File permission problem with File:Icon paint.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Icon paint.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{ OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{ non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 07:51, 7 October 2014 (UTC) reply

Loran stations

Yeah that was my basic feeling too - I suspect that most stations were much like the other ones, so separate articles didn't seem worthwhile. If you ever saw a complete list somewhere, I'd be happy to wiki-ize it. Maury Markowitz ( talk) 15:27, 13 October 2014 (UTC) reply

Arvida = 'Arthur Vinning Davis'

What on Earth does Arvida = 'Arthur Vinning Davis' mean? Oiyarbepsy ( talk) 04:50, 15 November 2014 (UTC) reply

@ Oiyarbepsy: I have no idea but it was redlinked from the article Country Walk, Florida. I did not take the time to rewrite the article it can be fatiguing dealing with the poorly written Miami articles. B137 ( talk) 04:59, 15 November 2014 (UTC) reply

Now nominated for deletion. If you don't know what it means, you shouldn't create it. Oiyarbepsy ( talk) 05:05, 15 November 2014 (UTC) reply

@ Oiyarbepsy: That is what it means, but I will fix it in the article. St. Joe Company is a modern incarnation of Arvida, which was apparently responsible for some of the poor construction in south Dade that took place in a suburban housing boom of the 80s and early 90s when inspections were being rubber stamped. Lennar Corporation is similarly involved. B137 ( talk) 05:09, 15 November 2014 (UTC) reply
Oh, so you do known what it means. Arvida is a valid redirect, but this one is pretty nonsensical. Oiyarbepsy ( talk) 05:10, 15 November 2014 (UTC) reply

Replaceable fair use File:1969 Bristol Mountain trail map and prices.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:1969 Bristol Mountain trail map and prices.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 ( talk) 23:35, 31 March 2015 (UTC) reply

  • The instructions are at WP:FLRC; there are five steps to posting a new FLRC nomination and you skipped number 4. By not actually adding the new nomination to WP:FLRC, no one knew the nomination existed unless they had a direct link to it. Help me!

From: Help talk:Related changes Help with linked pages not showing in RecentChangesLinked

In this page, https://en.wikipedia.org/?title=Special:RecentChangesLinked&hideminor=0&target=User%3AB137%2FContributions, the recent (all) edits to Margaret Pace Park are not showing, even though it is correctly linked without a redirect from User:B137/Contributions. It does show up for the RecentChangesLinked to Alice Wainwright Park, where it is linked from a Greater Miami template. My subpage has well over 200 links on it, is there a limit to the number of links whose recent changes will be shown? Note: this has nothing to do with selecting more or older changes to show. Even when they were the most recent edits of a linked page, they did not show. Thank you. B137 ( talk) 03:10, 16 November 2015 (UTC) reply

I'm looking into this, and I see where the issue is stemming from (there is a missing entry in the pagelinks table), but I'm not sure why yet. It may be a bug in MediaWiki. Asking around. —  Earwig  talk 05:12, 16 November 2015 (UTC) reply
Okay, this appears to be a known issue ( T117332). A null edit fixed it, as expected. —  Earwig  talk 05:45, 16 November 2015 (UTC) reply
Thank you. A null edit specifically to the page, or to a tech page to solve the issue on a larger scale? If this is happening to me for any other link I am not aware of it, but will try the purge trick if I see it again. I use User:B137/Contributions as my watchlist. B137 ( talk) 05:54, 16 November 2015 (UTC) reply
Right, a null edit to User:B137/Contributions. As I understand it, that tells MediaWiki to rebuild the link data for that page, which can sometimes become corrupted. I don't think there is a way for us regular folk to update link data for a bunch of pages en masse, since it's hard on the server. —  Earwig  talk 05:58, 16 November 2015 (UTC) reply

Downtown Miami help

Hi, your edit(s) creating a disambiguation page Downtown Miami make an apparently appropriate distinction between the historic downtown business core and a greater downtown area. But it has left about 300 incoming links that need to be disambiguated. Perhaps you are familiar with the area, and could help sort these out? It is easy to help by going to https://tools.wmflabs.org/dplbot/dab_fix_list.php?title=Downtown_Miami and clicking on "fix" for any one item that you can possibly fix. If the links are not fixed, it is likely many of them will be de-linked by editors participating in wp:DPL like myself, who are not familiar with the area. I hope you can help. Either way, thank you for your contributions. do ncr am 05:30, 26 November 2015 (UTC) reply

@ Doncram: Sure I will help. I can tell you what is not appropriate though, a mass removal of the links that lead to " Downtown Miami". While there be some over linking, I have tried to only link a limited number of occurrences in pages I have worked on. One way to make a distinction is that if it is in the middle of a sentence and 'Downtown' is capitalized then it is likely refering to the greater area, and if course if it uses 'greater' or 'area'. But 'downtown Miami' would almost certainly refer to the core, what was historically referred to as just 'downtown' when the neighborhoods around it were not with high rises or needing to spammed in a way of putting it. B137 ( talk) 15:54, 26 November 2015 (UTC) reply
Thank you. I agree that mass removal of links that have been set up, instead of properly disambiguating them, would be unfortunate. I hate editors going around and destroying connections that have been set up; it is part of why I participate in the wp:DPL project, to try to limit the damage that it sometimes does. Anyhow, I see now that there are no incoming links to Downtown Miami remaining; i hope you were able to fix/save them. Cheers, -- do ncr am 19:42, 28 November 2015 (UTC) reply

Thank you. Stefan2 ( talk) 01:08, 11 January 2016 (UTC) reply

A tag has been placed on Thiel Audio requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.   Velella   Velella Talk   22:30, 28 April 2016 (UTC) reply

Your edits to the climate of Miami article

It seems for years you have created and maintained a bias empire on this article. If you continue this behaviour, I need to report you fabrication of facts and synthesis of unrelated material. If you don't want to be labeled as a vandal, you need to refrain from such behavior. Berkserker ( talk) 03:35, 12 June 2016 (UTC) reply

@ Berkserker: The material is all cited. Koppen is one single arbitration entity that bases on one metric. Other than spam tourism, very few adamantly maintain that southeastern Florida is "truly tropical", as they weasel word it. B137 ( talk) 03:39, 12 June 2016 (UTC) reply
Citing news reports of invasive species dying or proving the existence of cold snaps isn't climatology. Cold snaps occur in most tropical zones outside the extreme proximity of the equator, it is just part of the climate. The cold snaps also affect the mean temps, if it didn't then the average would be over 75 Fahrenheit. Since cold snaps are already in the data, the classification is correct. Also invasive species in other regions with tropical climates also die from cold snaps. All these irrelevant details are presented in a synthesis to create a biased point of view, let alone all the little details and figures slightly being buffered to help this cause. The article in its entirety has just one purpose, to debunk its classification. Even with all the citations and "proofs" laid out in the article, you are actually proving it is a tropical climate not otherwise. All those are a part of the climate definition like I just said. And yes, mean temp. is just a single criterion to determine climate (which is met by +5 degrees), also precipitation and other factors determine a region's climate. South Florida has all the tropical climate types (monsoonal, savanna, rainforest) in different regions, and exhibits all their characteristics accurately. Berkserker ( talk) 03:53, 12 June 2016 (UTC) reply
@ Berkserker: It barely meets the criteria for January. Weather in January and February is unique for a nearly tropical location, in that it is on the northern fringes and landlocked. B137 ( talk) 04:11, 12 June 2016 (UTC) reply
It is well above the threshold, please don't make me repeat this one more time. Questioning 4-5 degrees of difference is like claiming Boston has a subtropical climate or Los Angeles and San Francisco have the same winter averages. I can come up with a million examples like this. Then somebody else can come up and claim that North Florida is tropical. What you are doing here is no different. Berkserker ( talk) 05:10, 12 June 2016 (UTC) reply
With recently updated figures, it is several degrees above Koppen's threshold, but that is just one metric, it is not the end all be all. B137 ( talk) 19:09, 12 June 2016 (UTC) reply
This statement is incorrect. Check your sources. Berkserker ( talk) 05:21, 13 June 2016 (UTC) reply

Daniel, I am not here to get you blocked or anything, I am just expecting some cooperation and respect (both to me and scholars). Berkserker ( talk) 04:34, 15 June 2016 (UTC) reply

I have been fairly busy in real life but let me just break the fourth wall here and say this is a ridiculous overreaction. The article starts out with and only includes that is is a tropical climate according to Koppen in the first paragraph. But to say a place that has recorded snow flurries and has had multiple instances of freezing weather, as well as weather that kills tropical flora and fauna, and then you add to that that it is literally outside the tropics and is also landlocked to the north, allowing occasional cold fronts that align just right to have little modification from water as Key West sees and even Miami Beach sees, enough for their all time record low to be five degrees Fahrenheit over Miami's. And when I say the data has recently changed. I mean that Miami (and much of the United States) moved up a half step in plant hardiness rating for the 2012 update, so if anything climate chage/AGW is now relevant to the discussion. The monthly averages chart has increased over the past five years as well.
Where are your and your scholars' sources? And how about an explanation for Koppen's single metric to determine the world's climate? B137 ( talk) 01:22, 16 June 2016 (UTC) reply

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Kingdom Tower, Jeddah, render.jpg

Thank you for uploading File:Kingdom Tower, Jeddah, render.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Marchjuly ( talk) 05:53, 16 August 2016 (UTC) reply

Proposed deletion of ÏCE Condominiums at York Centre

The article ÏCE Condominiums at York Centre has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No claim of notability.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. A tag has been placed on SkyscraperPage, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

File permission problem with File:SteamTractor.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:SteamTractor.jpg.

You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

A tag has been placed on Murderapolis requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2008 October 27. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. @ Donald Albury: the source has the Estimates and the decennial Censuses of 2010 and 2020. 204,851 is the April 1 2020 number not 2019 estimate which was already in the article. B137 ( talk) 18:40, 9 September 2021 (UTC) reply

I apolgize for my misreading of the citations. The page was confusing. You added the 2020 population to the Demographics section, but not to the lead paragraph or to the infobox at the top of the page and left the 2019 estimates in all three places. Replaceable fair use File:1101 panorama tower render medium for wiki fair use.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:1101 panorama tower render medium for wiki fair use.jpg.

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{ Di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.

Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification, per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

1 Southside Park moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, 1 Southside Park, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more in-depth coverage about the subject itself, with citations from reliable, independent sources in order to show it meets WP:GNG. It should have at least three, to be safe. And please remember that interviews, as primary sources, do not count towards GNG.( ?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed ( verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.

@ Oiyarbepsy: Yes, and I agree with it being deleted. I shouldn't have been so hasty. To be transparent I did almost find the link humourous, which may have persuaded me to botch it. B137 ( talk) 05:13, 15 November 2014 (UTC) reply
@ Oiyarbepsy: Lo and behold, a one time contributor changed it from Lennar to Arvida (ARthur VIning DAvis): /info/en/?search=Special:Contributions/Peanutsandbutter without understanding project syntax. B137 ( talk) 05:24, 15 November 2014 (UTC) reply

Thanks for uploading File:Imperial2.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Stefan2 ( talk) 19:33, 4 April 2015 (UTC) reply

Wikipedia:Featured list removal candidates/List of tallest buildings in Miami/archive1

I've closed the FLRC nomination of List of tallest buildings in Miami you made; as far as I can tell you never actually posted it to WP:FLRC and so no one ever saw it that you didn't directly invite. Feel free to renominate it correctly in the future. -- Pres N 18:37, 3 May 2015 (UTC) reply

  • @ PresN: What did I do wrong? As far as the article I improved the sourcing somewhat but it is still fairly dubious. I had a feeling something like that was going on. I edited the FLRC so many times I thought someone important would see it eventually. B137 ( talk) 18:59, 3 May 2015 (UTC) reply
  • The instructions are at WP:FLRC; there are five steps to posting a new FLRC nomination and you skipped number 4. By not actually adding the new nomination to WP:FLRC, no one knew the nomination existed unless they had a direct link to it. Since the nomination had been sitting stale for 6 months, I just went ahead and closed it. Feel free to make a new nomination if you want, just make sure to do all 5 steps this time. -- Pres N 04:10, 4 May 2015 (UTC) reply

I'm looking into this, and I see where the issue is stemming from (there is a missing entry in the pagelinks table), but I'm not sure why yet. It may be a bug in MediaWiki. Asking around. —  Earwig  talk 05:12, 16 November 2015 (UTC) reply

Thank you. A null edit specifically to the page, or to a tech page to solve the issue on a larger scale?

Proposed deletion of ÏCE Condominiums at York Centre

The article ÏCE Condominiums at York Centre has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

File permission problem with File:SteamTractor.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:SteamTractor.jpg.

You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

ATTENTION: This is an automated, BOT-generated message. This bot DID NOT nominate your file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot ( talk) 03:00, 4 January 2017 (UTC) reply

Highest point in Miami-Dade County

Could you please provide a reliable source for the change you made at the highest elevation for Miami-Dade County, Florida. You left the citation for the previous entry in the infobox, so that the figure you entered is not supported by the cited source. Donald Albury 13:58, 6 September 2022 (UTC) reply

Replaceable fair use File:1101 panorama tower render medium for wiki fair use.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:1101 panorama tower render medium for wiki fair use.jpg.

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{ Di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.

Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification, per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Thanks, FastilyBot ( talk) 09:00, 20 October 2022 (UTC) reply

Nashua climate data

Hello, I appreciated your update to the climate narrative in the Nashua, New Hampshire, article. I reverted it, however, because it was unreferenced. When you provide the references that will support your new figures, could you also please update the climate table directly below the narrative paragraph, so that the data is consistent throughout? Thank you very much! Ken Gallager ( talk) 12:35, 6 July 2023 (UTC) reply

@ Ken Gallager: Better revert the new climate box showing 1991 to 2020 data too then because that's where the numbers came from. B137 ( talk) 22:13, 6 July 2023 (UTC) reply
Got it. Then please update the text, since your update brought it to our attention. And please take heed of the comment below and avoid making things personal. Best wishes, -- Ken Gallager ( talk) 12:13, 7 July 2023 (UTC) reply

July 2023

Please stop attacking other editors, as you did on Nashua, New Hampshire. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Comment on content, not on other contributors or people. Read WP:CIVIL, search for "avoid name-calling". Your edit summary would generally be good for a block. And your edit is still uncited, for both statements. There is a difference between a statement being accurate and a statement being usable on Wikipedia, see WP:V. Tarl N. ( discuss) 04:39, 7 July 2023 (UTC) reply
