This form message is being sent to you either due to your membership with WikiProject Good Articles and/or your inclusion on the Wikipedia:Good article candidates/List of reviewers. A new drive has been started requesting that all members review at least one article (or more, if you wish!) within the next two weeks at GAC to help in removing the large backlog. This message is being sent to all members, and even members who have been recently reviewing articles. There are almost 130 members in this project and about 180 articles that currently need to be reviewed. If each member helps to review just one or two articles, the majority of the backlog will be cleared. Since the potential amount of reviewers may significantly increase, please make sure to add :{{ GAReview}} underneath the article you are reviewing to ensure that only one person is reviewing each article. Additionally, the GA criteria may have been modified since your last review, so look over the criteria again to help you to determine if a candidate is GA-worthy. If you have any questions about this drive or the review process, leave a message on the GAC talk page. -- Nehrams2020 00:39, 25 May 2007 (UTC)

For work far and away above and beyond the call of duty, and especially for being so instrumental in getting National Register of Historic Places to Good article status, I bestow upon thee this long-overdue award! Ebyabe 22:43, 25 May 2007 (UTC) |
Been doing alright. Finally stubbing out the rest of the protected places. Speaking of which, here is one close to you if you have a pic of it Kishwaukee River State Fish & Wildlife Area. I will check out John Deere, hope you enjoyed the visit.-- Kranar drogin 15:44, 26 May 2007 (UTC)
Hey guy, I just found this talk template for our picture pages. I think you need to start adding this, plus add it to the existing images you already have on the wikipedia. It is {{ WikiProject Illinois}}, but for the "class" add it so it says |class=image, that way they are associated with the Illinois Project. As I find pics, I am going to start adding it. Plus, I am going to start adding to categories {{ WikiProject Illinois}}, and for class=category after I have created a category.-- Kranar drogin 02:04, 27 May 2007 (UTC)

I am a bit confused on whether you are a user who has changed his username because I do not see your name on our . Thanks for the advice. It is probably not only applicable to the NRHP articles, but also the Chicago Landmark articles regardless of whether they are NRHPs or not. I will take that advice as best I can.
I noticed on your User:IvoShandor/submissions/GA_reviews#Failed section that I account for 2 of your 3 persistent fails that were converted to pass. I will be shooting for a 3rd with Merle Reskin Theatre.
I passed out user boxes to those who had 5 edits or more on Chicago Theatre by the way. There is also another thank that I send for those who help WP:CHICOTW during the week. I don't see you having been on the list, however. Thanks for helping WP:WPChi at Chicago Theatre, nonetheless. We could use your opinion in a few places where consensus is helpful if you have an interest in Chicago related topics.:
I usually put the news info in the refs and only the book info in the bibliography section (like I did here) so I was confused on the New York Times refs, there fine though. The timeline thing is just because I was having a hrad time putting it together in my head, if the info doesn't exist that's fine. Looks great overall. Quadzilla99 13:06, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
From the

(self-nomination)This article is simply excellent. Excellent writing, interesting subject matter, improved during its Good Article trial, and eye-witnesses have left notes on the Talk page that talk about the article being so accurate, it's like they were living it all over again. Written in a NPOV and heavily cited with the highest of sources, it includes GFDL media, is wikified to the fullest, a fantastic "See Also" section, and looks at the story from every angle. --

Hey, just saw this on the bot. I was glad to see you starting to use that shell! I think we are all done, here is the list Category:Image-Class WikiProject Illinois articles. Now, as I am looking at it, it appears that some of the images are going to have to be renamed I think. Also, I think there is some sort of mass tagging to move all the pictures over to Commons, but maybe you would know better than me? And if we did so, would we lose everything we have done already, named tagging and putting them into categories. I know I should send all the maps I have done over there, along with my images, just haven't gotten around to it.-- Kranar drogin 11:00, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
Hello, I'm needing some info or support for an article about a place listed on the National Register of Historic Places that I've been working on. It's a place called Monte Ne which was a health resort of sorts run by an eccentric bimetallisms named William Coin Harvey in the early twentieth century. I've put a lot of time into the article and now I'm trying to get it featured, so if you wouldn't mind looking it over and giving me some criticism or support I would really appreciate. Also I've asked a few other users for there help and placed this exact same message on their discussion page. This was just so I wouldn't have to type it again, I'm not trying to spam your talk page. If you have any questions please feel free to leave me a message or email me. Thanks so much! -- The_stuart 21:44, 1 June 2007 (UTC)

Hey, your maintain article in the DeKalb category was red, so I removed for now, might want to fix that. Anyways, I have created this page Category:People from DeKalb, Illinois, since there were many that were from the city. I also removed the county cat from them, since it is basically a redundant category having it under the city (99% of articles, if it is in the city do not need a category for the county). Just wanted to keep you abreast since you are maintaining the page.-- Kranar drogin 14:55, 3 June 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for your ongoing work on Cook County residential architecture. I have a few questions.
In George W. Smith House, the sentence beginning with "The other structure is the Unity Temple and the Smith House. . ." could be corrected a couple of ways with different meanings. I am not sure what change to make.
Also, I am not sure why there is no Category:Frank Lloyd Wright-Prairie School of Architecture Historic District if there is a Category:Ridgeland-Oak Park Historic District. However, I am not sure the latter is needed. I think they should both be included as articles which may include lists in tabular form. I don't really think either needs a category, IMO.
Good work. I was wondering why you hadn't taken a look at the architecture for Blackstone Hotel yet, but I can see you were hard at work. TonyTheTiger ( talk/ cont/ bio/ tcfkaWCDbwincowtchatlotpsoplrttaDCLaM) 15:22, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

Since you are an architecture guy, I want your opinion on whether important buildings should have separate articles from the institutions they may house. WP:CHICOTW did a good Chicago Board of Trade Building article. I am thinking the Art Institute of Chicago Building should have a separate article that talks about the sequential building additions leading up to the new modern wing and landscape architecture of the north and south gardens. What do you think? TonyTheTiger ( talk/ cont/ bio/ tcfkaWCDbwincowtchatlotpsoplrttaDCLaM) 18:45, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

Remember me? It's June and February is a long time ago, especially considering your fine contributions. I noticed that Snowolf and Wizardman wanted to nominate you and now it's my turn. I think you'd do well. Of course if you don't want to run there's no pressure. So what do you say? James086 Talk | Email 12:50, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
So, when are you going to transclude your RFA onto the main RFA page? I can't enter a supporting comment until you do so. -- Elkman (Elkspeak) 19:54, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
Although I agree that it doesn't look to be successful, I would let it run its course. There's still things we can learn from it, for example; you have received no opposition other than for the incident all the way back in Feb and almost 70% have supported nonetheless, which means you must be doing the right things. I don't think it will pass, but it may yet give an indication of when the community (or enough of them) is willing to grant you the tools. Don't be disheartened, in this case it was my error, I misjudged the time it takes for people to accept your one-off and many administrators take more than one RfA before passing. It's completely up to you, my opinion is that the RfA is not a snowball so I would leave it up. If you do withdraw there's no harm done. James086 Talk | Email 00:10, 8 June 2007 (UTC)
If you want to withdraw, just under where you "indicate acceptance of the nomination", state that you withdraw your nomination and strike out the "I accept" (see WP:GRFA#Closure). Though it's looking up now; 70% support, that means you're in the area where the bureaucrat makes a decision (not just counts the numbers as they would if it were 10% support or 95%). James086 Talk | Email 05:46, 9 June 2007 (UTC)
Nothing like an RFA to remind you of past mistakes, huh? It sort of makes me afraid to submit an RFA (following up on a discussion I had with Snowolf last month), because I have a block log. We should just retitle the whole process Wikipedia:Nominations for sainthood instead. -- Elkman (Elkspeak) 05:18, 10 June 2007 (UTC)
The Cold War history project is now active at the page above. John Carter 21:45, 9 June 2007 (UTC)
IvoShandor, you're being given a hard time at the RfA thing, by jerks like me. (I trust that NPA allows me to be rude about myself.) While I don't intend to retract what I said or to change my vote, I agree with at least some of the complaints that you've expressed, and I sympathize with some more of them too.
A tip, however: Think really, really hard before responding to any comment you don't like, particularly if it irritates or angers you. If something seems really unfair, get away from the keyboard for a time. When you later return to it, somebody else may have come to your defense, or you may have thought of a more effective way to respond. And sometimes the most effective response is no response at all: Silence definitely won't be taken as acquiescence, and your detractor will be seen stewing in his primness.
As for the -- sarcastic? but even if so I don't care -- speculation that people who sail through the RfA must have haloes, no, I don't think so. They just can't be bothered to present the diffs for their lapses. Or they can't even remember those lapses.
Relax. It's only a mop and bucket anyway. And as in a real (dead-trees) publishing organization, the editorial work is more fun than the janitorial. -- Hoary 15:35, 10 June 2007 (UTC)

I've implemented a National Register database query by architect. It's at this link.
There are a few quirks with their listing of architects, though. The National Register database lists it by last name first, so instead of querying by Henry Hobson Richardson, it's listed as "Richardson,Henry Hobson". But, sometimes they aren't consistent, so some entries are listed as "Richardson,H.H.". To get around that, you can use a % sign as a wildcard (i.e. "Richardson%H"), or just query by last name. You might have to fiddle around with it a bit, but the information is there. -- Elkman (Elkspeak) 18:32, 10 June 2007 (UTC)

Hey IvoShandor, sorry it's taken two months, but I took about 100 photos today up and down CPW. I have to go out to a concert now, but when I get home I'll put them up on the Commons (which might take a while, but I'll let you know when I'm done). Not all of them are fantastic, as I had to work under a time limit, but I got a lot of good ones, and at least there's documentation for most. A lot of buildings were under scaffolding/renovation and I didn't bother -- it wouldn't have done justice to the article and the building itself. Sure... I meant what I said - I respect the fact that you had the balls to admit you screwed up at the time, and apologize. We need more admins who'll do that, rather than react defensively when they make a mistake. It's too bad that people somehow got the mistaken idea that someone else had uncovered the diffs, when you were upfront with them. You could have kept quiet, and you'd likely have passed, so being honest and upfront didn't help in this case. That's an unfortunate message. Anyhow, you did garner a lot of support, so if you keep up the good work and avoid any major problems, I think you'd be a shoo-in if you want to reapply in a couple of months. Just a quick note to ask something of you. When you start reviewing a good article candidate, please please please add under the entry on the GAC site that you are reviewing it! I settled down to start Manzanar myself, read it, wrote a few notes, looked at the discussion page and found your review buried on a subpage of your own userpage, 10 minutes wasted!
I'm sure it was a slip of memory, something I'm personally prone to more than most, but please just try to remember next time!

Ok, I have just noted in Category:Settlements in Illinois we have two different designations which I THINK mean the same things. Category:Census-designated places in Illinois and Category:Unincorporated communities in Illinois are for the most part the same thing. Do you agree on this, or are they different? If they are the same, which should we keep and which should we get rid of? I'm going to cross post this.-- Kranar drogin 10:48, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
