Would you like to conduct a GA review on Dookudu Pavanjandhyala ( talk) 09:51, 29 December 2014 (UTC)
Hey it is not really recommended that you edit the article and make changes to it when you are doing the GAN of the same. It's not wrong though. I suggest you let Pavan make the changes to the article himself. That gives him the satisfaction of a GAN too. Cheers, ƬheStrike Σagle 13:37, 29 December 2014 (UTC)

I noticed that in Chandramukhi, several Hindu links had unneeded apostrophes in their URLs (eg: "todays" was written as "today's" in many URLs), rendering them inaccessible. Was that your unintentional doing? But never mind, its been solved. Ssven2, I have rolled back all of your edits to Tintin in Tibet, as neither of those two pieces of information are correct. I will explain, but first please be more careful in the future: This article is FA and I went through a great deal of scrutiny from around a dozen editors and over a hundred observations of theirs to get the article to this point, so I believe it is probably in good shape. For your first piece of added information, you must not have read the footnote appearing right next to the footnote you added, which directly contradicts your incorrect information and which apparently comes from your WP:OR (and it even directly contradicts a DYK from this article). For your second piece of added information, I checked the strange source you provided and it says nothing of the sort and reveals that this incorrect information is apparently more OR; a quick check of IMDb gives the real story. I appreciate your attempts to help. Prhartcom ( talk) 13:11, 10 February 2015 (UTC)

Hi. A difficult situation. I don't think the prose is of such a concern that it should be immediately withdrawn. But I do think Sandy's comments and the response since is unlikely to convince the delegates that it's ready for FAC. Whatever Sandy has said to Tim, he didn't actually support it. Perhaps the best thing would be to withdraw for now, and try to get some more copyeditors on it. Like SRK though it's difficult to see where the support is going to come from, even withdrawing and renominating at a later stage. Indian cinema articles in general really suffer at FAC, I don't think many take them seriously, Indian English and customs is often at odds with some of the reviewers. When I said it had FA potential though I meant it, and I'm rarely wrong about that. Sorry I wasn't of more use in the earlier stages, Sandy had a point about a fair bit of it, but I always have a job finding those minor MoS glitches. In its current condition I can't see any major problem with it, but what do I know...? .Also best to avoid using graphic smileys at FAC as they make you look like a thirteen-year-old! ♦ Dr. Blofeld 20:56, 14 March 2015 (UTC)
Hi, guys. For the record, the source that I was referring to as unusable was the one which stated that all the plagiarism claims were false, because the source (a website) stated that the information came from "Wiki". I don't know which Wiki he was referring to, but we can't use information from Wikipedia or any other Wiki as a source. This is the reference to which I was referring: Endhiran. Notice that at the end it says "(Content source: Wiki)". That will not pass muster at FAC. The rest of the plagiarism section looked all right to me, but I didn't scrutinize all the refs.- RHM22 ( talk) 21:02, 15 March 2015 (UTC)

Hi Ssven- there's nothing wrong with redlinks per se- quite the opposite, in fact. Per WP:REDLINK, "Red links for subjects that should have articles but do not, are not only acceptable, but needed in the articles. They serve as a clear indication of which articles are in need of creation, and encourage it. Do not remove red links unless you are certain that Wikipedia should not have an article on that subject." For more information, see this signpost op-ed I wrote recently. Thank you for doing this, but I see a few issues. I think when the original link is still alive, it is best to put a "|deadurl=no" argument in the citation, so that it will pull up the original. Also, I spot checked just two references and found one in error. The ref for "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge: Lesser Known facts" now pulls up the archived link to "Saif was to romance Kajol", which is obviously wrong. There could be more, so now I have to check them all. BollyJeff | talk 22:32, 30 May 2015 (UTC)

I think Indians suffer from a disorder that causes them to refer to most action films as thrillers, what do you think? This is evident from Samyamoy's edits on Sivaji and Enthiran. Glad you enjoyed Gun Crazy. Definitely one of the best "on the run" films. Great bush fight finale in it too! Have you really not seen Bicycle Thieves yet? That's a great one, Krimuk 90's candidate for greatest film ever. The Snake Pit also for 1948 springs to mind, now that's crazy. Havilland should have won the Oscar for that! BTW, why don't you just merge the different lists into one by year, it makes it much easier to follow. Also I don't see the point in adding a massive gallery in which you have to scroll down for a few minutes to get to the next section! Just do an image for best film of the year by section or something!♦ Dr. Blofeld 17:17, 16 December 2015 (UTC)
@ Dr. Blofeld: Gable, Kelly, Gardner and the look of the film was good enough for me to give it the full monty (Gardner's lovely in it too). After your recent edits in Server Sundaram, I wanted to say this: I am not sure whether visitor columns satisfy WP:RS, as Behindwoods clearly states often like they did here, "Behindwoods.com isn't responsible for the views expressed by the visitor in this column. The visitor claims that this column is his/her own." If it is a plot detail, I think you can include a DVD reference as a replacement. The popular dialogue also appears here. Hi Ssven- in case you haven't seen, someone's gone ahead and (tried to) renominate this article. I've cleaned up the nomination, but I don't know whether a speedy close (or some other kind of action- I saw you mention sockpuppetry...) might be necessary. Just letting you know so that you can do something (or explain to me/someone else what needs doing) if necessary. Josh Milburn ( talk) 17:27, 11 July 2015 (UTC)
You saw it? I saw it twice and loved it so so much. Really I was blown away. I have neither seen Magadheera nor Eega, but after this S.S.Rajamouli is one of my favorite directors. All the actors were great, but Ramya Krishnan steals the show. I didnt thought I would like it so much. The music was again a brilliant addition to the film along with the mind boggling cinematography, art direction and VFX. The VFX in two scenes felt very fake that's due to fast frame rate in avalanche scene, But as whole it was by far the best vfx used in indian film. Now, I can't wait for the sequel.— Prashant 05:07, 12 July 2015 (UTC)
I should have done this a long time ago: In this article, Sudhish Kamath calls Enthiran a blend of genres: "Enthiran is simultaneously a superhero film, a sci-fi adventure, a triangular love story with a hint of the Ramayana (the villain even compares the abducted heroine Sana to Sita) and the message Shankar is known to churn out." How would you suggest adding the info on the genres into the themes section? Kailash29792 ( talk) 07:55, 13 July 2015 (UTC)

Did you watched Bajrangi Bhaijaan? Well, I did and was so much bored in the first few minutes that it made Twilight series a better franchise. I went thinking that the film will be good if not brilliant going by the trailers and trust me this awful piece of mind numbing film made me sick (I dont rate a Salman Khan film by a diiferent parameter that it is a salman khan film like critics does). That awful acting by the cast and crap story-screenplay failed to made me cry like what critics said. Its so sad that a film like this has affected the brilliant Baahubali. That one scene (Kattapa touching Baahubali leg with his head) made me teary eyed than this entire film.— Prashant 05:36, 20 July 2015 (UTC)

The former is now the highest grossing South Indian movie, with over ₹300 crore earnings and beating Enthiran. But that is from all the language versions of the movie. How does it still deserve to be called the highest grossing Tamil movie? I doubt if that version alone could have collected so much. Pavan, what do you think? I can't believe this, i've never loved a remake. But this film is an exception (maybe the original is as brilliant as this, haven't seen). I wonder why south indian filmmakers are always ten step ahead of Bollywood? This thriller really knows how to thrill and trust me i have never used my brain so much during a film because i wanted to know what;s gonna happen next. This was a real edge of the seat thriller. Ajay Devgan should stop making Singhams and Golmaals, as he is a great actor and proves this yet again. Shriya Sharan was brilliant and Tabu (my god) delivers a Blockbuster performance. Now i need to watch the original film.— Prashant 17:34, 2 August 2015 (UTC)
Yes! Devgan and Saran look very fit in the film. But i don't have any problem with that because now-a-days people are very fitness concious, this might be a reason in the film (never given though). But i think that no one really prepared for the film in terms of their looks since its a small film.— Prashant 10:49, 3 August 2015 (UTC)

Bonjour,Ssven2,
Ferdinand LACOUR.
Haha is it me or does [8] he (see 0:46) look like a master film director rather than a guitarist! Stanley Kubrick esque.♦ Dr. Blofeld 20:52, 10 September 2015 (UTC)
Read your long reply at Veera Dheera Sooran's tp. Let me tell you something. It is not at all wrong to choose actors/actresses from other industries and regions. Kamal Haasan refers himself as an Indian actor, not Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam etc., because anywhere you are going to act. If you call language as a barrier, Telugu cinema could have missed Geethanjali, Ye Maya Chesave and Manam, Malayalam cinema could have missed Amitabh Bachchan in their films.
I mentioned that the female lead role is written horribly, that was a remark on the director. In Pandiya Naadu, the cinematography, music and editing were good, esp. second half. Scenes towards the end, in the market where Vishal has to save Bharathiraja were excellent. But, that song after Menon visits Vishal's office is not at all required. I sincerely don't know why all praised Gautham Menon for Jessie, she's a confused soul in all ways, weak like a twig. Same is the case of Maya and Nithya in Kaakha Kaakha and Neethaane En Ponvasantham. Similar is the case of your Indian Stanley Kubrick's directorials. Accepted that his situation was worse towards the end, but is all the torture Surya gave to Chandini in A's first half justifiable?
I don't know what a strong female character means, but i don't want a fragile glass piece that either shivers or just glitters throughout a film. PS : I and Vensatry really had some long discussion what made the jury award Haasan for Race Gurram. I have no complaints with any of the actresses you mentioned, but i personally feel that Samantha has stopped hamming in the recent past and i find her more tolerable now. Do you have the pages from Danny's 2011 book? If so, you could edit the plot according to that. BTW, I've ordered a hardcover of Pride, and it should arrive by Sep. 25. Kailash29792 ( talk) 13:29, 17 September 2015 (UTC)
( edit conflict) Well, then how about taking out "serial killer"?:
I took out "completely" before "oblivious". "Oblivious" is enough. You're either oblivious or you're not. There really is no half-way with obliviousness.
In the fourth paragraph in the section Anniyan#Plot you have this sentence:
What is the "dramatic publicity stunt"? (I know I added "dramatic" in an earlier edit; I think it was replacing another word that didn't sound right. But even then I wasn't sure what this was referring to.) Why mention this if you're not going to describe the publicity stunt? Or is his appearance in the stadium itself that is the publicity stunt? If so, then "Following" is the wrong word. It would then have to be "In a dramatic publicity stunt,..." Corinne ( talk) 02:07, 18 September 2015 (UTC)

Can you do some paraphrasing here? Some of the quotes, like Dhananjayan's in "Themes" and Ratnam's in "Retrospective reviews", really need it. Kailash29792 ( talk) 08:06, 17 November 2015 (UTC)
I have nominated it for FAC. Do post comments if necessary or make improvements. But most important, it needs reviewers. Kailash29792 ( talk) 08:32, 9 November 2015 (UTC)
This source has a hell lot of information about the film, and has already been used in the article, but only a few times. But it is hard for me to read Tamil. I guess you can do something about it, i.e. add more info to the article from it. You can also help me solve the FAC comments I am unable to solve. Kailash29792 ( talk) 14:25, 28 November 2015 (UTC)

For the barnstar! :-) Sorry but I think you need to G-7 the screenshots from In the Heat of the Night. The copyright notice sneaks in at the end of the trailer at between 2:25 and 2:30. I know you didn't see it so no harm done. ;) We hope ( talk) 12:26, 19 September 2015 (UTC)
By G-7 she means put the uploads up for speedy deletion as copyvios.♦ Dr. Blofeld 19:44, 19 September 2015 (UTC)
To me it's better to do it this way than to have anyone else put them up as copyvios. If you want a laugh, I was told a file was to go for speedy deletion just a little while ago. When I looked at it, it was a photo of a private plane. I knew nothing about the photo; after untangling everything, found what I'd worked with was a photo of a Shakespearean actor circa 1905. I'd moved and redirected the photo because there was a plane photo at Commons with the same file name back in May. :D We hope ( talk) 01:09, 20 September 2015 (UTC)

You recall that in this film, Chandru (Pratap) visits a psychiatrist to deal with his mental disorder? And that after Inspector Raghunath (Calcutta Viswanathan) captures him, he is incarcerated in a psychiatric hospital for life? In these cases, would the category Films set in psychiatric hospitals fit in the article? Just asking. I also feel Pratap was kind of a vigilante, killing immoral people (prostitutes), but still not regarded a hero by the law. Kailash29792 ( talk) 09:30, 27 September 2015 (UTC)
@ Kailash29792: Regarding your comment at the GAR — "Thanks. But some of the reviews are modern day ones. They still good here?" — Even Moondram Pirai's reviews are modern day ones (save the usual one — Ananda Vikatan). — Ssven2 Speak 2 me 13:37, 28 September 2015 (UTC)

The article is close to meeting the good article criteria, but there are some minor changes or clarifications needing to be addressed. For future reference, that page is maintained by a bot. In order to edit the notes on that page you have to edit the actual nomination. So you would have to go to Talk:Moodu Pani, edit the page, and remove the note inside the GAN template. It is alright to leave it however, since you notified the reviewer. I feel bad when the same audience who like films such as Kick, Dhoom 3, Krrish 3 and CE, try to judge a better but experimental or say a different film. I mean why double standards. Even the critics are brainwashing these viewers, they said "BB is the best Salman Khan movie in a long time (2.5 stars)" and then they said about a film "this film tries too hard but falls flat on its face (2.5 stars)". I mean what these Indian critics are trying to do? Its feels like same grades are being given to two different students, to one with a smile and another with a warning. What do you think about this? Each soundtrack site gives a different version of the same soundtrack (I mean, mostly the same songs, but different order of tracklisting). Raaga.com has 10 of the 11 songs, while Music India Online has all 11 songs. EROS Now too has the soundtrack, but omits information on the lyricists. The tracklisting order differs in the sites. MIO lists the song "Gnana Pazhathai" as being written by Sankaradas Swamigal, despite Dhananjayan mentioning "Pazham Neeyappa" as being that poet's writing. How do we solve this dilemma? Before any expansion begins we need to go through it and ensure it's all verifiable. I've made a decent start on sorting out the sourcing and have tagged all that needs to be sourced. Don't worry so much for sourcing the film titles in the mid sections as that will be expanded and fully written anyway. BTW for books you can paste book urls into [11] . It's just I notice you tend to go for web sources. I'm the opposite, I go for books as often as I can because that makes them for me :-)♦ Dr. Blofeld 18:14, 14 October 2015 (UTC)
Once again you appear to want to edit war over the date formats. Not sure what brought this on again, but I'll tell you that WP:DATERET was conceived so that we wouldn't be edit warring over date formats. DATERET works fine when everyone agrees to its simple rules. The main rule being that we don't change the date format simply because we don't like them. Your contention that since another article uses DMY, then the Cary Grant article should use DMY is not based on any policy or guideline. It's based on your preference. But the reason that the Alfred Hitchcock article uses DMY is because the first date format in THAT article was DMY. Just as the first date format used in the Cary Grant article was MDY. We don't go around changing them later and then edit war over the issue. JOJ Hutton 18:29, 26 November 2015 (UTC)
I may order the first two Cary Grant books tomorrow, which two would you recommend me getting first? I should have O'Hara at GA by the end of the month. Looking forward to working on Grant with you in December, I've changed my mind and think he's worth doing! I'm planning on Ginger Rogers and Richard Burton after that. I think Burton, perhaps with the exception of Olivier, might have just been the most talented actor I've ever seen, brilliant talent, but I believe he never came close to being as big as he could have been because he couldn't care less about his career and was an alcoholic. He was wildly underrated as an actor. If you've not seen Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? (film) I urge you to watch asap, I'm, convinced it's some of the best acting ever committed to celluloid! I'm going to begin seeing the remainder of her films I've not seen. When researching an actor I think it's always best to see most of their films before writing and to really understand their work better. I did that with Philip Seymour Hoffman and Meryl Streep, I didn't have time to watch all of Steiger's and Sinatra's though haha! I'll see the remainder of Grant's films as it gets written too. I suggest you also try to see as many of Grant's films as possible too as it starts to get written. I do believe the understanding of an actor's work shines through when the writer as actually seen most of their works and knows what he/she's talking about!♦ Dr. Blofeld 15:36, 9 November 2015 (UTC)

I believe you've seen Jewel of the Nile and know she was hot but watch her in Prizzi's Honor with Jack Nicholson, one of the sexiest actresses ever! She's great in Crimes of Passion too but despite her sexual role in it, oddly not as alluring as in Prizzi's. Her in that has to go down among the all time sexiest performances. Turner was to the 80s in hotness as Dunaway was to the 70s and Sharon Stone to the 90s! Prizzi's Honor was great but a bit flawed, Nicholson I think was miscast (Al Pacino would have been more convincing), though had excellent interaction with Turner in it.♦ Dr. Blofeld 22:31, 28 December 2015 (UTC)

Hi Ssven2, I just wanted to say again that The Castafiore Emerald is looking really good. I have seen many editors come along over the years and try to improve the Tintin articles, and your commitment has topped them all. You remind me of Bob de Moor who perfectly emulated the style of Hergé. Maybe I can step in with my copies of the sources and improve the article as well. Cheers.

And I think the latter film, though it does have many action scenes, I think it qualifies as more of a sci fi than action. Kailash29792 ( talk) 07:08, 13 June 2015 (UTC)
I was wandering today and found your list once again, but with a doubt. If you don't mind, can you please tell me what made you gave all the three - , and for Munna Bhai M. B. B. S. and SVSC? I can understand that Sagara Sangamam, Sankarabharanam and other devotional films make you feel those emotions. But what made you find these three in SVSC? AR made me watch KB's TM later. I have my own issues with AR, mainly the character looks, pace and irritating subtitling running out of sync sometimes. Before you wrote this list, i watched Parasakthi (4/5), Dalapathi (4/5), Navaratri (3.5/5) and Amaidhi Padhai (3.25/5). Veeram was better than Jilla (2/5) IMHO. Both were dubbed into Telugu and the latter is yet to release. Pavanjandhyala ( talk) 15:55, 23 June 2015 (UTC)
Krimuk90 wants to review Drushyam. Dr. Blofeld is the obvious choice for Missamma. Hence the only article i am left with is S/O Satyamurthy. The main advantage of Wikipedia:WikiProject Film/Indian cinema/Tamil cinema task force, in my view, is to properly collect, classify and organise all Indian Tamil films, especially their GAs and FAs. That's why I created the page. But I cannot expand it on par with other task forces, and I hope you know how to. Kailash29792 ( talk) 11:15, 28 June 2015 (UTC)
Hey! Have you seen my list of films that I have seen? Do you agree with it?— Prashant 11:04, 3 July 2015 (UTC)
See you need beefing up on 1955. Highly recommend Smiles of a Summer Night (one of the wittiest films with the sharpest script ever), Rififi and Kiss Me Deadly (two of the greatest crime films ever made) and The Rose Tattoo, one of my personal favourites and one of the most neurotic films ever made haha in an Oscar winning performance!♦ Dr. Blofeld 16:23, 8 December 2015 (UTC)
One which you'll enjoy is Gun Crazy.♦ Dr. Blofeld 11:51, 10 December 2015 (UTC)
Ah you saw White Heat and Scarlet Street afterwards. I knew you'd like them!♦ Dr. Blofeld 12:48, 10 December 2015 (UTC)
Suzy Kendall and Susan George, separated at birth!♦ Dr. Blofeld 15:40, 12 December 2015 (UTC)
A Countess from Hong Kong the same rating as Ferris Bueller?? ♦ Dr. Blofeld 16:35, 12 December 2015 (UTC)
Ooo, one which springs to mind which you'll like is BUtterfield 8. I think it's one of Taylor's best performances. Laurence Harvey terrific in it too. I see you saw Manchurian Candidate which he was in, great film! Harvey was a terrific actor and really underrated.♦ Dr. Blofeld 17:34, 12 December 2015 (UTC)
Kelly's lovely in every film she's in, though (especially in colour). Salma Hayek could've done the Ramirez girl role, if she were born then. — Ssven2 Speak 2 me 10:15, 18 December 2015 (UTC)
Jackie Brown is Tarantino's best IMO after Pulp Fiction.♦ Dr. Blofeld 11:52, 18 December 2015 (UTC)
"By contrast, John Wayne told an interviewer that he considered High Noon "the most un-American thing I've ever seen in my whole life".[19] In 1959, Wayne teamed up with director Howard Hawks to make Rio Bravo as a conservative response. "I made Rio Bravo because I didn't like High Noon," Hawks explained." -and he succeeded too. Rio Bravo is one of my favourite westerns. Have watched it on DVD at least five times!♦ Dr. Blofeld 14:21, 18 December 2015 (UTC)

Shanghai Noon, yeah I rated that one extraordinarily highly I suppose, but it's one of those films which are extremely enjoyable and actually brilliantly made!♦ Dr. Blofeld 05:21, 13 July 2015 (UTC)

And as far as c/e goes, Magadheera's list was c/ed by the veteran copy-editor Baffle gab1978 in just four edits upon a request at GOCE. This list's lead section is almost a remake of Magadheera's list. So, kindly give your opinion whether this list is ready for being nominated as a FLC. On 7 September 2015, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article List of international cricket five-wicket hauls at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Indian cricketer Javagal Srinath was the first to take a five-wicket haul in One Day Internationals at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/List of international cricket five-wicket hauls at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
While watching Annamalai (Rajinikanth and Sarath Babu) and its Telugu remake Kondapalli Raja (Venkatesh and Suman), i was reminded of a previous conversation where you spoke about Rajini's look and style in Pedarayudu similar to Annamalai.

The fact was ... that the protagonist of the 2005 film Anniyan is a grim reaper-style serial killer whose website depicts all the punishments that await sinners in hell? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Anniyan. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page ( here's how, live views, daily totals), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page. |

Hi,
Thank you for noticing that I should merge the footnotes in Marilyn Monroe! I've merged most of them now, but am unsure what to do with a couple which have two authors (Lloyd & Fuller and Riese & Hitchens), as the links don't seem to work with two names? TrueHeartSusie3 ( talk) 16:41, 13 October 2015 (UTC)TrueHeartSusie3
Watch that and Becket (1964) and you'll see what I mean.♦ Dr. Blofeld 22:20, 26 November 2015 (UTC)

Apparently you saw the harv error also, as I see you took out the 2009 version back out. Probably there were at one time inline refs for the 2009 version -> but are not there now. Maybe there are now picked up by the 2011 version of the reference source.-- Doug Coldwell ( talk) 10:50, 19 October 2015 (UTC)

I removed that Behindwoods source from the article as it was written by a Behindwoods visitor, who cannot be considered reliable. But I think this serves as a somewhat good substitute. Kailash29792 ( talk) 10:45, 15 November 2015 (UTC)
The article has been at MDY and stable for 13 years. He was also a US citizen. Being born British does not automatically make an article DMY. You seem to disagree and seem to be willing to edit war over this. I am not willing to edit war, but I am willing to discuss. Do you have a guideline to cite that explains that birth trumps DATERET? Does this source look worth adding to Chandralekha? Awesome film, I'd like to see that brought up to GA status. It's one of the best Indian films I've seen to date. The baby scenes at the beginning and the elephants ramming the fort near the end are among the all time best scenes of cinema IMO.♦ Dr. Blofeld 11:22, 22 December 2015 (UTC)

@ Dr. Blofeld: Days of Wine is incredible! Lemmon's beautiful in it! One of his best performances I must say!
