Hi,

I see that upon updating the CDP related articles for Colorado, that the FIPS Codes were deleted. The FIPS Codes are different from the GNIS codes in which the United States Census issues FIPS Codes to each entity and the codes are standard in all place-related articles.In addition, not every place with an FIPS code has a GNIS code and vice versa. Hello User:Buaidh: I see you are interested in pages regarding poetry. I am in a COI/Paid relationship with poet and lyricist Larry Beckett. I have posted several requests to his talk page, and have more and am wondering if you would have time and interest in helping review the edits. The editor who originally created the page User:Ghmyrtle has been offering overall suggestions for format, and what the page needs, but is spending most of their time editing other articles. I've also asked for the assistance of User:Yitzilitt who said they would be interested in helping, but may have limited time. I'd love to get more discussion going on for these edits. I put a request on the talk page of the Wikipedia:WikiProject Poetry page, but haven't had a response. Along with what is in my existing requests, we will have more to add to the songwriting section. Hi, I see you are creating pages like List of places in Colorado/footer. The use of subpages in the mainspace is not allowed though. Such pages should either be templates, or simply a part of the articles they are intended for. I see at Portal:Colorado statement that meetings in 2020 could only be held online (sounds reasonable), and to contact you with meeting ideas... I haven't been much aware of / noticing the portal itself, but am plugging along on Colorado articles, especially ones on National Register of Historic Places listings in Colorado, and hoping to turn all Colorado counties' colors from blue shades to red shades in "Articles" map at wp:NRHPPROGRESS. I also notice a whole lot of redlinks in Template:Protected areas of Colorado, posted at the portal. I contact prolific colorado photographer User:Jeffrey Beall occasionally (and just saw notice of the portal MFD in 2019 at their Talk page i think), and I hope to visit and get pics of many more Colorado places myself this summer. I'd be happy to do a Zoom call amongst 2 or 3 or more Colorado editors about our intentions this year, say if Jeffrey could participate (and he knows others I think too), and perhaps encourage one another to split up the protect areas for articles say, or to get out for more photos. Who knows maybe even meet up camping somewhere nice, say. Can be reached at my Talk page or by email-this-user. Could Zoom most any weekday evening probably, myself. Thank you for defending the Colorado portal back in 2019. A Zoom meeting sounds like a good idea. I'll definitely participate. We have a number of articles missing from Template:Protected areas of Colorado and the List of places in Colorado. We also have a number of photographs requested in Category:Wikipedia requested photographs in Colorado. I'm currently expanding the List of places in Colorado. It has turned into a far bigger job than I anticipated. The Place Names of Colorado is a wonderful but highly detailed resource.

It became empty because it's sole content was Category:Wikipedians interested in number words, which was deleted at CfD. As you know, each of the deleted categories has four (or so) incoming links from related categories of Wikipedians. The task remains of removing those red links. I have already done some of them myself (continents, and countries in Oceania). Your edit of List of passes of the Rocky Mountains on 18:57, 26 November 2012‎ [ [3]]took all the Canadian elevations listed in meters and changed it to a value such that when converted from meters to feet would be the original number, e.g. you changed 2922 m to 890.626 so that the elevation would be listed as 890.626 meters, 2922 feet, even though the actual data is 2922 m. These errors are still on the page, except for individual items, which have been fixed. I tried to undo your edit, but the system won't let me, because there have been intervening edits. I'm sorry I don't patrol templates. National Recreation Trails are federally designated and locally maintained and protected. Regional Trails are designated and maintained by non-profit organizations (such as the American Discovery Trail Society, the Colorado Trail Foundation, the Adventure Cycling Association, and the Colorado Plateau Mountain Bike Trail Association), and are locally protected, often with the assistance of the National Forest Service and the Bureau of Land Management. Hello Buaidh.

At the page List of Colorado state wildlife areas, a recent edit of yours [4] emptied the above category I had created. My memory is a little vague, but as explained here, I believe I created this category for the the sole purpose of moving List of Colorado state wildlife areas out of Category:Wildlife management areas of the United States by state and into a better suited cat. See here.

I have now placed the the page back into the category [5], but if that was the only reason I created it in the first place, and if that's the only page that has ever populated it, then it is not a huge deal for me if it's again emptied and nominated for deletion. @ DB1729: I'm sorry I removed List of Colorado state wildlife areas from the Category:Wildlife management areas of Colorado. I've been juggling categories for scores of Colorado lists and I occasionally mess up. If you could add Category:Wildlife management areas of Colorado to the existing articles in the List of Colorado state wildlife areas it would really help. It would be wonderful if you could write a short article for any of the other state wildlife areas. They deserve attention.

Hi Buaidh, I have a concern about your recent edits of Cottonwood Pass. Since DAB pages are supposed to help readers find existing information, and Cottonwood Pass (Continental Divide) is the only 'Cottonwood Pass' that I can find mention of, it would seem that Cottonwood Pass (Continental Divide) is the primary topic and should be at the base name. Hi, Buaidh. Thanks for updating Colorado articles to have 2020 census data. I have two requests:

1. Could you add a reference to the 2020 census in the infobox? It would be great for verifiability.
2. If you're going to convert over to use sister links box, could you use {{Sister project links|auto=1}}? The default behavior can generate links to non-existent pages, while |auto=1 uses Wikidata to find linked sister projects. If there's only one real sister link, can you not use {{Sister project links}}?

Now please see Colorado municipalities. It would appear that "Town of X" or "City of X" is the "usual name" for a Colorado municipality.

In Colorado we have three types of communities:

1. Municipalities which are designated "Town of X" or "City of X."
2. Census-defined places which are usually designated "X CDP."
3. Unincorporated communities other than CDPs which are usually designated by the place name "X."

If you visit the websites of the cities and towns listed at Active Colorado Municipalities, you will see that "the usual name in English" nearly always excludes "town of" or "city of": [6] [7] [8] [9] [10]. @ Magnolia677: There are two distinct names:

1. The place name, e.g. Black Hawk, Colorado, which is usually used for the article title, but which may have multiple definitions, and
2. The municipality name, e.g. the City of Black Hawk, which has a defined legal status, area, and population.

By the way, I have been working away at List of RHPs in CO, bringing the progress map of "articled" NRHPs from this version before first (May 14) Zoom meeting to this version of August 19. One would really have to squint to see any difference, though. Trying to change color of all counties in Colorado from blue shades to red shades.
