBeFree ( talk) 21:33, 22 April 2020 (UTC) reply

Sorry for the confusion- although at the top of the page where I think I misunderstood was about it being an immediate thing for an administrator to have a look at, and when on Huggle I have noticed it does say do not warn/report users if they have not edited from that account. Hi there I have just looked through your logs and if you say that you have just logged on then don't worry but someone edited from this IP address and then they created some vandalism on the page. Corruptcopper ( talk) 20:16, 21 January 2010 (UTC) reply

Fair enough, my ISP uses dynamic IP allocation so that might be why it's like this. 91.110.157.136 ( talk) 20:20, 21 January 2010 (UTC) reply

My contribution to We Came as Romans

I'm sorry that my English skills aren't very well. I do my edits usually in the german wiki. I don't want to vandalize the english wikipedia. I don't know why you think so. I've only reverted two senseless edits on the We Came as Romans page. Could you please explain, why you are still thinking it was vandalism? SigmaB ( talk) 15:00, 30 September 2010 (UTC) reply

Here are the examples of why you were warned, these seem to me to be in perfect english despite you claiming that your english skills are not that good. First set of vandalism, Vandalism 2nd Time Corruptcopper ( talk) 15:28, 30 September 2010 (UTC) reply
The sentences you have reverted weren't my sentences. Please have another look on the history page of We Came as Romans. I haven't written one single word.

The editor of the sentences was 64.26.124.1. I only did the same as you, I wanted to revert the page -- SigmaB ( talk) 17:14, 1 October 2010 (UTC) reply

Having looked through the contributions you added the ones stated, I have gone back through the whole of the contributions made my the ip address and can not see where they have put it. Corruptcopper ( talk) 19:46, 4 October 2010 (UTC) reply

Deleted Article: Florian Hutter

Hello Corruptcopper, This was my first article, and I spent a lot of time learning how to enter the information and resources, and I felt proud that I was able to create the article. I am sorry that my article on Florian Hutter was deleted. I am having trouble understanding all of the guidelines and I think I need some help. Was my article totally wrong, or was there anything I could have done to edit the article and prevent deletion? Any guidance that you could provide to me would me of great help. The deletion of my article was on 12:25, 24 January 2011.

WP:RFA2011: RfA on other Wikipedias

A detailed table and notes have now been created and posted. It compares how RfA is carried out on major Wikipedias (English, French, German, Italian, Spanish). If you feel that other important language Wikipedias should be added, please let us know. This may however depend on our/your language skills!

RfA Reform update

Hi. It's been a little while since the last message on RfA reform, and there's been a fair amount of slow but steady progress. However, there is currently a flurry of activity due to some conversations on Jimbo's talk page.

I think we're very close to putting an idea or two forward before the community and there are at least two newer ones in the pipeline. So if you have a moment:

Thanks for reading and for any comments that you've now made.

Speedy on Neoprot

I noticed that you tagged Neoprot for speedy deletion based on WP:CSD#A2. Please keep in mind that this criterion only applies if the article actually exists on another Wikipedia. Since this one does not, it is not eligible for speedy deletion simply for having been written in a language other than English. WikiDan61 ChatMe! ReadMe!! 18:02, 7 December 2011 (UTC) reply

It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
