Hi, I'm sorry but I deleted your recent addition of a "DOS internals" section in the Disk operating system article. I felt that it didn't belong into there as the article is meant to describe "disk operating systems" in general. I know, that the term DOS today is often associated with MS-DOS-alike operating systems (like MS-DOS, PC DOS, DR-DOS, FreeDOS and many others), but originally, it covered many more operating systems which were "disk based". While the basic architecture of MS-DOS can be found also in similar systems such as DR-DOS and (to a lesser extent, FreeDOS), most of the other disk-based operating systems mentioned in the article have completely different architectures and interfaces, most of them are not even designed for x86-processors. So, it would be better if you would add that information to articles such as DOS (however, please keep in mind, that the filenames you mentioned are specific to MS-DOS and that PC DOS, DR-DOS, FreeDOS etc. use other filenames). Greetings. -- Matthiaspaul ( talk) 12:59, 3 May 2012 (UTC)
