Clover Hello, I got your message about Clover. I believe what you think I did as vandalism is what I actually removed from the page...I did not add anything, but did delete some slander at the top of the page that was obviously not relevant to the article. Maybe you're reading the edits wrong, and seeing my name associated with it for the deletion? Or, perhaps me hitting the back button unwillingly put the graffiti back in? I assure you, I did not post that. 70.116.18.139 ( talk) 02:18, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

Hi. I learned about the Tinman/snake substition in a presentation given by Dick Rutter in the year 2000, at the Wizard of Oz Centennial Convention that was held in Bloomington, Indiana, by the International Wizard of Oz Club. Rutter is an orthodonist and Oz enthusiast, who owns what very well may be the world's largest collection of international editions of the Wizard of Oz. He gave a slideshow presentation of books from his collection, including several books from Hindu countries, and reported the snake anecdote. I've been following the JM0371 copyright violation saga. I have found 10 potential violations in images of Ohio county courthouses he's uploaded, including Image:WarrenCOOH.png that you've already noticed. I posted them on User:Ruhrfisch's talk page, since he's the one that noticed the problem with the Lake County image originally and is how I found out about the potential problem. I don't want to go around throwing "image violation" templates on all of his images, since I want to assume good faith, but these appear the be the most obvious violations. Karenjc, I've encountered an entry with some needed repairs that is above my level of understanding. The footnote references are not formatted correctly, and there's an odd and significant typo that requires more than a simple grammatical fix or revert. Its The Einstein Theory of Relativity, an article about a 1920's silent film about relativity. Where should I go to get help with something like this? Deproduction ( talk) 18:16, 13 July 2008 (UTC)

Truth is... I was lucky, and somebody fixed it (I think) while I was investigating.
You may wish to copy the instructions I was given here before it is archived. I don't know much about templates, nor how to check if they are protected, so I decided to remove them and show preview one at a time to see how it effected the page (a slow way of finding the infected template) and was lucky enough with the top coatrack to find it first time... I think. I then undid my removal and reviewed, so I could link to the template, and found that the page was infection free - so I saved it. I believe that either someone else cleaned up the template while I was doing the above, or that it had already been cleaned and my actions purged the cache (which means it may have been some other template).
If I ever do find out how exactly to do it, I will let you know - and if you find out first I should be grateful for an idiots guide; the instructions listed above assume a level of clue I do not posses.
Cheers. LessHeard vanU ( talk) 13:46, 21 July 2008 (UTC)

Hi there KAREN, VASCO from PORTUGAL here,
Wow, for 2 or 3 days i have an account, and already two messages telling me to stopping being uncivil. For two years (previously as anonymous) i have worked my behind off (sorry for the crudeness of words) to improve WIKIPEDIA, and have been insulted (not your case), threatened (not your case as well), and lots of other moves that make my jaw drop...
I just tell it like i see it, honestly. Did not know you would be "judged as judgemental" for observing the mastering (or lack thereof) of language, grammar, etc, not to mention DOWNRIGHT VANDALISM, totally disrespecting others' work (i said i worked very hard previously, but not (NO WAY) nearly as hard as lots of other users). I do admit i, anonymous or not, have sometimes lost it to "contributors" that deserve it and what i find extremely unfair is that more times i would like to see, i am the one getting reprimanded, not the VANDAL. I promise i will try to tone down in the future, if i don't leave WP in the next weeks...
From PORTUGAL, have a great week,

Blatant sockpuppets like these can generally be reported at WP:AIV for immediate blocking. This is limited to obvious similarities in name like with Tile join/Eir Witt here, or two accounts doing the exact same thing one after the other that have done nothing else. If it's not blatantly obvious, but you suspect there may be a relation between two accounts, you should file a report at WP:SSP for further investigation. In certain very specific cases, a request for checkuser can be filed, however this is generally done as a last resort only and they require some strong evidence that the CU tool is in fact needed. ANI generally should not be used for sockpuppet cases, as that tends to up the drama level significantly as the accused sockpuppeter finds out and goes ballistic in front if everyone. Filing through one of the pages I've listed provides us with an easy page to reference to when making the block. I have blocked the two accounts you just named, by the way. re your comments on User talk:CCFSDCA - this user is creating a lot of pages about "holidays" quoting "Reference: Christopher Corbett-Fiacco, The Whole World Calendar Book of Holidays Around the World 2010-2015.".
The problem with this is that User:CCFSDCA] is Christopher Corbett-Fiacco - according to his user page, anywway.

I hope this information helps. -- woggly ( talk) 22:50, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

I'll post my list on WP:Copyright_problems? Dcmacnut ( talk) 02:28, 21 June 2008 (UTC)

Rodger that, I'll see what i can do. Just out of curiosity, what kind of references are needed? If i go to my bmx club and get some pics and description of tricks is that enough?
If we agree its obscure, perhaps the articles on soap shoes , Freestyle walking and free running can contribute to the notability of this article...
Cheers

Karenjc, I've encountered an entry with some needed repairs that is above my level of understanding. The footnote references are not formatted correctly, and there's an odd and significant typo that requires more than a simple grammatical fix or revert. Its The Einstein Theory of Relativity, an article about a 1920's silent film about relativity. Where should I go to get help with something like this? Deproduction ( talk) 18:16, 13 July 2008 (UTC)
I understand your concern...sounds good to me. I was kind of leery about making that move in the first place, to tell the truth. I discovered hatnotes much later, and agree that this is a wonderful solution. Thanks for taking initiative.

Hello. I currently have Pride and Prejudice (1995 TV serial) at FAC ( Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Pride and Prejudice (1995 TV serial)), and a reviewer asks for the page number of a ref you added to Pride and Prejudice in June, and which I used in "my" article.
So therefore his only reference for this series of articles is, er, himself.
What's the next step here? Is it original research? Advertising? COI? All of the above and more? I'm out of my depth here. pablo hablo. 21:50, 5 February 2009 (UTC)

We have both have explained WP:OWN, COI and consensus to him, your explanation particularly friendly, full and clear; but he has made no response and (with two IPs, one of which is registered to the school) is carrying on deleting great chunks with edit summaries like "deleting Bible program". I think I will revert again, leave another note for him and perhaps one on the talk page, and if he does it again ask at AN/I for, say, a week's block on him and semi-protect on the article to get his attention. I would agree that some trimming would do the article no harm, but we can't let him get away with his unilateral cuts, he has to come and discuss. Any better ideas?
