Hi Avenue, I saw you've done some work on Mavericks (location). Thank you! I started a gallery. Some of the images only show spectators, but IMO it is important too. Many people, who come to see the waves, do not realize that they are so far off the shore that one actually needs a good binoculars to see them. Also most people do not realize that to actually see anything at all one should climb a very steep cliff (beach is too low to see the waves behind other waves). I will upload few more images for the gallery in the next few days. If you believe the article will be better off without the gallery, please tell me, and I will delete it. Best wishes.-- Mbz1 ( talk) 06:52, 15 February 2010 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on File:Rangitoto from Achilles Point.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image page for a missing or corrupt image or an empty image description page for a Commons-hosted image.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{
hangon}}
to the top of
the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on
the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.

<Old comments copied from Talk:Wolverine#Wolverines in captivity removed -- Avenue ( talk) 18:44, 6 July 2010 (UTC)>
Not so fast. I don't believe less than four hours on 9 May 2010 is enough time to achieve consensus. In the USA, the Bush administration refused to give Wolverines endangered species protection, however, that decision could be reversed by the Obama administration. According to the isis website there are approximately only 104 wolverines in captivity worldwide! Wolverines are a very rare and special animal. (It is not like listing all the goats or sheep in the world.) I believe the captivity information is very helpful. Especially with links to the specific zoos that have wolverines. If some people feel this information is "listy and full of excessive detail" or "trivial" the perhaps there is another way. If all else fails a separate wiki article on wolverines in captivity could be started. Please respond with some creative suggestions other than deletion. Thanks Citizen-of-wiki (talk) 23:44, 2 July 2010 (UTC)
Please respond on the wolverine discussion page. Citizen-of-wiki ( talk) 23:54, 2 July 2010 (UTC)
Dear Avenue,
I was looking for some refs to support the retention of an intetesting scholar: Richard J H Matthews. I noticed that you included a reference to his works as perhaps the only proper ref. under further reading in Māori_influence_on_New_Zealand_English. The refs is R. J. H. Matthews (1984). Maori Influence on New Zealand English. World Englishes 3 (3), 156–159. doi:10.1111/j.1467-971X.1984.tb00597.x
Do you know any other sources or have any other information for him? If not don't worry and thanks for you time. Best wishes ( Msrasnw ( talk) 16:52, 7 July 2010 (UTC))
Hi, Avenue. I was wondering if it is still possible to create orthographic projection maps such as the one you did at Media:New Zealand (orthographic projection) 2.svg? Hi Avenue! Hope everything's going well. I see you've made some wonderful contributions lately.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{
hangon}}
to the top of
the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on
the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.

<Old comments copied from Talk:Wolverine#Wolverines in captivity removed -- Avenue ( talk) 18:44, 6 July 2010 (UTC)>
Am I correct in thinking it was created from the data at http://gmt.soest.hawaii.edu/ ? I would like to create one of these maps for something I'm working on, but I'm not sure how to do it. Are there instructions anywhere, or can you give me a brief tutorial, please? Regards, Matthewedwards : Chat 15:41, 21 July 2010 (UTC)
Hi Avenue! Hope everything's going well. I see you've made some wonderful contributions lately. I don't know if you're interested, but I and a few others (Ruslik, Awickert, Mikenorton) have been sprucing up Armero tragedy. It's not nearly done in terms of content yet... I still have a good ten to fifteen sources to include, but if you could, I'd appreciate your help with copyediting the article. Your assistance and input were invaluable throughout Nevado del Ruiz' FAC candidacy, and I have intentions of bringing this one to FA for the 25th anniversary in November. No problem if you can't, thanks. ceran thor 02:14, 23 July 2010 (UTC)

Hi Avenue. At the moment Huia is going thru its nomination process as a featured article at Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Huia/archive1. One of the reviewers has queried NZ Geographic (or an article in it by Szabo) as a quality source. I think it's a fine quality source - if you have an opinion it would be nice to have backup on the FA page. Any other input there or tweaks to the article would also be great if you feel so inclined. Hi Avenue, the Royal Society of New Zealand have changed there internet domain name, thus breaking all of their journal url links (clicking on the old link mostly sends you to a page that does tell you what the new link is, although some of the ones that I've added now point to a different journal). I've gone through most of the fault and earthquake ones, updating the urls, but I guess there's a lot of others out there. Mikenorton ( talk) 14:37, 12 October 2010 (UTC)
Hi Avenue, I fixed the image File:Sunset with Cirrus clouds at Land's End in San Francisco .jpg, but I do not know, when the editor, who nominated it, will see the change and transfer it to commons, unless you could transfer this yourself.
