Hi, I'm RobertMfromLI ( talk · contribs · count · logs · page moves · block log)
I originally spent much of my time here monitoring a few dozen pages (109 "originally" but currently a lot more) for obvious vandalism and reverting such. Now, I spend much of my time at Recent Changes trying to help out with obvious (and sometimes not so obvious) vandalism. Until I visited there, I didn't realize how large a task it is... so, I am glad to be able to help when I can. For the non "much of my time" where I may actually contribute something, if I make a mistake, please feel free to let me know on the article's Talk page (or my own). Though I may not have much experience creating articles on Wikipedia, I do have a lot of experience working collaboratively on both web and video based content and am always willing to listen to others' perspectives and opinions and always very receptive to someone pointing out mistakes I may have made so I do not make them again. Though I have been contributing here for many years, up until recently, it has been as an anon only. Regardless, I'm sure I'm prone to making mistakes, just like any other human being - so let me know if I have made one. I'm not the best at content creation (takes me too long to get the same results other editors can in a fraction of the time), but I have helped with some articles that have went up for Featured Article Review and contributed to one Good Article [1] with one of my former adoptees (AJona1992). He did the majority of the major expansion work, while I contributed or fixed a few citations and helped with the copy-editing and grammar.
(If so, it's intended as a compliment) There are a few regular editors and admins who's Talk Pages (and possibly edits) I stalk. If you fit into that list, I hope you take it as a compliment. One of the things I have learned in my other jobs (where collaboration is key) and here is that my opinion is not the community, and thus, my actions and intent should try to fit within what the community represents. I'm hoping, that by following around a bunch of established editors, I'll learn: learn more about policy, about interaction in a form that's best for the community and about similar and differing points of view. Regardless, I always try to be respectful about any rules or requests for (
talk page stalker)s each editor may have. Let me know if I am not, and how my efforts in this are perceived (if not positively).
(Or: "Thanks!! Just glad I can do my part like everyone else.")
This Barnstar is dedicated all of those who kindly provided feedback, and kind constructive criticism at my First RfA, which is everyone who participated.
