Hi Anna, just to let you know that I have not forgotten about Silver. I think it best to let the various PRODs/AfDs/merge proposals settle down and then tackle what ever debris may be left. What do you think? - Sitush ( talk) 23:53, 21 May 2011 (UTC)
Good idea. Also, there are probably few or no remaining copyvio matters on silver. It's probably okay to tell User:MER-C that we're done in that regard, and that he can now proceed without silver overlap or any coordination being necessary. Anna Frodesiak ( talk) 00:28, 23 May 2011 (UTC)

Please take a look at this sequence of diffs written by the editor who wants to add Horse meat (et al) to Dog meat. On the user's talk page, I asked xyr remarks (specifically the ones about white pride) as I felt they are accusing you, Phoenix7777, and myself of racism. The user responded on my talk page to say that xe won't retract them because, in short, the accusations are correct. Is this a block-worthy NPA? Or am I overreacting? I'm going to point Phoenix7777 to this thread to for xyr comments so we can keep the discussion in one place. Qwyrxian ( talk) 07:00, 24 May 2011 (UTC)

I just saw you revert the TV station sloganizer. Just FYI, I told Deconstructhis on xyr talk page (although xe hasn't been on in over a week) that I'm no longer bothering to revert the "Localized version of national slogan" edits. The person won't go away, even after being blocked. The issues been raised on ANI twice, to no effect. Our defense is that the information isn't sourced, but, then again, very little on most TV stations is. Since the user is so fast at adding them (usually doing 10+ pages at a time), I just don't feel like it's worth the effort. You're, of course, willing to do so, and if you have any ideas at a more longterm solution, I'd be happy to help, but I just don't know what else to do. Qwyrxian ( talk) 12:35, 31 May 2011 (UTC)

Hi Anna,
greetings! It'll be of great help if you could review the article again. Currently the page
Abhay Kumar has this banner:
This article's tone or style may not reflect the formal tone used on Wikipedia. Specific concerns may be found on the talk page. See Wikipedia's guide to writing better articles for suggestions.
I've made some changes in order to resolve the issue, I've mentioned them below:
into
Abhay Kumar (Hindi: अभय कुमार; Russian: Абхай Кумар) (also known as Abhay K) is an Indian author, poet, artist and diplomat. His book River Valley to Silicon Valley tries to draw the portrait of a modern young Indian.[1] His award winning work in Gov2.0 & digital diplomacy,[2] philosophical poetry, planetary scale of thinking in his art works [3] and writings on Global democracy [4] strive for a second renaissance on the planet.
into
Global democracy and the role of mobile internet in transforming the public sphere have been reccuring themes in his writings. His Op-Ed 'Birth of Global Democracy' [13] in The Times of India has been quoted in serious journals of international affairs.[14] A new urge for Global democracy and planetary consciousness is reflected in his art works. He believes whatever be our individual, social or other interests, we should not forget that we have only one cosmic home, Earth.[15]
into
He led the soft launch of Clean India Campaign at Nehru Park with Robinder Sachdev, President Imagindia Institute on 20 February 2011 that followed cleaning up of public places such as Raj Ghat and All India Institute of Medical Sciences premises in Delhi by a large number of volunteers and a nationwide campaign to clean India.[16]
into
He is a noteworthy figure in contemporary Indian English Literature for giving humanistic outlook and supranational character to Indian English Poetry.[18]
Removed
He actively took part in activities of National Service Scheme (NSS) at Kirori Mal College and at Jawaharlal Nehru University(JNU). He was Vice President of NSS, Kirori Mal College from 1999–2000 and a core member of the gender issues forum 'Parivartan' from 1998-2000 at Delhi University. NSS unit of Kirori Mal College organized annual blood donation camp at the college, tree plantation, anti-smoking and anti-pollution drives and visits to mental asylums in and around Delhi.
I hope this makes the article more formal. Looking forward to your feedback. Many thanks.Shivam Sharma 12:08, 8 June 2011 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Shivam.s88 ( talk • contribs)
It looks better. I would remove/replace "award winning", "strive for", "serious" (journals).
I didn't check the ref for "...A new urge for Global democracy and planetary consciousness is reflected in his art works. ...", but that sounds like an opinion.
If some of "...He believes whatever be our individual, social or other interests, we should not forget that we have only one cosmic home, Earth...", is a quote, it should be formatted as a quote.
The "removed" section above contains good facts that could remain.
Content like "...He manages to evoke both a smile and tear, with sheer lyrical spontaneity and thematic honesty and candour..." is not encyclopedic, regardless of the source, which incidentally, is wordpres.com, a blog.
The whole article needs some attention to punctuation, and use of capitalization.
There are plenty more issues with the article, but that'll keep you busy. :)
Good luck. Anna Frodesiak ( talk) 01:13, 9 June 2011 (UTC)

Hi Anna,
Good morning, the introduction of Sothwest University for Nationalities (SWUN) we submitted yesterday is the translation from our Chinese official website www.swun.edu.cn, why you claimed the content of our university is SOAPBOX and ADVERTISING? Is this discrimination or....? Recently we received many queries in terms of the inaccurate informaion originated from Wikipedia, e.g. small university, etc. which ruined the reputation of our university. We urge to change to the correct one without any hesitation. Furthermore, as we edit on Wikipedia the first time, please have your understanding on some mistakes made. Thanks for your help and wish you a nice day!
Cheers, Victoria and Daddy (formerly SWUN International)
P.S. I wrote to Teapotgeroge yesterday, but so far no response. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Victoria and Daddy ( talk • contribs) 03:56, 9 June 2011 (UTC)
Hi Anna, Thanks for the clarification. My inputs are:
1)the English version from Cucas was officially provided by SWUN authority, the university has the copyright but cucas, why we violet copyright not cucas? Therefore, we needn't to do anything. If you have any suspicious, you're highly and kindly welcome to call our leaders, i.e. the President, Prefessor ZHAO Xinyu, and the Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party, Professor LUOBU Jiangcun whenever and wherever possible, everything will be cleared up. The tel no. is in public on our official website.
2)concerning the "inaccurate information" I claimed is that's the "small university", etc. Could you please give us the criteria, what is the defination of "small university'? As matter of fact, our univerity is famous and built up under the support of former Premier ZHOU Enlai and DENG Xiaoping (the famous leaders and founders of the People's Republic of China, even famous in the world!)60 years ago. The university had hornered very higher reputation in southwest of China region, and is one of the largest university in this region of China, so far over 20,000 students (full-time, undergraduate, post-graduate of master, doctorate level, post-doctoerate level, etc.) in campus, why "samll"?
3) who is Zhengty2008 and why to be connected to him? Is he our graduate student or staff? Is he on behalf of our university? If not, why he has the right but not ours? Please justify, thank you! Cheers, Victoria and Daddy (SWUN International) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Victoria and Daddy ( talk • contribs) 12:50, 9 June 2011 (UTC)
Hi Anna, In my last message, I wrote "so far over 20,000 students in campus" , I mean there're over 20,000 students studying in university NOW, hope it cleared up. Thanks. Hello,
1) If content comes from a site, it must be paraphrased. We cannot write to people to find out who owns the rights. 2) I removed "small". You can also make such changes. If it's not sourced, you can remove it. (I love Deng Xiaoping. One of my heroes. A great man.) 3) I believe the you are not connected to Zhengty2008. I will remove (or have removed) the sockpuppet tags.
Best, Anna Frodesiak ( talk) 13:26, 9 June 2011 (UTC)

Hey Anna, I see that you've been duking it out with one of them IPs, for instance on WTHR. I've looked at a dozen or more (it feels like a million) of those articles and am systematically removing those slogans and the news program titles--as unverified, unencyclopedic, WP:NOTDIR, etc etc. Somewhere I ran into an SPI that I think you had something to do with as well. I think it's time to do something for real, maybe a big fat rangeblock or so. I'll take any suggestions you may have. Thanks! Drmies ( talk) 02:36, 22 June 2011 (UTC)
Here's everyone connected to recent activity on WXYZ-TV:
I'll stick them into black sandbox. I don't know what to make of this, but something needs to be done about this whole matter. By the way, another user added all those keys to the list of users at black sandbox. I can't keep up with it. Anna Frodesiak ( talk) 03:13, 22 June 2011 (UTC)
Ok, per path of least resistance, if it's clearly the same guy, dump the IP into a simple black sandbox list and hit rollback a bunch of times. Easy.
Can I use rollback for this? Do I need to post at user's talk?
This plan, I can pass on to the handful of others involved. This will add up to 30 seconds per week. Peanuts. We can leave it at that for half a year and maybe he'll go away. Would that be a good plan? Anna Frodesiak ( talk) 03:39, 22 June 2011 (UTC)
I looked at the list. Another note: I don't think Revinchristian ( talk · contribs) is involved. Maybe a grand central SPI would be preferable, with CU involved for alternate accounts (such as, possibly, Circle). As soon as I hear what block there was that was being evaded, I can basically block on sight...For now, let's stick with your plan. Thanks. Drmies ( talk) 03:52, 22 June 2011 (UTC)
This looks like it's all anonymous, which actually does fit the previous MO. I mean, nobody except Neutralhomer has really brought it up (but he has since been driven away by another editor(s)), and I don't think I was very successful in containing anything here.
To say the least, there are a lot of IPs and ranges involved here, and User:Anna Frodesiak/Black sandbox clearly shows that. My logical guess is that we start there first and see what we can do there as far as determining what kind of disruption is there and whether or not blocks are necessary. – MuZemike 05:51, 22 June 2011 (UTC)
WXYZ, when it was an ABC owned station, was required to localize all of the ABC fall campaigns, as well as airing the entire ABC schedule. I was also told all of the ABC Channel 7s did this. I referenced one of the slogans (the one from 1981) on the WXYZ page. Its a youtube link. — Preceding unsigned comment added by CircleWXYZ ( talk • contribs) 13:36, 22 June 2011 (UTC)

CircleWXYZ (

undated comment added 13:50, 22 June 2011 (UTC).
I thought it was important to list them, since its apart of the station's history. I put it in the logos and imaging section instead of the slogan list, because they were not slogans that were locally produced for the station. They were just customized versions of the network campaigns. I am thinking about doing for WXYZ what I did for WEWS, as far as just saying that WXYZ localized several ABC fall campaigns in the 1970s, up til mid 1980s. I could note that as an ABC owned and operated station, the station was required to localize all of ABC's fall campaigns from the 1970s and 1980s. That way, there's less clutter on that page. What do you guys think?
CircleWXYZ ( talk) —Preceding undated comment added 14:32, 22 June 2011 (UTC).
I was looking at those logos, and I personally don't have much of a problem with a logo here and there, as long as it doesn't turn the article into a gallery, and as long as it doesn't fall foul of the relevant policy, Wikipedia:Non-free content--which it will according to some Wikipedia editors. WP:ANI is full of it right now; see Wikipedia:Ani#Get_the_WMF_legal_team_to_make_a_statement, for instance. Drmies ( talk) 14:41, 22 June 2011 (UTC)
Hey Drmies,
I am going to just say that WXYZ customized several ABC fall campaigns in the 1970s, up until the network sold the station in 1986. That way, no unnecessary stuff is put on the page. I'll just say that 'We're Still the One' was the most notable of the campaigns, since it was the most popular ABC campaign from that time period. Thanks again for the imput. CircleWXYZ ( talk)
Ugh, the website which stated that all the ABC Channel 7s localized 'We're Still the One' was taken down. it was the 80s tv themes site. UGH!

I'll see what I can do. Personally, I believe its the same person who's adding slogans at the wiki Annex site. He's added some slogans I've never heard of. For instance, he's added WJBK slogans on that site, and I know WJBK didn't use any of it. I know, because I've lived in Detroit since the late 1980s, and I don't recall any of those slogans at all. Very strange, indeed. But I'll see what I can do.

When I am inspired by the high quality or volume of a user's contribution, I like to acknowledge it. It is my expression of goodwill for a user's diligence and it generally brings joy to a user's life. Hey there, Anna. I was thinking that you may be able to help in contributing to my sandbox, now that I helped you out in your sandbox. I wanted to expand of where you left off to include many more things, and I hope that you may be able to understand my own concept...
You may wish to check it out by clicking here, although there are strict instructions for editing my sandbox, especially when adding users to the list. I will need lots of editors and/or administrators to help contribute to my sandbox (good editors and/or administrators are strongly recommended), provided that you provide a link to my sandbox, and that they sign using four tildes in the appropriate section if they wish to contribute. Now that I do understand, I'm strongly of the opinion that the page should be deleted. Per WP:UP#POLEMIC, you can't use your userpage to store a list of "bad" editors, unless you are specifically doing so with the intent of pursuing dispute resolution against the user(s) in a timely manner. Arguably, Anna's Black Sandbox is borderline (we may want to consider if it, too, violates this policy), because it's probably all about a single user, and hopefully will lead soon to a more durable solution (a rangeblock, page protection, banning, etc.). Yours, however, seems like you just intend it to be any given IP user whom you notice has been blocked or warned. It's like you're trying to create a secondary system of tracking bad behavior, above and beyond the current talk page histories and block logs. I can't see any benefit, and I can see potential harm. Try getting the opinion of some admins, as I could be wrong here (or possibly still misunderstanding the point of the page), but I think this page should probably go to MfD. Qwyrxian ( talk) 05:06, 28 June 2011 (UTC)
I am OK with Qwyxian's case in terms of what was stated in his remarks, but I was planning on going another direction in order to comply with the policies, however. I was planning a revamp to include a dispute resolution, though. Additionally, depending on either Qwyrxian's remarks and/or Anna's comments, my alternate plans may include the following if it holds up:

I was reluctant in the past because I didn't want to bug them over there as the list contained so many maybes. I wanted to build up a picture of what was going on first. I think that may have been achieved, as the IPs are now in apparently quite distinct groups. Is it ready for SPI? Thoughts? Anna Frodesiak ( talk) 05:47, 28 June 2011 (UTC)

Hey Anna, I noticed you tagged Dimbeswar Neog with {{ copyvio}} recently as I just reviewed it at WP:CP. Thanks for reporting it but please don't forget to notify the responsible contributor on their talk page with the template given on the tag. It gives the user a chance to create a temp or verify permission if they have it. Usually the article is re-listed if the contributor isn't notified. Given the history of the article, it appears the contributor saw the tag so I didn't re-list it. I also notified the IP that added the text in question to Henan University although that probably won't be relisted since it was added so long ago. Just wanted to drop you a note, if you have any questions, let me know.-- NortyNort (Holla) 14:11, 29 June 2011 (UTC)

I am not sure if any of those still violate the rules as per WP:UP#POLEMIC. Still, I am trying to figure out how to have all of those comply with the appropriate policies when editing my sandbox (if there are other suggestions, please chime in). CHAK 001 ( talk) 06:42, 28 June 2011 (UTC)
Also, is this TV vandal matter really within purview of sockpuppet investigations? There's no master. Serial vandal? I don't know. I'm just a humble editor. This is admin stuff. Please advise. Anna Frodesiak ( talk) 05:59, 28 June 2011 (UTC)

Hi Anna. I see you fixed my misspelling on the Aichi Atsuta article. Thanks! Buster40004 Talk 03:52, 29 June 2011 (UTC)
With my change of heart, I think we're okay to merge there. Can you take care of it? If not, I can add it to my to do list (probably done within a week or so). Qwyrxian ( talk) 07:03, 29 June 2011 (UTC)
