I am moving the title of the 1966 Cotton Bowl article that you posted this morning to 1966 Cotton Bowl (January) as there were two cotton bowls played that year, one in Jan 1966 won by LSU, and the other played Dec 31st 1966 won by Georgia. The linking history of the Cotton Bowl also links to the physical year it was played, not the corresponding season (See how 2009 is already there even though that was for the 2008 season). I will edit that as well. Just wanted to give you a heads up why I am changing that. - Pparazorback ( talk) 17:33, 26 February 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for creating a few Arkansas highway articles. At the U.S. Roads WikiProject, we follow a certain set of standards that can be found at WP:USRD/STDS. Please read them and adhere to them. Thanks, Rschen7754 ( T C) 07:39, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for adding the stadium photo to the University of Arkansas template. The template definitely needing something there in the absence of the non-free logo. I'm glad someone saw the change, found a suitable replacement, and choose a good, striking image. I was going through a long list of NFCC violations, and was lazy (i.e. didn't try to find a replacement myself). Your efforts (do you mind if I call it teamwork) has not only brought the template into compliance with policy, but also visually improved it IMO. Good work. - Andrew c [talk] 01:03, 19 June 2009 (UTC)
Removal rationale is simple- in some cases, there was no rationale given on the image page, and in others, the use was a clear violation of our non-free content criteria. The logo is used decoratively. As a non-free image, it should only be used where it greatly increases the readers' understanding of a topic- basically, on the article about what it represents, or anywhere that it is worthy of discussion. Placing it in loosely related articles is really not acceptable. The fact that other articles abuse non-free content is not important- the fact is that those ones do, and so they should be dealt with. If you know of other articles that use content inappropriately, please, do your bit, and deal with them. J Milburn ( talk) 12:43, 19 June 2009 (UTC)
I noticed you uploaded File:Arkansas Interstates map.svg to commons. Would you be able to insert the Arkansas state border into this image? I think that would be helpful towards the user's comprehension of this image. If you can, thanks. Regards. -- LJ ( talk) 05:37, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
I noticed you've been creating stub articles on various Arkansas Highway articles and tagging the talk pages with the {{ U.S. Roads Wikiproject}} banner. It would be helpful if you would go ahead and tag each of these with "class=stub" and "importance=mid". If the article is very clearly a stub, it is okay to rate it as such when you add the tag, even if you're the one who worked on the article. This will help keep down the number of unassessed articles in the USRD categories, and eliminate folks (like myself) from having to go through and reassess articles that are clearly stubs to begin with. Thanks. -- LJ ( talk) 06:45, 23 September 2009 (UTC)

The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to insure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. if you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 943 article backlog. See the edit I made to Texas Recreational Road 2 to expand it [1]. WP:USRD is currently in the middle of a year-long stub elimination drive. We're working to eliminate them in 3 ways: mergers into lists where appropriate, expansion (preferably to C-Class, but Start-class works) or even creating articles at the higher assessment levels from the beginning. While article creation is beneficial to the project, please create articles that are better developed so they don't add to the stub count. Imzadi 1979 → 02:40, 19 July 2010 (UTC)

I've found a few errors on your entries for Arkansas State Highways. Many highways stop & start a number of times and don't always run concurrent with other highways ( Arkansas Highway 74 being one of the worst). Yes, Arkansas is kind of weird about all that. If you are interested, I can help you determine which highways have multiple segments vs those with multiple concurrencies US 71 ( talk) 15:19, 1 September 2010 (UTC)
Who are you trying to contact at the Arkansas State Hwy Dept? I tried poking around on their website, and the "Contact Us" page listed a phone number and a webmaster email address. Hey. Since the transportation by county categories now exist for Arkansas, and it looks like all of the state highway by county cats have been replaced with them, would you be willing to tag the state highway by county cats for speedy deletion (under WP:CSD#G7)? It'd be much easier and quicker than setting up and opening a batch CFD. – T M F 22:51, 16 November 2010 (UTC)
Back in 1990, the Cotton Bowl was universally recognized as a major bowl. It had been part of the original Bowl Coalition in 1992, but wasn't part of the Bowl Alliance in 1995. Since then, it's been one rung below the major bowls (Bowl Alliance 1995-97, BCS 1998-present). Blueboy 96 20:36, 13 December 2010 (UTC)

{{
infobox state highway system}} uses the same links and colors as {{
infobox road}}. By updating {{
infobox road/browselinks/USA}} for the AR section, both infoboxes, and all of the articles for AR that use them, got the updates. If you were copying
Michigan Highway System, you might have seen the |links=MI
part of the infobox to kick in the MI links ;) If there's something with the browselinks you want to change, just edit the AR part of the subtemplate. I put the business/spurs/scenic on a separate line, but they can be combined if you want. Do note that we normally don't put the some other types of lists in the infobox because they aren't a "type" of roadway, like lists of highways that serve state institutions or something.

I'm trying to figure out at which stadiums Louisiana Tech played their early football games. LA Tech played Centenary College in Shreveport, but I haven't been able to find out at which stadium they played. I noticed that you added that both Arkansas and Texas A&M played Centenary at State Fair Stadium in Shreveport. However, I can't find anything that confirms that to be the case. I did find this timeline from Centenary that states in 1932 "The Centenary Stadium, located on what it is known as today Centenary's baseball field, is completed. It held 15,000 spectators and was typically filled to capacity. This same year, Centenary beat LSU in the new stadium while Gov. Huey Long watched from the stands." In 1946, "The football stadium is razed following WWII." This makes me think that those games were not played at State Fair Stadium. Do you have any references that claim those games to be played at State Fair Stadium? Thanks! - AllisonFoley ( talk) 07:19, 3 January 2012 (UTC)

Brandon, I use Excel to streamline the conversion of the GNIS data to a format for the wikipage. Here’s the step by step process I use. Of course the specific Excel formula is dependent on what information you want on the list entry. Here are the steps to use after you have generated search results in GNIS.
I’ve found that I can take just about any GNIS search data using this approach and generate the complete set of list entries I need in about 5-10 minutes. It works the same with 10 or 150 entries.
Hope this helps. Let me know how you do.-- Mike Cline ( talk) 01:47, 23 March 2012 (UTC)
Arkansas Highway 284 was recently created. As you can see, I cleaned up a bunch of stuff, but still needs some work, like a lead. And a junction list. I corrected it from a two-segment to a unified highway because it doesn't have a gap at at the county line, removed the icons from the middle of the article text, cited google and my paper AHTD map, etc. I tossed in an updated citation to the database, but you'll probably need to tweak the length and stuff. If you're up for it, you might want to reach out and see if you can mentor this new editor. Imzadi 1979 → 17:45, 22 April 2012 (UTC)

It looks like the US Census has released population numbers for 2010 (look under data from the Census homepage, then go to Arkansas, then to Counties, then to Minor Civil Divisions). So, I'd suggest using those numbers. The caveat is that counties do move townships around from time to time. So, the square mileage of land and water in 2000 might be different in 2010. At a cursory glance I could not find mileage in the 2010 results. Yx7791 ( talk) 06:52, 7 May 2012 (UTC)
I located the equivalent information for 2010. So, we should use that for the townships. Yx7791 ( talk) 03:45, 8 May 2012 (UTC)
Here are samples... I've added tables with 2010 data for Baxter County, Boone County, Carroll County, and Searcy County. Changes from the original design include: 2010 census data (obviously), adding ANSI code (included with 2010 Gazetteer file), and indicating (s) for population center since some townships includes parts of two cities/towns. It seems that I cross-edited your last change to the Arkansas article. Yours (edit number 2 of the sequence of 3, to which I now refer) had followed mine (edit 1) and I didn't realize you'd made your change; yours ended up making mine look, to me, as if it had been unnecessary; you'd kindly left it in place, though. Yet, removing my change (edit 3), and leaving yours, is the best outcome. Its current form "...neither showed interest in remote development at Arkansas Post." seems best (I quote it from memory, being on my cell phone, an inefficient tool for navigating Wikipedia). Analogdrift ( talk) 20:24, 30 January 2013 (UTC)
Actually, I think that the form "...in development at remote Arkansas Post." would be most clear (since the development would have been relatively remote to the interests of France and Spain, not relatively remote to Arkansas Post).

I've found a few errors on your entries for Arkansas State Highways. Hey. Since the transportation by county categories now exist for Arkansas, and it looks like all of the state highway by county cats have been replaced with them, would you be willing to tag the state highway by county cats for speedy deletion (under WP:CSD#G7)? {{
infobox state highway system}} uses the same links and colors as {{
infobox road}}. By updating {{
infobox road/browselinks/USA}} for the AR section, both infoboxes, and all of the articles for AR that use them, got the updates.

If I don't see that you have made this change, I will do so. Analogdrift ( talk) 20:32, 30 January 2013 (UTC)
I see that one of your recent edits on Arkansas has twice been reverted by a anon user without any sort of edit summary. Perhaps you can find a reliable source to support the edit. Without it I'm afraid other editors will consider it original research and continue to revert it. It is a controversial statement that is most likely true, but it should at least be discussed on the Talk page before it is reverted/restored a third time. Best wishes! Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
