ArbCom would like to apologise and correct our previous mass message in light of the response from the community.
Since November 2018, six administrator accounts have been compromised and temporarily desysopped. In an effort to help improve account security, our intention was to remind administrators of existing policies on account security — that they are required to "have strong passwords and follow appropriate personal security practices." We have updated our procedures to ensure that we enforce these policies more strictly in the future. The policies themselves have not changed. In particular, two-factor authentication remains an optional means of adding extra security to your account. The choice not to enable 2FA will not be considered when deciding to restore sysop privileges to administrator accounts that were compromised.
We are sorry for the wording of our previous message, which did not accurately convey this, and deeply regret the tone in which it was delivered.

the committee will review all available information to determine whether the administrator followed "appropriate personal security practices" before restoring permissions; administrators found failing to have adequately done so
will not be resysopped automatically. All current administrators have been notified of this change.

The editing patterns of the IP appeared to show it to be an unauthorized bot, as its edits often flooded the queue in Huggle. I had no idea how to report this elsewhere from Huggle, so I reported it to AIV. I apologize for handling it incorrectly, I should’ve reported it to ANI. Invalid OS ( talk) 01:37, 17 June 2019 (UTC)
Bringing this up to you first since you blocked them in the past. This user has been a consistent problem when it comes to adding unsourced content (usually their own interpretations and speculation) to articles. In
this edit and
this one today, they added unsourced content and then yesterday on
Chad Gable
(diff) they added "Originally a
heel tag team, their fighting spirit, and resiliency against their larger opponents won them many fans and began a gradual
face turn"
. This is entirely their own personal analysis of a storyline. They also remove thousands of bytes of content without leaving edit summaries like they did at
List of former Impact Wrestling personnel. After a quick check they removed some names without giving any reason. They have been blocked twice and have been left multiple talk page messages.

I am new to Wikipedia as a registered user, especially to English Wikipedia. I saw on the page of a country an obvious vandalism and checked the user who did it. I saw in his Contributions history that he used his user exclusively for vandalism. What is the best approach regarding this issue? Thank you! Teutorigos ( talk) 17:30, 19 June 2019 (UTC)Teutorigos

Since the introduction of temporary user rights, it is becoming more usual to accord the New Page Reviewer right on a probationary period of 3 to 6 months in the first instance. This avoids rights removal for inactivity at a later stage and enables a review of their work before according the right on a permanent basis.

Hello Spencer!
I recently posted a wiki page about AC Disaster consulting. but it was deleted. It is NOT promoting the company.
the purpose was to be an overview of the company. to provide a fact sheet. So I was wondering if it could be undeleted or how I can improve it? thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jenellem2 ( talk • contribs) 17:27, 16 August 2019 (UTC)
Thanks for your support in my recent, albeit unsuccessful, RfA. I hope our future interactions are positive and productive as past ones. Hawkeye7 (discuss) 21:26, 27 August 2019 (UTC) |
