I know this is probably a stupid request, but I was wondering if you could double-check to see the request that I made for a copy edit on the Holly & Ivy page was done correctly. I know that it will take some time for someone from the team to get to it (they say the average waiting tie is about a month), but I just want to make sure I didn't make any small or silly mistakes when I put in the request. It would be great to see the article reach the level of a good article. Aoba47 ( talk) 21:21, 6 January 2016 (UTC)

I noticed that you keep removing my Mount Rushmore addition without cause. The reason I put it in is because, it is not readily obvious who the gentlemen is, and also, I was giving the readers an incentive to read more on the subject matter, either the artist or mt rushmore itself. 24.188.156.182 ( talk) 21:50, 11 January 2016 (UTC)
My point is it is not readily obvious, Mr Borglum article is 7 pages long 24.188.156.182 ( talk) 21:58, 11 January 2016 (UTC)
With respect, I do not see the issue, I have acted in good faith, I did not engage in vandalism, or break copyright law with the addition of said information. Furthermore, it is not obvious that you have greater administrative rights with respect to this page, other than the fact that you live in Portland. I did not digress at length other than use of a thinly-worded phrase. You have not provided sufficient reason other than it is not needed. By not providing the mount rushmore link, there is no incentive to investigate further (the question is why should anybody care about Borglum, unless rushmore was brought to your attention; You and I may know his significance, but not necessarily the general population at large). 24.188.156.182 ( talk) 22:16, 11 January 2016 (UTC)
I was under the impression wikipedia was about increasing human knowledge and inspiring people to learn, and you just proved my point for me " I did not know he was associated with Mount Rushmore". The whole mission of Wikipedia is about raising awareness of the world around you. Incidently, the only reason I came to this page is because of the show "Grimm" filmed a scene around the Mount Tabor area 24.188.156.182 ( talk) 22:30, 11 January 2016 (UTC)
The only reason I am here is because you are the one who has raised the issue of appropriateness, and I am pretty sure due to the very nature of the article, sculpture in a park found in small to medium sized city in the pacific northwest, there is not going to be a lot of discussion of the matter. 24.188.156.182 ( talk) 23:58, 11 January 2016 (UTC) To address the issue: Again, someone seeking information about either Borglum or Mount Rushmore can do so at the appropriate articles, I am addressing the readership who might not know a connection exist between Scott, Borglum , & Rushmore 24.188.156.182 ( talk) 00:04, 12 January 2016 (UTC)

The Mediation Committee has received a request for formal mediation of the dispute relating to "Harvey W.Scott (sculpture)". As an editor concerned in this dispute, you are invited to participate in the mediation. Mediation is a voluntary process which resolves a dispute over article content by facilitation, consensus-building, and compromise among the involved editors. After reviewing the request page, the formal mediation policy, and the guide to formal mediation, please indicate in the "party agreement" section whether you agree to participate. Hello, thank you again for your help and support. I unfortunately will not be able to be active as much on here since I start school again soon, but I just wanted to ask you a couple questions about the Holly & Ivy page.
How long does it normally take for a review to be written after the page becomes listed as a good article nominee? I am assuming that it will probably take a while as there doesn't appear to be too much interest in the subject matter of the page. I am honestly still surprised that I could even get the page as far as it has gotten so I hope that I do not come across as rude or impatient. It would be awesome if the page became a good article!
Also, even though I admit this is thinking far into the future and the article would need substantial work, do you think the article could possible go on to become a featured article? The only reason why I ask you this is because I am pretty sure I exhausted all articles that can be used to support the page. I honestly do not think I can add anything else to improve the page. I had to do a lot of digging just to find the few sources I cited on the page. Aoba47 ( talk) 22:16, 16 January 2016 (UTC)

Hello there! Happy to be writing this newsletter once more. This month:
Some good news: the Wikimedia Foundation has renewed WikiProject X. This means we can continue focusing on making WikiProjects better.
During our first round of work, we created a prototype WikiProject based on two ideas: (1) WikiProjects should clearly present things for people to do, and (2) The content of WikiProjects should be automated as much as possible. We launched pilots, and for the most part it works. But this approach will not work for the long term. While it makes certain aspects of running a WikiProject easier, it makes the maintenance aspects harder.
We are working on a major overhaul that will address these issues. New features will include:
The end goal is a collaboration tool that can be used by WikiProjects but also by any edit-a-thon or group of people that want to coordinate on improving articles. Though implemented as an extension, the underlying content will be wikitext, meaning that you can continue to use categories, templates, and other features as you normally would.
This will take a lot of work, and we are just getting started. What would you like to see? I invite you to discuss on our talk page.
Until next time,
A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Million Years Ago (song) is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Million Years Ago (song) until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. — Indian:BIO [ ChitChat ] 09:36, 24 January 2016 (UTC)

Hello Another Believer:
The copy edit you requested from the Guild of Copy Editors of the article
Tobacco (Last Week Tonight) has been completed. The article only required some very minor "fixes" and "tweaks" given that it already had a GA stats. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
You will have perhaps noticed that I archived one of your citations (#1) and I suggest that you archive the rest as time allows. This ensures that your article's references are available "forever" and doesn’t develop “dead links”. The site I use is
https://archive.org/web/. Simply copy the url in your citation and paste it in the box on the archive.org site and click save. It creates a copy of the original page and provides you with a new url to add to your original citation. If you look at one of the url's I've archived you'll see the syntax. You add the new url to the end of the original citation like this: |archiveurl= http etc|archivedate=13 February 2015}}. Not all websites allow archiving - CBS TV news and the NY Times are two I've come across, so there's not much you can do about that unless there is an alternate citation you could use.

When you create an article such as The Cure (Jah Cure album) (and many others I've seen while stub-sorting), please add a date for the album and a source for your information - presumably you're working through some reliable source for the Grammy awards, so cite it. You could also usefully add {{ album-stub}} (or {{ 1980s-album-stub}} etc as appropriate) while you're doing it, instead of just {{ stub}}. Thanks. Pam D 10:25, 17 February 2016 (UTC)

Hello Another Believer: The copy edit you requested from the Guild of Copy Editors of the article Til It Happens to You has been completed. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
You will notice that I archived the first two of your url citations and I suggest that you archive the rest as time allows. This ensures that your article's references are available "forever" and doesn’t develop “dead links”. The site I use is https://archive.org/web/. Simply copy the url in your citation and paste it in the box on the archive.org site and click save. It creates a copy of the original page and provides you with a new url to add to your original citation. If you look at one of the url's I've archived you'll see the syntax. You add the new url to the end of the original citation like this: |archiveurl= http etc|archivedate=21 February 2015}}. Not all websites allow archiving - CBS TV news and the NY Times are two I've come across, so there's not much you can do about that unless there is an alternate citation you could use.

This month:
Development of the extension for setting up WikiProjects, as described in the last issue of this newsletter, is currently underway. No terribly exciting news on this front.
In the meantime, we are working on a prototype for a new service we hope to announce soon. The problem: there are requests scattered all across Wikipedia, including requests for new articles and requests for improvements to existing articles. We Wikipedians are very good at coming up with lists of things to do. But once we write these lists, where do they end up? How can we make them useful for all editors—even those who do not browse the missing articles lists, or the particular WikiProjects that have lists?
Introducing Wikipedia Requests, a new tool to centralize the various lists of requests around Wikipedia. Requests will be tagged by category and WikiProject, making it easier to find requests based on what your interests are. Accompanying this service will be a bot that will let you generate reports from this database on any wiki page, including WikiProjects. This means that once a request is filed centrally, it can syndicated all throughout Wikipedia, and once it is fulfilled, it will be marked as "complete" throughout Wikipedia. The idea for this service came about when I saw that it was easy to put together to-do lists based on database queries, but it was harder to do this for human-generated requests when those requests are scattered throughout the wiki, siloed throughout several pages. This should especially be useful for WikiProjects that have overlapping interests.
The newsletter this month is fairly brief; not a lot of news, just checking in to say that we are hard at work and hope to have more for you soon.
Until next time,

As with earlier articles I have removed the duplicate links to WP articles as per WP:MoS as follows: "Generally, a link should appear only once in an article, but if helpful for readers, a link may be repeated in infoboxes, tables, image captions, footnotes, hatnotes, and at the first occurrence after the lead." Since these articles are short my thought was that only one link was necessary as links would be easy to find scrolling within the article.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Nemo Design, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Oakley. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Thanks for reorganizing WP:A+F. Just a heads up about formatting: I only found out about this recently myself (via NinjaRobotPirate), but apparently using a semicolon to make a bold heading-like line without directly following it up with a colon causes HTML problems (implications for screen readers, some browsers).

![]() Greetings, all. The 3rd Annual GA Cup has officially begun, and you can start reviewing your articles/reassessments now! However, sign-ups will not close til March 15th if anybody (who wishes to sign up) has not signed up yet. We currently have 1 group of 33 contestants in Round 1, and we will have 16 Wikipedians left in Round 2. Please be sure to review this information and the FAQ if you haven't already, If you have any questions, please ask us here where all of the judges (including our newest one, Zwerg Nase!) will be answering any questions you may have. You can also feel free to ask us on our talk pages/send an email to us (information is here). Cheers from Figureskatingfan, 3family6, Jaguar, MrWooHoo, and Zwerg Nase. To subscribe or unsubscribe to future GA Cup newsletters, please add or remove your name to
our mailing list. If you are a participant still competing, you will be on the mailing list no matter what as this is the easiest way to communicate between all participants.
