Sorry about reverting your earlier edit. I only saw the edit itself at the time and did not realise that it was what was requested. Sorry again. Tresiden ( talk) 16:14, 22 May 2008 (UTC)

Re:Hertforshire

Hi, all the rearrangements should make sense if you look at the full names of the languages in the interwikibar on the left side of articles. E.g. fi becomes suomi and should be listed under s. I have reverted the edit back to my bot's. -- Harald Khan Ճ 20:22, 23 May 2008 (UTC)

By the way, my bot uses a standard script called Pywikipedia, which probably most of the interwiki bots use. -- Harald Khan Ճ 20:24, 23 May 2008 (UTC)

No problem. If you should see some suspect edits from my bot again, do not hesitate to contact me. ;-) -- Harald Khan Ճ 20:31, 23 May 2008 (UTC)

Speedy Deletions

Hi Bazj. I'm afraid I've declined a couple of your speedy deletion nominations [1] [2]. Please note that WP:CSD#A7 is a very tight criteria. For example having a reference or just the implication of notability means the page should not be speedy deleted, but taken to WP:AFD for a discussion. Not to worry though, and thanks for your help. wikitable / reflist conflict?

{{helpme}}

The references and See Also sections on List of Stewards of the Chiltern Hundreds jump above the table that is the main substance of the page instead of following it.

I've reduced the problem to the bare minimum at User:Bazj/Sandbox. For the life of me I can't see what's wrong.

Any ideas gratefully received. Thanks.

Bazj ( talk) 18:24, 18 June 2008 (UTC)

  • That's because the table is messed up. I think you'll have to wipe out the whole table and start over again (don't put any subheaders in the table, that seems to be messing it up). Ten Pound Hammer and his otters( Broken clamshellsOtter chirps) 18:32, 18 June 2008 (UTC)

Looks like it would have an interesting story, from a boarding school in 1928 to special measures in 2008, but I don't know much about it. With all those deletionists on the prowl, I'd rather wait till I know that story than create a stub. Kanguole ( talk) 23:44, 18 June 2008 (UTC)

Doge succession box

Hey, I like your succession box better anyway! I like the idea you guys have come up with..making standardized succession boxes for certain types of things. I think ultimately, when scripting technology on Wikipedia gets better, there will be even more options like personalized succession boxes or overall smoother looking ones that are more interactive. Imagine a succession box made with JavaScript, for example, that had the left and right sides of the box (the previous or successive person or thing) as a clickable button. Just an idea...Cheers! BLPSE et al

I've responded at WT:UTM. It's not a technical limitation on the template, but a practical one that some of the sanctions, such as revert limits and topic bans, are specifically limited to admins by the arbocm ruling. It's also still a work in progress; the one article under sanction, Sarah Palin, is both our highest traffic article and currently full protected. Thank you for your efforts

You've done more to help SBS in these two weeks than others have done in months. I have to say your efforts are much appreciated. It annoys me a little that I am too slow to react these days; I suffer from mild burnout, so I take things slowly. I do intend to comment on your ideas at WT:SBS, some of which look interesting. I'd just like to say that you shouldn't be alarmed by a lack of response for some days; you should know that the current level of activity isn't much lower than SBS's usual operational standards. We have a chronic problem of personnel shortage as a project; even if there are ideas on the table, there usually aren't people to discuss them. Most of the guidelines have been approved by committee, and I dread the thought of what will happen when we manage to acquire more publicity and people will start questioning our standards.

All right, I'm ranting now. I'm going to bed. :-) Waltham, The Duke of 02:52, 7 September 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Filmer Baronets

A tag has been placed on Filmer Baronets requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{ hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Victor Lopes ( talk) 00:33, 28 September 2008 (UTC)

db-album

{{db-album}} only applies if there is no article for the artist that created the album.— Kww( talk) 13:41, 6 December 2008 (UTC)

Regarding Zé Ramalho's albums

You are totally right. In all his albums' articles, there is only the basic information (track listing, personnel, release dates, etc.). Considering this, they should be merged to Ramalho's page. However, he has released more than 20 albums. Merging all this info to his article will make it quite big and untidy. If you take a look at WP:NALBUMS, you'll see that albums should be merged to the artist's page only when there's enough space. And there's not enough space in his article for for more than 20 albums. At least, that's what I understood of that paragraph. Hope you now understand why I'm creating articles on all his albums. And be careful, as Kww said, CSD A9 applies only when the album is not notable and the artist's page doesn't exist. Next time you try to request the deletion of an album article, use the proposed deletion instead. Cheers! Victor Lopes ( talk) 14:56, 6 December 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of George Turnbull (soldier)

A tag has been placed on George Turnbull (soldier) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{ hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Breweries

Well, I don't really know what to say about it. Honestly, my first thought looking at the article was, what on earth is this? I don't really know how notable these breweries are/were, but if they're notable, I think there's the possibility here for a good (even featured list). Obviously, the first you need to do is write some sort of lead section. After that, I would suggest creating a table listing each Brewery by date, location, etc. and with some basic information about it. Then, I'd put the graphical timeline at the very end of the article. Traditionally, a graphical timeline doesn't just stand alone. If you'd like some help working on it, I'd be glad to pitch in. RFA

Hi Bazj, Sorry that hasn't worked out this time. If you want some tips for your second run, go back to whatever parts of the Wiki that you enjoy most and drop me an Email in about ten weeks. Ϣere SpielChequers 07:23, 10 April 2009 (UTC)

Thanks. The RfA process has left me touched by the generosity of time & spirit of many wikipedians, yourself included.
As for another RfA, I've learnt that for many voters it's an all or nothing deal. They're not going to give the tools to someone who wants to start by just helping out a couple of hours a week on the simpler, more mundane tasks, and progress incrementally. I also know there are areas of the admin role that are of absolutely no interest to me ~ I can see the point of monitoring copyvio, and ANI, but they leave me cold. I guess that's a long way of getting round to the point that I don't think there will ever be a second RfA, though I really appreciate your offer of help.
I think I'll just stick with editing articles that interest me. And as those articles get closer to completion I'll just fade away from Wikipedia. Even if that spoils my image as a power obsessed maniac :-) Bazj ( talk) 09:32, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
Dear Bazj, I don't claim to fully understand the collective mind of the Opposse, but my first RFA failed at 65% and my second passed at 93%. Had I "progressed" as a wikipedian in the intervening four months? Well yes I had, but in my view I'd gone from the sort of marginal candidate who'll scrape through or fail depending on which members of the Opposse are active that month and what the fashionable oppose criteria are, to a probable pass level. BTW though I've deleted over a thousand pages since getting the mop not one was for copy violation, and my only ANI posts since getting the mop have been two tiny threads such as asking for a more experienced admin to review one of my actions. !voters aren't concerned about candidates who have no intention of ever using the tools in certain areas, they do worry about those who might start using the tools in areas where they are insufficiently experienced. Ϣere SpielChequers 11:10, 10 April 2009 (UTC)

Give it a few months Bazj and demonstrate you are fully knowledgeable with the way things run on here and people might be willing to support you but only once you prove that you would make a competent administrator. Admittedly I was a little harsher than normal as something of a test to see how you would react to my comments. Perhaps in six months after some hard work and "evidence" that you make the right decisiions over things and get some decent edits under your belt you might give RFA another run if you really want adminship. My feeling is that you need more experience and I was deeply concerned that if you had deletion tools you would have deleted such clearly acceptable articles. Dr. Blofeld White cat 14:05, 10 April 2009 (UTC)

Thank you for your comments. I found them as encouraging and helpful as the comments you left on other editors talk pages to be condescending and belittling. But then we've spent the last couple of days misreading each other. Time for a clean start.
Stripping the perceived sarcasm from my original reply, I was serious about rollbacker. If you have concerns with me having rollbacker privilege, please feel free to have it removed.
One of my guiding principles is that nobody's bigger than the process (except maybe Jimbo, but in his case, we're the kids playing with his toys). The CSD, at its heart, is a call for a third party opinion. Punkmorten removed it from his own article. I raised an AfD in the hope of a genuine third party opinion. You, I, and several other voters all see arrogance in there. The pity is that we see it at different steps. And in my case that I had an RfA running where everybody could (and did) express that difference of opinion.
Where you saw the arrogant pursuit a vendetta against the article (and showing a trait undesirable in an admin), I saw a defence of the request for an impartial opinion (which I guess you'd see as desirable in an admin).
For the future, I see myself being happy to just edit articles which interest me, and as summer comes along, start doing more offline, away from a keyboard. After all this is my free time, not where I see myself doing "hard work", or getting into conflicts just to produce evidence of my good judgement. At the moment a second RfA is nowhere on my horizon and the last thing I'd want.
Happy wiki-ing. Bazj ( talk) 17:06, 10 April 2009 (UTC)

What people often forget is yes wikipedia is to be enjoyed. Get some good articles under your belt and some experience with new page patrol or various departments and then it should come naturally if you are intended as an admin as people will recognise it. I agree we are all volunteers, sometimes it seems very mean to go under the grill at RFA, most of the time they can be particularly unpleasant when we don't have to be here anyway. But if people are to trust you with powerful tools which can affect the content of the site then they need to see evidence that you are committed to improving the project and looking after it. If you are purely interested in articles and writing, then adminship really shouldn't be all that important to you. Some people see it as a promotion and a position above others, the reality is that it is really a mop and bucket and having to behave in an exceptionally patient way just to keep people happy. Happy editing Dr. Blofeld White cat 17:16, 10 April 2009 (UTC).

Just a note though if article have a reference to a national encyclopedia or dictionary they meet our requirements generally. Same goes with most geographical articles. taking any to AFD will likely be a waste of everybody's time and will get a resounding keep. Just in case you didn't realise from what happened with Punkmorten. Dr. Blofeld White cat 17:24, 10 April 2009 (UTC)

I have gone ahead and removed the speedy deletion template from the redirect since it appeared that there were some people opposing the move. In such cases it is probably better to take it to requested moves. Of course, if I am missing something here feel free to let me know. Thanks and best wishes, -- TeaDrinker ( talk) 02:41, 17 April 2009 (UTC)

The nominator at RfD didn't make it clear that deletion of the redirect was necessary to move the article back to "Prayer mat". The text on only keep vote makes it clear that the voter thinks the text should be accessible through "Prayer mat" in preference to "Janamaz".
Please delete. And if you've got the time, move "Janamaz" back to "Prayer mat". Thanks. Bazj ( talk) 06:20, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for your note, and I see your point about the editor there. I was also concerned that is was only recently moved, seeming to indicate one perhaps one person who would oppose the move. I think the best thing here still is the requested moves route, unless Wayiran ( talk · contribs) indicates s/he thinks the move back is acceptable. Sorry for the additional bureaucracy and let me know if you have further questions or concerns. -- TeaDrinker ( talk) 07:46, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
OK, will do. But to follow your logic to the conclusion, either there are no circumstances in which a G6 would work (so why have the criterion), or a G6 would have worked if I'd waited a month or so (presumably on the basis it's not confrontational if Wayiran ( talk · contribs) isn't looking closely any more). Either way, I don't think the logic holds. Cheers. Bazj ( talk) 09:18, 17 April 2009 (UTC)

Thanks, Wolfgang, from Austria, [w.] 17:31, 16 May 2009 (UTC)

I just now proposed to have the large file (unused up to now) renamed. Filenames should be as descriptive as possible. Please check whether you see any objection, and, in case, change the target name at will (do not change my signature, as such would prevent the bot to operate unless you're a "trusted user" on COM).

In fact, it would have been simpler to just overwrite the smaller file (there is a link, ~"Upload new version", at the bottom of each file description page). After the rename is done (which may take days or weeks, depending on the person who runs the bot) the smaller file will be tagged "duplicate" and removed anyways.

I also please ask you to check my description in commons:Category:Lululaund and possibly improve on my English, ASAP. Thanks, Wolfgang [w.] 08:16, 17 May 2009 (UTC)

At the top of Melbourne Road, where it joins the High Street, there are two other buildings which may be associated with Herkomer's art school. I don't know. The one on the left (now Bank of Scotland) has a high glass wall and glass roof (a film studio?). On the other corner, the building has a style which is distinctive and matches nothing else in the area.
This is Bushey Rose Garden, formerly the gardens to Lululaund. [3], [4] Bazj ( talk) 12:05, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
Thank you, I did read this from the history @COM, but felt unable to react sooner. The deWP Herkomer article is "on ice", for me, for a while, feeling there is too much pea-counting instead of cooperation, to my taste, and also because there's quite some cultural events with living people, as of now+recently, in Vienna. See, e.g., de:Spezial:Beiträge/W. or my recent COM contribs. HvH is dead, therefore patient, I suppose ;)
As the original wooden buildings of the Herkomer School had been destroyed when the rose garden was built by ~1912, I-for-myself do not feel it worth while to search for relics of any of the (THREE, I think) successor Schools-of-Art which began to be operated by 1905. See http://www.parksandgardens.ac.uk/component/option,com_parksandgardens/task,site/id,4310/tab,history/Itemid,292/ Best, Wolfgang. [w.] 19:31, 24 May 2009 (UTC)

Copyright problems

Many thanks. -- Duncanogi ( talk) 07:51, 11 June 2009 (UTC)

Don´t you think that the text: "...and the main account is on Wikipedia (english)" in the SUL Box template would be better than "...and their main account is on Wikipedia (english)". The second sounds strange to me, like it could be referring to many wikipedians at the same time instead of the idea of 'this user' with the text "his/her main account is on...". Perhaps it may sound more correct to me if the userbox say something like: "This user has fused the multiple accounts within wikimedia sister projects in a global account, and their main account is on Wikipedia (English)" (for example). - Damërung ...ÏìíÏ... _Ξ_ . --  09:07, 21 June 2009 (UTC)

To be honest, no. English's lack of a gender-neutral and non-inanimate singular pronoun is a pain.
  • "...and the main account..." sounds like it implies a single main account shared by every user;
  • "...and his/her main account..." implies a gender confusion where I'm sure the user feels none;
  • "This user has fused the multiple accounts within wikimedia sister projects in a global account, and their main account is on Wikipedia (English)" sounds too long and clunky for a userbox.
  • "...and whose main account..." works around the problem, but it needs a rewrite to work,
"This is a user who has created a global account, and whose main account is on Wikipedia (English)."
which also sounds too long and clunky;
  • "...and their main account..." is common usage. See They and Singular they. But I guess you're not the only person to have problems with it and it's not realistic to continually explain the usage.
  • We could use {{PAGENAME}} to get around the problem, as in:
This user has created a global account. {{PAGENAME}}'s main account is on Wikipedia (English).
which would render as:
This user has created a global account. Cabayi/Archive 1's main account is on Wikipedia (English).

Corn in Alaska

Hi, Bazj--Can you please document the commercial cultivation of corn in Alaska? Thanks. Yopienso ( talk) 17:02, 18 July 2009 (UTC)

I suggest you ask the editor who added corn to supply the citation rather than just picking the most recent editor. Also you should use {{ fact}} to request a citation as it adds the page to a cleanup category. Regards, Bazj ( talk) 17:50, 18 July 2009 (UTC)
Thanks. Sorry to say, I've been unable to figure out how to use citation needed. :P When I tried, I just got double brackets around {citation needed]. Oh, voila!! Thanks so much!
The reason I asked you for the documentation is because as nearly as I can decipher the history, you were the one who added "corn" back in after I deleted it. Prior to deleting it, I discussed it on the talk page and tried in vain to find online verification for the assertion that corn is a commercial crop in Alaska. Yopienso ( talk) 18:22, 18 July 2009 (UTC)
On the article's history page, use the radio buttons to select two versions then hit "Compare selected revisions" to compare them. My edit was this. Merging material

Thank you for merging List of people from Tychy into the main Tychy article. This was a wise thing to do. Unfortunately, you did so improperly and thus broke our licensing agreement. When ever you merge material you must follow the steps outlined at Help:Merge. In short, you must:

  1. Note where the content is being merged to in your edit summary that turns the old page into a redirect. ("merging content to [[destination]]")
  2. Add a {{ R from merge}} template to the newly created redirect
  3. Note where the content is coming from in your edit summary that adds the merged material. ("merging in content from [[source]]")

Additionally, the resulting redirect cant be deleted. Taking these steps insures proper attribution in order to comply with our licensing agreements. I have gone back and fixed your error for you, so there is nothing more that needs done this time. However, I thought you should know for future cases.

If you have any questions or comments, let me know, ThaddeusB ( talk) 16:04, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

While I take on your general point, in this case the material merged was extracted from the target article about a month ago. There's no loss of credit to any contributor. Regards, Bazj ( talk) 17:45, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
In that case, perhaps an edit summary like "restoring material previously split off from here" or "undoing BOLD split" might have been better so that people like me who didn't know the history weren't confused. :) -- ThaddeusB ( talk) 18:00, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

Jackie Paraiso page

Dear Bazj, what more references do you want for the Jackie Paraiso entry? I've cited works for her international and US championships, including US Open titles. The pro career is more difficult to cite, as I got the info from old - no longer on-line - women's pro websites, which can be seen through archive.org's "Way Back" search engine. The birth date is from the media material for the 1999 Pan Am Games. I mean, I'd like to remove the "need for further citations/references" box, but as you put it there, I want to check with you as to what you'd like to see. Cheers, Trb333 ( talk) 23:21, 29 August 2009 (UTC)

There's an awful lot of material there that seems to have no source. You've already done the research, all that's needed is some clarity on where it all came from. Wikipedia:Using the Wayback Machine gives guidance on citing Way Back.
Some hint on her multiple names would be useful. I've created a redir at Jackie Paraiso Gibson, and a dab at Jackie Gibson. Regards, Bazj ( talk) 11:44, 1 September 2009 (UTC)
You can reference the Way Back machine?! Wow. That'll help immensely. Good point about the different names too. Thanks much. Cheers, Trb333 ( talk) 15:20, 2 September 2009 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on John Sheil requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hey there.

I've recently posted on WP:HERTS and User:Simply South's talk page about the possibility of bringing the project back to life, and if so how we would go about this and what we would do. I was wondering if you would be interested in getting involved? I think we have a small but dedicated and diverse group of editors, including editors with interests in geography, sports, transport, mills, politics, music and history. If we could bring these talents together I reckon we could produce some fantastic work on some of the project's key areas, such as Hertfordshire, History of Hertfordshire, and the county's larger settlements.

Personally I believe the key to successfully bringing together the efforts of editors with interest in anything remotely Herts related will be to maintain at least a semi-active talk page at WT:HERTS, so feel free to give any thoughts you have there. Also, don't be afraid to be bold if you feel something to do with the project can be changed for the better. Regards, WFCforLife ( talk) 20:49, 10 November 2009 (UTC)

You are now a Reviewer

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles ( talk) 05:08, 20 June 2010 (UTC)

The article George Turnbull: "The first railway engineer of India" has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unlikely-to-be-needed redirect

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. INOXCVA Deleted Page !

Sir This is second time in the row my company' official page has been deleted by Wikipedia. Last time, I got notification about Advertisement sort of writing. Therefore I'd gone through other wiki pages of other Indian companies registered at Wiki.

Started writing with that scale & point of concern but again this page deleted. I'm shocked, I've confirmed to my company authority our established page at Wiki. Suddenly you've again deleted that page. What went wrong? Nowhere I did mention any form of advertisement format. I thoroughly followed decorum of Wiki, what other companies had done or being doing.

Would like correct one thing, the page created last time what already rejected. That's why I again registered myself on wiki with my company's official email id only. Started writing taking key things as priority & to maintain the identity of Wiki as well as my respected company.

What else you expect from me? Please guide, I started writing after considering filters of Wiki norms only. I wish to follow each & every guidelines to register our company' page at Wiki.

Help me... I don't mind if you remove whatever you observed as advertising content. Hope to hear you soon. Thanks

Saurabh Mishra Petroleum Engineer, Blogger (Once upon a time) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Saurabhinox ( talkcontribs) 04:08, 17 September 2011 (UTC)

OK. Let's start at the beginning. An article called "INOXCVA" written by Saurabhinox is obviously not written by an impartial bystander. When it appears on Special:NewPages it stands out as a page that needs review. You are obviously under a conflict of interest. When you say "I've confirmed to my company authority our established page at Wiki" you confirm that you're writing this to publicise your company, not to add impartial knowledge to the encyclopedia.
Change your attitude... "my company' official page", "our established page", "our company' page" ~ Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a classy facebook or linkedin for companies to establish a presence. We're after an encyclopedia article, not a promotional puff-piece. Ask yourself, if this was your company could you write this article? Would you? Would you link to it? If not, you're not impartial enough.
Widen your interpretation of what is seen as advertising. Re-read your text in this light.
I can't recall your article in detail and, not being an admin, I can't see the deleted text, but I don't recall it linking to any other articles. Integrate your article with the rest of wikipedia.
my respected company... words like respected, esteemed, reputable have no place in encyclopedia entry unless in a quote from some other source.
Cite independent references, don't just link to the company's website.
But most importantly, DO NOT write this article. Make small edits on other articles. Add links to other wiki pages. Help other editors. Learn how wikipedia works. If you still want to write this article in 6 months time, then read Wikipedia:Your first article and have a go. Bazj ( talk) 07:16, 17 September 2011 (UTC)

the page edgar gonzalez (mexican architect)

I tried to recover the original page edgar gonzalez (architect), the page was deleted because there is another architect called edgar gonzalez, I wrote to the editor but never got a response from him. encouraging to change the name to edgar gonzalez (MEXICAN architect) to avoid confusion with the edgar gonzalez (cuban architect), never tried to do an autobiography...

this is the link where i ask the page to be recovered:

and this the request:

Hello kevin, I noticed that the page that was written about me has been deleted. I was notified by a newspaper reporter who was looking for it.
I set this request for the page to be bring back, I wanted to update some info about it, (some recent mayor jurys I have done as the Biennale and premis FAD), besides my webpage edgargonzalez.com for which I am very well known in spain :specially has been setting as a mayor influence in the architectural scene.
I read that one of the reasons is because there is another architect (older and cuban) named the same as me, actualy Iknow him and we worked at the same office on different times Zaha Hadid Architects.
In my humble opinion, being named the same as someone disqualifies you from appearing on wikipedia, I am a semi-public figure on Spain where i Live and Work.
I hope you reconsider the deletion, thanks a lot. edgargonzalez (the mexican one) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Edgargonzalez (talk • contribs) 15:34, 1 July 2011 (UTC)

CSD criteria are narrow and specific to protect the encyclopedia, and the process is more effective if the correct deletion rationale is supplied. Consider reviewing the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions or problems, please let me know. Thanks again! decltype ( talk) 08:55, 19 October 2011 (UTC)

Biting

I would call this edit pure newbie biting. Please think before doing something like that. — RHaworth ( talk · contribs) 10:23, 20 October 2011 (UTC)

Certainly not what I intended. I tried moving Prencezau/sandbox to User:Prencezau/sandbox, but couldn't since it already existed, having already been userfied 10 days ago. I intended marking Prencezau/sandbox as vandalism for CSD. I can only assume it was made a REDIR in the meantime and Twinkle applied the CSD to the target page, and I didn't notice. Not being an admin I have no way of verifying since, somehow, you've moved the articlespace copy to the (already existing) userspace page.
By the way, the contribs link in your sig is corrupted. Bazj ( talk) 12:14, 20 October 2011 (UTC)
Looking closer, I think the CSD only ended up on the userpage because you moved it from articlespace. As the article had already been userfied once, and the user had been told, a vandalism CSD still seems appropriate for a recreation of WP:OR with a userpage name in articlespace. Bazj ( talk) 12:31, 20 October 2011 (UTC)

Many thanks for the notification about my signature. I take you point that the article had been userfied already. If you had checked that the second version was the same as the first, applied the CSD tag and given Prencezau an hand-written message pointing to the older version, then I would have accepted your actions. — RHaworth ( talk · contribs) 17:45, 20 October 2011 (UTC)

You can see from the here the Chinese web site somehow downloaded and placed this as page 161 as an error. All this page had was chinese because in those days to get the votes we cross post the articles across many bulletin boards.

http://www.asiachinaof.com/161.html is a goofy page for that website. They were clueless of the contents.

Please undelete article soc.culture.tamil or allow me to repost.

British Colonsation of Tasmania

Hi Bazj. I am just asking if you could revert the redirect to Black War. The article: British Colonisation of Tasmania wasn't finished and I intended it to be more than just warfare with Aborigines. (Inferstructure, railroads etc.) When I have finished the article you could decide if it needed redirecting. Thanks. Vought109 ( talk) 01:03, 4 January 2012 (UTC)

You don't need me to do it. So long as there's more material coming I have no argument with reverting the REDIR. I'd made some changes before redirecting, so I'd suggest starting at this version. Regards, Bazj ( talk) 07:14, 4 January 2012 (UTC)

Foreign-language articles

Hi. With articles on foreign Languages, like Şükürlü Ömürtay just now, the message {{ uw-notenglish}} is only appropriate if you have actually listed the page at WP:PNT. That's only worth doing if it looks as though it might be worth translating. Then the thing to do is, tag it with {{ notenglish}}, or better e.g. {{notenglish|Turkish}} if you know the language, and that template gives you a link to WP:PNT where you can list the page in case someone is interested in checking it out and maybe translating it. If it's obviously speediable, like this one, there's no point doing that. There's a useful set of messages, many bilingual like {{ contrib-ru1}}, at WP:PNT/T that you can use to point the author to the relevant foreign-language WP - many of them don't know there are any others. Astronomical calendars on Gotland

This page has been re-written in accordance with instructions discussed with Kim Dent-Brown

The signature OpenFuture who has reversed both my legimate articles declared last week that he will delete everything I write. Now he is instead using the signature Mrund

The references are:

The basis for this article is an article in Fornvännen 1983 http://fornvannen.se/pdf/1980talet/1983_021.pdf This article was edited and approved by the previous editor of Fornvännen Fil Dr Jan-Peder Lamm Fornvännen is a highly reputable magazine Göran H. wrote the article in 1982. Jan-Peder Lamm edited the article but suggested that Göran H. should include a comparison with Stonehenge. Therefore did J-P L supply Göran H. with archaeological history about Stonehenge. Göran H. re-wrote the article with comparison with Stonhenge and the article was published in 1983.

Jan-Peder Lamm, born 27 October 1935, is a Swedish archaeologist. He received his PhD in 1973 from the University of Stockholm for a dissertation about a Migration Period elite cemetery near Drottningholm. Lamm taught archaeology at the University of Stockholm in the 1970s and then worked until retirement as Head Curator for the Swedish Iron Age at the Museum of National Antiquities in Stockholm. He is a member of the editorial board behind the journal Fornvännen and has taken active part in the Helgö project since the 1960s. Fornvännen (print: ISSN 0015-7813, online: ISSN 1404-9430) is a Swedish academic journal in the fields of archaeology and Medieval art. It is published quarterly by the Royal Swedish Academy of Letters in Stockholm, Sweden. The journal's contributions are written in the Scandinavian languages, English, or German with summaries in English. Fornvännen has the alternate title Journal of Swedish Antiquarian Research. The editor in chief is Lars Larsson. Fornvännen began publication in 1906 when it replaced two earlier journals, Svenska Fornminnesföreningens Tidskrift and Vitterhetsakademiens Månadsblad. Early contributors included noted archaeologists Oscar Montelius and Hans Hildebrand.[1] Since 2000 it has an online version, since 2007 its first 100 annual volumes have been available on-line, and since 2009 Fornvännen is published as a delayed open-access journal with the online version of each issue appearing six months after the paper version. Fornvännen is an ERIH category B journal. According to Ulrich's, it is indexed in Anthropological Index Online, Anthropological Literature, British & Irish Archaeological Bibliography (Online Edition), Nordic Archaeological Abstracts, and FRANCIS. It was previously also indexed in Internationale Bibliographie der Rezensionen Geistes- und Sozialwissenschaftlicher Literatur and Linguistic Bibliography.[2] Henriksson, Göran. Stavgard ( talk) 20:53, 23 February 2012 (UTC)

The article was a replication of your earlier article Gotland astronomical calendars, both of which covered the same material as was covered in Grooves (archaeology) to which both articles have been redirected. The material you refer to is cited in that article. Nothing has been censored.
The material you wanted on wikipedia IS on wikipedia. You no longer need to stick irrelevant biographies on the talk pages of everybody you encounter.
Either your English is not at a level where you can meaningfully contribute on this wiki, or you wilfully choose to misinterpret what is said to you. OpenFuture's comment to you that "You are, as usual, correct. We, The Swedish Branch of the Holy Order of Illuminati, are dead set to make sure the truth about the ancient calendars on Gotland will never reach the public eyes. We have more power than you can imagine. Resistance is futile, you will be assimilated. Don't forget to put on your aluminum foil hat." is obviously sarcastic, and far more polite to you than I'd have been under the circumstances. It's also obvious you don't know the difference between the verbs CENSOR and CENSURE. Your material has not been censored, you however are about to be censured...
OpenFuture has obviously put in a lot of time dealing with your queries and trying to help you get to grips with wikipedia. Your responses to OpenFuture on your talk page, and the accusations you level against him/her and Mrund are truly offensive and I believe you owe them an apology.
Now, get a grip on yourself and reality, contribute sensibly, or get off wikipedia. Bazj ( talk) 21:55, 23 February 2012 (UTC)

Sorry, that is not true. Grooves (archaeology) is about archaeology Astronomical calendars on Gotland is about astronomy edit by 2 professors Institute of Archaeology. Russian Academy of Sciences

Both articles are important as they complete its other.

No, i am not Vesna Vukelić Vendi. I'm just a fan of her and it's my user name. Uljez Vendi 9:08, 20 september 2014

OK, but be warned it's likely someone else may see the same traits and draw the same conclusion:
  • Your name is chosen to mimic her name and her single,
  • you're almost exclusively editing material about her, and
  • your writing style is promotional, not encyclopedic.
"If it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck...".
I've withdrawn the CSD on Vesna Vukelić Vendi and pointed some of the links to articles in which she's actually named, not UK or Croat versions of the shows. Uljez still looks non-encyclopedic and I'm leaving that CSD in place. Bazj ( talk) 11:31, 20 September 2014 (UTC)

You've been through Wikipedia:Articles for creation before, why not this time? The article you created states the company is a start-up, so it won't be notable. Despite the lack of detail you've made sure to upload and include the company's logo which just makes your submission look like an advert.
If the article wasn't ready for public consumption why didn't you start in your user space?
I'd advise you to edit articles before creating new ones, that is if you want to contribute to Wikipedia rather than just advertise.
I'd have moved the article to your user space so that you could work on it in private, but I see you've blanked it which is taken as a sign you'd like the article to be deleted. Bazj ( talk) 09:01, 2 October 2014 (UTC)

Thanks. I need to learn how to add the additional categories you included at the bottom re. US National Register of Historic Places, as I've created other pages on historic places but they do not have info. such as this at the bottom of their page. There must be a "template" I can find? I also noticed that you included the category on "occupation." I wasn't sure if I should have included that type of info or not. So in the future I will so include. I'm also in a state of uncertainty re. how much is "too much" information for the description of a Mansion. I can see that for someone that is really interested in this structure/architecture they would appreciate it, but for the general reader not so much. I added the Occupation detail because, as a general reader, what was there is about as exciting as an estate agent's (realtor's) sales flyer. For the categories, I use HotCat. Hope that helps. Speedy deletion declined: User:Soric.soricoi/sandbox

Hello Bazj. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of User:Soric.soricoi/sandbox, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: User may simply want to blank his sandbox before reusing it. Thank you. JohnCD ( talk) 14:21, 11 October 2014 (UTC)

Very unlikely in view of the permanent block. Bazj ( talk) 14:23, 11 October 2014 (UTC)
You have a point there, but I still see no reason to delete the blanked page. A WP:CSD#U1 request should come from the actual account, and the user-blanked-page provision of WP:CSD#G7 has an exception for "a userspace page, a category page, or any type of talk page". Polina Fedorova

Please look at the talk page and remove the speedy deletion tag you placed. She has just won the bronze medal in the team event at the 2014 World Championships and now passes WP:NGYMNASTICS. It's that simple. -- Moscow Connection ( talk) 13:05, 15 October 2014 (UTC)

I mean, look at the talk page here: Talk:Polina Fedorova#Contested deletion. -- Moscow Connection ( talk) 13:07, 15 October 2014 (UTC)

By the way, I'm surprised at what happened cause the article clearly states she won a medal at the Worlds, and the medal is listed in the infobox and has been since the first revision. -- Moscow Connection ( talk) 13:40, 15 October 2014 (UTC)

East Kilbride YM Football Club

with reference to your decision of speedy deletion of'East Kilbride YM Football Club' I would like to make a case for it not being deleted. The club is 78 years old with a significant history and bearing in the community of the new town East Kilbride, South Lanarkshire.Thousands of people have came and went through the club and I have created this page due to the requests from people, old and young, who wish to have the club on wikipedia. I am not affiliated to East Kilbride YM FC as a player or official and actually live in London, previously having stayed in East Kilbride which is where my knowledge of the club and its importance have came from.

This is my first attempt at creating a wikipedia page and hope for it to be the first of many. With this in mind, I would like to ask you for any advice or information that I can use to keep this page on wikipedia and that I can use in future submissions on this site. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ekymfc ( talkcontribs) 18:27, 15 October 2014 (UTC)

It looks like you've unwittingly tripped over several stumbling blocks which have combined to give the wrong impression.
Firstly, your user name, Ekymfc, is OK on its own. When you start editing East Kilbride YM Football Club and East Kilbride YM Annual Invitational Tournament 2014 (and nothing else) it looks like you're acting on behalf of the club and have a conflict of interest. You were close to WP:PROMOTION which would have had your account blocked fairly quickly. So please, take the advice I gave you earlier and change your username. Don't just start editing under another account ~ it'll be seen as devious behaviour.
Bear the conflict in mind while editing. Your words about East Kilbride F.C., "their own wikipedia page", are revealing. It's not THEIRS. It's an article ABOUT them. We're here to create an encyclopedia, not a promo for East Kilbride YM FC.
Secondly, the article does nothing to establish the notability of the club. Does it satisfy the necessary criteria for a club? Why are there no independent verifiable sources for the claims?
Next, apart from 4 links in the first paragraph ( football, East Kilbride, South Lanarkshire, and Scottish Amateur Football League) it doesn't link to anything else on wikipedia.
You mentioned East Kilbride F.C. for comparison. Look at it objectively. Nearly every sentence has a reference to an external source that backs up the detail. It has links to the league in which they compete. It belongs to categories so it can be found in a wider context. It doesn't name everybody because, when it comes to notability, the level required of players is even higher, see WP:NSOCCER.
Finally, your draft was coming along. I don't see the point of doing that then skipping the review stage which would have been a lot more constructive and less confrontational than having your work marked for deletion.
Happy editing. Regards, Bazj ( talk) 19:51, 15 October 2014 (UTC)

Mumbai Monthly Meet (MMM)

The program has been organized by my alma mater since 1996. It is an education institution of international importance and the program has helped alumni around the globe connect with the institute holistically for many noble causes. IITB is one of the best technical education institution in India and is not a private organization. It is owned by Government of India. Hope you will reinstate the article. I have already given two references there. Regards, Mahavir Sohanlal Jain — Preceding unsigned comment added by MahavirjainIITB ( talkcontribs) 13:51, 18 October 2014 (UTC)

  • I'm not an admin, I can't restore, not even if the article were worth restoring.
  • Nobody's disputing that IITB is notable. But notability is not inherited. MMM doesn't become notable because of its association with IITB.
  • You have a conflict of interest in that your username implies a close link between you and IITB. I'll leave a note on your userpage.
Regards, Bazj ( talk) 14:48, 18 October 2014 (UTC)

I am a first time contributor. The username "mahavirjainIIT" I created simply because I am an alumnus (award winner) of IITB. If you say so, I can change my username to "mahavirjain" only and make request again. Please tell me if that can help. Regards, Mahavir Sohanlal Jain — Preceding unsigned comment added by MahavirjainIITB ( talkcontribs) 15:26, 18 October 2014 (UTC)

That sounds good. WP:CHU is the place to request the change. You've made few enough edits that it may be easier just to sign up again as mahavirjain, so long as you switch over to the new account completely and never use mahavirjainIIT again. Using two accounts can lead to serious problems.
Happy editing, Regards Bazj ( talk) 15:38, 18 October 2014 (UTC)

The user who reverted your edit obviously thought otherwise. Given your track record of vandalism throughout the day I think the final warning should stand. You know you're being a vandal, and I see no point in giving you one more free act of vandalism before you get yourself blocked. Behave yourself and the warnings will come to nothing. Carry on as you have been, and earn yourself a block. Your choice. Bazj ( talk) 20:43, 15 November 2014 (UTC)

Regarding my article about Selcuk Sun

Hello Bazj Nice to hear from you. You wrote to me that I should not write or add an article about myself. I did not and I am not Selcuk Sun. He is my father. He is for sure a notable person in Turkey and on the Jazz scene in many countries. I noticed that here are no articles about him and I thought he deserves an article at Wikipedia as many other jazz musicians. I am new to this and quite inexperienced writing here at Wikipedia, so I am happy for any feedback about my article.

Sbsun ( talk) 09:43, 21 November 2014 (UTC)

Sbsun, I've removed the autobiography tag on your page and on the article, but you should be aware of your conflict of interest while writing about your father. You may find it easier to write the article on the Turkish wikipedia and then translate it here. There seems to be more supporting material about him there, and articles to link to. The article tr:1984 Eurovision Şarkı Yarışması'nda Türkiye seems to have redlinks ready and waiting for an article about him. I say "seems" because I don't understand Turkish and it looks to have his name there.
On the plus side you can take credit that, unlike most new pages about family members by new editors, the article wasn't so biased that anybody felt the need to have it deleted as a violation of the rules. Happy editing. Bazj ( talk) 12:48, 21 November 2014 (UTC)

Regarding the articles about Near East University Herbarium center and Near East University Museum of Classical and Sports Cars

I have created two pages yesterday that were deleted due to copyright infringement. The pages are https://en.wikipedia.org/?title=Near_East_University_Herbarium_Center&action=edit&redlink=1 and https://en.wikipedia.org/?title=Near_East_University_Museum_of_Classical_and_Sports_Cars&action=edit&redlink=1

I work for the Near East University and am a part of the webteam responsible for the web content. I am in charge of the wiki content. I have created the pages about our founding rector for example and the University itself. We were required to speed up the creation of new pages about some of our facilities. We didn't think that editing the text we have already written for our website would be necessary. I kindly require a revision of the two pages I mentioned. A confirmation about who I am and what my position is could be retrieved by emailing me (orhan.ozkilic@neu.edu.tr) or my superviser silviya.guzen@neu.edu.tr or the team mail group address webteam@neu.edu.tr or my direct manager tamer.garip@neu.edu.tr

As one of the major contributors to this article, I would have appreciated being informed that it had been nominated for deletion. Please inform people next time you nominate an article at AfD. Yngvadottir ( talk) 02:47, 10 December 2014 (UTC)

Yngvadottir, Apologies for that. Now the article's gone I'm in no position to reassess what I did.
But didn't you rate your contribution high enough to have the article on your watchlist? I think we'll have to split the blame. Bazj ( talk) 05:25, 10 December 2014 (UTC)
No, I have an immense watchlist and this article didn't fall in one of the AfD sorting categories I have watchlisted (and some content creators don't use their watchlists at all). I believe I came to this article via WP:Pages needing translation into English; I can see the history and I had added multiple references as well as tightening up the prose, but later edits made it more promotional. I would have liked the opportunity to try to save it by finding newer references. Please check in future. Yngvadottir ( talk) 17:12, 13 December 2014 (UTC)
Yngvadottir, OK, so there are a number of problems here...
  • Your watchlist, like Hullaballoo Wolfowitz' talk page, is too big to be of any use;
  • You expect me to know which editors do and do not use their watchlists;
  • I have no idea what you consider to be a major contributor. Adding references (when all I saw were self-ref or advertorial) and tightening up the prose don't strike me as major. And again, now the article's gone I'm in no position to reassess what I did;
  • I would have liked the opportunity to try to save it... ummmm, you do have the tools?
In isolation I might not have given the article a thought, but the sudden proliferation of "franchise" articles around it, and the single-topic fixation of their creator, made it glaringly promotional.
If I promise to look at the edit history a little closer in future before taking an article to AfD will you do something about your watchlist? Bazj ( talk) 19:14, 13 December 2014 (UTC)
I read the AfD, I am not objecting to your nominating it for deletion or to your rationale; and consensus rules here, I have no more standing than anyone else to either undelete it myself or request it be undeleted. It's gone, and there's no use crying over spilled milk. However: I am not asking you to intuit who uses their watchlist or carefully go through diffs to determine who wrote what in the article (although with both speedy deletion nominations and AfD, it's advisable to check the history for evidence that the article may have been vandalized or partially blanked). I am asking you to notify major contributors. I made a series of edits to the article (with my usual longish edit summaries) - that should have been enough for a courtesy notification. It's also nice to notify the article creator, although they are the one person who can reasonably be expected to see the AfD on their watchlist. When I nominate an article at AfD I usually notify everyone except the vandal reverters, the vandals, and the people who added a single category, fixed a typo, added an interwiki, or made a formatting correction. It's safest. However, leave my watchlist to me, please :-) You can't see it, and plus I'm sure we all use them in very different ways. Mine includes most of the articles I boast on my user page, plus some vandal targets, plus talk pages of some editors I've blocked and some who have asked me for help on their own talk pages ... plus several of the AfD topic lists. Because that's how I roll :-) Some content creators ignore their watchlists so they have more time for writing - and that's ok too. Apologies for the lengthy response. Please just notify a few people next time. Yngvadottir ( talk) 20:47, 13 December 2014 (UTC)

CSD#A11

Don't add {{db-madeup}} tags to articles if you can't be bothered to read WP:CSD#A11. Wily D 16:24, 10 December 2014 (UTC)

WilyD Read it. Read the article. Still don't see any credible claims. Certainly don't see that using the word ancient gets a free pass. Bazj ( talk) 16:33, 10 December 2014 (UTC)
If it's your claim that the person who wrote that article was also setting social standards for the treatment of women several thousand years ago, I'm not sure how to explain to you what the problem is. Wily D 16:36, 10 December 2014 (UTC)
That's not within a country mile of my objections. The article makes assertions that society was like x,y,z without anything to differentiate it from fairytale. It's just not credible. Bazj ( talk) 16:46, 10 December 2014 (UTC)
Whether or not the claims are credible (they are) is irrelevant to whether or not an article is eligible for A11 deletion. Again - read WP:CSD#A11. Wily D 17:11, 10 December 2014 (UTC)

Hullaballoo Wolfowitz, could you explain your latest edit and comment: I disagree. It's evident the article creator was trying to create a page, had trouble with image formatting, and you drove them off rather than helping them?

The article creator's last edit was 49 minutes before my first. In what way did I earn that accusation?

If you truly believe the article's creator has been driven off, what merit is there in keeping an empty article. An article that the talk page shows was only ever going to be a 2 image gallery.

While there's virtue in your Jiminy Cricket act on New Page Patrollers you need to examine your own actions too.

I would have placed this on your talk page but it's so large it crashes the browser on my phone each time I try too load it. Bazj ( talk) 22:45, 11 December 2014 (UTC)

Reverting

At Christ the King School: Chicago - you reverted to put a copyvio tag back. Unfortunately, you also reverted from a partial rewrite to a straight copyvio. I deleted it as it was still too close, but it's better to just retag rather than get a worse version back up. No harm done here - but I've seen cases where someone has reverted to an attack that they should have been calling for revdel on. I've given him some advice on trying again in his user space. Hi Bazj. I'm afraid I've declined a couple of your speedy deletion nominations [1] [2]. Please note that WP:CSD#A7 is a very tight criteria. I've responded at WT:UTM. It's not a technical limitation on the template, but a practical one that some of the sanctions, such as revert limits and topic bans, are specifically limited to admins by the arbocm ruling.

Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Rollback

I have 1 granted rollback rights to your account; the reason for this is that after a review of some of your contributions, I believe I can trust you to use rollback correctly by using it for its intended usage of reverting vandalism, and that you will not abuse it by reverting good-faith edits or to revert-war. For information on rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback and Wikipedia:Rollback feature. If you do not want rollback, just let me know, and I'll remove it.

RfD nomination of Sparrows Hearne turnpike

Lululaund

Hi, I recently left a message on your COM talk page -- please answer there, if at all. Thanks, [w.] 22:30, 13 May 2009 (UTC)

  2. AND, more thanks for improving on my "less-than-English" English ;]]]
  3. How do you think about adding the 5-piece-gallery which I recently created on the corresponding deWP article? Would you work on my possibly 'poor' descriptions, in case I'd "transfer" it? Please answer here, in this case.

Lululaund (thread from Commons)

Hi Bazj, in case you would pass by once more at Bushey, it would be great to see whether any of the original carvings are still preserved at the door of former Lululaund. Best, [w.] 22:22, 13 May 2009 (UTC)

W, I've uploaded the uncropped, uncompressed file at File:BritLgnBushey2009(large).jpg. Let me know if you need more detail. Bazj ( talk) 13:59, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
Thanks, I think the new file says enough -- unless there are any more relics of the original building you might have photographed. Were you, BTW, aware that the building is "catched" on google's streetview? Best, and eod on thisone. Wolfgang. [w.] 07:18, 17 May 2009 (UTC)
I see just now that the rename of your hi-res is done, therefore will move on to next step(s). [w.] 19:36, 24 May 2009 (UTC)

  • "...and the main account..." sounds like it implies a single main account shared by every user;
  • "...and his/her main account..." implies a gender confusion where I'm sure the user feels none;
  • "This user has fused the multiple accounts within wikimedia sister projects in a global account, and their main account is on Wikipedia (English)" sounds too long and clunky for a userbox.
  • "...and whose main account..." works around the problem, but it needs a rewrite to work,
"This is a user who has created a global account, and whose main account is on Wikipedia (English)."
which also sounds too long and clunky;
What do you think?
Bazj ( talk) 11:32, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
Ohh, I didn´t think about that. I forgot the {{PAGENAME}} template at all, even when I´ve been using it lately, well, it looks like a great idea to me.
p.s. By the way, you should have used my shoutbox for your reply notification ({{Talkback|Bazj}}, which is a small comment) in my talk page ( look how), (You can use a shoutbox too ... if you want). - Damërung ...ÏìíÏ... _Ξ_ . --  18:33, 21 June 2009 (UTC)

Altered speedy deletion rationale: Touchscreen effect

Hello Bazj I am just letting you know that I deleted Touchscreen effect, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, under a different criterion ( WP:A10) from the one you provided. Thank you. Danger ( talk) 06:34, 5 September 2011 (UTC)

Hello! I'm just letting you know that I challenged the speedy deletion tag that you placed on the article. I found numerous references in books ( GBooks search) which support the article. I'm not sure whether the article would survive an AfD if nominated. But I think AfD would be a much better way to handle this article than nominating it for A7. I've declined your speedy request as A7 doesn't apply to schools. Primary schools are not inherently notable (unlike secondaries), but they have to be prodded or AfDed if they don't show something of significance. I am proud of our Agency's heritage and have posted information concerning it for everyone to peruse, with articles at: New Jersey Detective Agency, and New Jersey State Detectives. Both of these entities are non-profit government law enforcement organizations. Please note that I receive no renumeration or any other gratitude for my work here on our articles, and I have tried to be careful not to link myself personally with my work here; i.e. the username NJSD Captain.

Being a novice, I am having some difficulty in negotiating the skill set needed to publish my New Jersey Detective Agency article professionally. I look forward to any assistance you may be able to provide or guide me to (I am nursing a headache reviewing all the help files provided).

I would be happy to provide you additional details concerning our Agency should they be of any interest.

Thanks for telling me, what went wrong with INOXCVA wiki page. I understand your points & have taken well in my knowledge. Wish Wiki will accept my next article as I'm going to work hard over such concern.

the page edgar gonzalez (mexican architect)

I tried to recover the original page edgar gonzalez (architect), the page was deleted because there is another architect called edgar gonzalez, I wrote to the editor but never got a response from him. encouraging to change the name to edgar gonzalez (MEXICAN architect) to avoid confusion with the edgar gonzalez (cuban architect), never tried to do an autobiography...

this is the link where i ask the page to be recovered:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Kevin

and this the request:

You need not only to THINK it's of significance, you need to SHOW it's of significance, with references. It reads like a tour guide or an advert. Bazj ( talk) 11:11, 4 October 2011 (UTC)

Totally agree - that's why I though an article could be a work in progress. I'm planning to add references, sources, etc. before the end of next week. But because I'm new to this, it takes me ages. But I will enrich, edit the text for sure... Is this way still a good candidate for speedy deletion? I hope not!

Help needed for a student class project

Please see Wikipedia:WikiProject Classroom coordination/SFSU Class Project and consider adding your name.

The scope of the Wikipedia:WikiProject Classroom coordination/SFSU Class Project is mainly concerned with new articles.

According to the teacher's instructions, this group of students may not create a lot of new articles, but may instead focus more on improving existing articles.

So, there may be little for us to do in the way the Wikipedia:WikiProject China/NNU Class Project required. The students may, however, still call on us for guidance in other areas. Anna Frodesiak ( talk) 09:14, 14 October 2011 (UTC)

Regards, JohnCD ( talk) 12:37, 12 February 2012 (UTC)

Vesna Vukelić

Thank you for moving it to my user page. I made it blank because I wanted to follow your instructions and take it off for now until I could work on it more. Michaelgr43 ( talk) 12:20, 2 October 2014 (UTC)

Since it was accidental it seems unreasonable to have the caution hanging around so I've reverted it from your talk page. I've also done some work on wikifying the article and adding categories, hope you can improve it some more. Bazj ( talk) 20:33, 7 October 2014 (UTC)

But the general reader probably would not come to this site. So, still confused!Steven C. Price 20:45, 7 October 2014 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Steven C. Price ( talkcontribs)

Looked up the NRHP which mentioned the Robie House and copied the ideas and code from there. Where it mentioned Illinois, searched for the Oklahoma equivalents. I added the Occupation detail because, as a general reader, what was there is about as exciting as an estate agent's (realtor's) sales flyer. For the categories, I use HotCat. Hope that helps. You have a point there, but I still see no reason to delete the blanked page. A WP:CSD#U1 request should come from the actual account, and the user-blanked-page provision of WP:CSD#G7 has an exception for "a userspace page, a category page, or any type of talk page".

I have created the pages about our founding rector for example and the University itself. We were required to speed up the creation of new pages about some of our facilities. The process you need to follow is outlined in the notice that was posted on your talk page. It's outlined in detail at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. Hope that helps.
Please sign your contributions on talk pages with 4 tildes, ~~~~. Regards, Bazj ( talk) 12:15, 2 December 2014 (UTC)

  • Your watchlist, like Hullaballoo Wolfowitz' talk page, is too big to be of any use;
  • You expect me to know which editors do and do not use their watchlists;
  • I have no idea what you consider to be a major contributor. Adding references (when all I saw were self-ref or advertorial) and tightening up the prose don't strike me as major. And again, now the article's gone I'm in no position to reassess what I did;
  • I would have liked the opportunity to try to save it... ummmm, you do have the tools?

Peridon ( talk) 22:34, 16 December 2014 (UTC)

I take your point. Bazj ( talk) 09:43, 17 December 2014 (UTC)
