WikiProject Wikify!
Thanks for participating in the October 2010 Wikification Backlog Elimination Drive! We made significant progress, wikifying hundreds of articles. However, the backlog still needs a large amount of effort-- discussions about the next drive (in December) are underway. Until then, happy editing! |

Hi there! I thought you might be interested in the December 2010 Wikification Backlog Elimination Drive. We're currently recruiting help to clear a massive backlog (22,000+ articles), and we need your help! Participants in the drive will receive barnstars for their contributions! If you have a spare moment, please join and wikify an article or tell your friends. Thanks! |

I'm sorry to say I removed the cheery ol' face from Jimbo's page, he had a good run though. Have you seen this? Jebus989 ✰ 12:03, 6 November 2010 (UTC)
Just noticed your tagging of 165.155.192.79. Given his recent contributions were basically wandering from talkpage to talkpage declaring who he was, I reasoned that he's out looking for attention. I kinda decided consciously not to tag the IP's talk page just because that's giving him the attention he was asking for - I felt it was far better to just revert all his posts and block him for generic vandalism, hence denying recognition. Obviously it's no big deal, I just thought I'd let you know my thoughts. :) ~ mazca talk 12:33, 6 November 2010 (UTC)
I'll look into it and bat the dust off an old friend if the pages were created in violation of the block. Mass taggings, especially those announced at ANI, only serve to attract attention, something of which we should be keen to starve certain people of. Feel free to email me if you want, but I doubt anything productive will come from further on-wiki discussion. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 22:48, 6 November 2010 (UTC)
The thread disappeared just before I got to comment. You have my full support, please undo everything. I see that only some 100 latest of the edits and moves ( Special:Contributions/Schwyz) have been reverted, there are still about a thousand more from the last week before he got blocked. -- Petri Krohn ( talk) 23:08, 6 November 2010 (UTC)
Hi. I see you've had some involvement with Google Voice. I've had one more go but to be honest I am getting bored/fed up, and I don't think the IP editor is interested in anything much other than the urgency of getting their PoV across, so I think I will probably get depressed and walk away now. Just thought you might like to know in case you are still interested. Thanks and best wishes, DBaK ( talk) 23:46, 6 November 2010 (UTC)

Hi. I saw your warnings to the IP and I am worried about BLP issues -- please take a look at WP:BLPEDIT. Maybe it would be good to get some help at Biographies of living persons/Noticeboard in sorting this out. If you are warning the actual subject of the article, that might create problems for you, that person and/or Wikipedia. -- A. B. ( talk • contribs) 02:32, 10 November 2010 (UTC)
Hiya Access Denied! I notice you don't seem to like Internet Explorer. I for one love hate love hate it. As a web designer, I of course "really really dislike" it. As a technician inundated with malware related repairs due to infections that used IE, .NET and/or ActiveX as attack vectors; I kinda like it. :-)
Best, Rob

I wish you luck in your RfA. The Utahraptor Talk/ Contribs 13:36, 10 November 2010 (UTC)
Sorry it didn't work out for you this time—you should definitely take the feedback into account, as it will help you with both your next RfA and your overall endeavors on Wikipedia! Have you considered working on articles? It's always good to diversify your contributions to prevent burnout. — Deckiller ( t- c- l) 02:42, 11 November 2010 (UTC)
Well that didn't go exactly as planned... | ||
I'm sorry that your RfA didn't work out that well. You're clearly a good editor, and you didn't deserve to get slaughtered so unceremoniously. RfA tends to pile on a disproportionate amount of negative energy as to what is required. That being said, the community has spoken. I've prepared an essay offering advice on second RfAs. Please read it, and see if you find it helpful. I think that one day, you'll make a good admin. This will give you something to focus on in the mean time. Greetings from the
Guild of Copy Editors
Backlog Elimination Drive!
We have reached the midway point in our backlog elimination drive, so here is an update. Participation report — The November drive has 53 participants at this point. We had 77 participants in the September drive. In July, 95 people signed up for the drive, and in May we had 36. If you are not participating, it is not too late to join! Progress report — The drive is quite successful so far, as we have already almost reached our target of a 10% reduction in the number of articles in the backlog. We are doing very well at keeping our Requests page clear, as those articles count double for word count for this drive. Please keep in mind the possibility of removing other tags when you are finished with an article. If the article no longer needs {{ cleanup}}, {{ wikify}}, or other similar maintenance tags, please remove them, as this will make the tasks of other WikiProjects easier to complete. Thanks very much for participating in the Drive, and see you at the finish line!

Wayne Olajuwon would like to nominate you to become an administrator. Please visit Wikipedia:Requests for adminship to see what this process entails, and then contact Wayne Olajuwon to accept or decline the nomination. A page will then be created for your nomination at Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Access Denied2. If you accept the nomination, you must state and sign your acceptance. You may also choose to make a statement and/or answer the optional questions to supplement the information your nominator has given. Once you are satisfied with the page, you may post your nomination for discussion, or request that your nominator do so. |
WAYNE OLAJUWON 16:28, 14 November 2010 (UTC)
Sven Manugard would also like to nominate you to become an administrator when you're ready. I'd be happy to co-nom you in six months. Well, I think, based on the number of respected editors who posted in this thread, I guess I'll settle on a co-co-co-co-nom you. Really, in six months you'll be a damn good candidate. |
