In the opening paragraph of this article it states that starvation and diseases along with executions and deportations contributed to the destruction of the inhabitants of the Vilna Ghetto. However in fact, due to the remarkable public efforts of the Jewish Medical community in Vilna the death rates from disease and starvation were held to a level such that unlike in Warsaw or Lodz, natural causes of death in the Vilna Ghetto were barely above prewar levels (Warsaw 107/1000, Lodz 133/1000, Vilna Ghetto 30/1000 compared to prewar levels of 13/1000). Thus, in Vilna Jewish deaths were almost entirely attributable to genocide. see: Grodin, Michael (2014) Jewish Medical Resistance in the Vilna Ghetto. P. 129Berghahn Books ISBN 978-1-78238-418-2 ````
I'm concerned about this sentence: "Nazi soldiers aimed to kill 11,000,000 Jews and ended up killing 6,000,000 - a failure to the German army." It undermines the tragedy of the 6 million lost. Anybody else have an opinion? Tullyis ( talk) 02:42, 17 September 2012 (UTC)
I moved the article from Vilna Ghetto to Wilna Ghetto because this name is more logical, as Wilna is German name for the city. The name Vilna was not used for the city for a long time by the time ghetto was established. Vilne is the Yiddish name for the city. Burann 16:39, 7 April 2006 (UTC)
According to Vilnius#Names: The names Wilno and Vilna have also been used in older English and French language publications. Xx236 10:40, 14 June 2007 (UTC)
Question: What was "The Great Provocation" of September 2, mentioned in the article? Dr. Dan 14:46, 26 January 2007 (UTC) Anyone know? Dr. Dan 03:54, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Ping User:Renata3. User:Poeticbent. Isn't the Russian name least appopriate? Vilnius or Wilno would likely be better. At the same time: GBooks: Vilna Ghetto - 14,100 hits. "Wilno Ghetto" - 841 hits. Vilnius Ghetto - 4,180. Wilna Ghetto - 245. Vilne Ghetto - 377. Keeping it under Vilna does allow us to avoid the usual Polish/Lithuanian choice dilemma, but seriously, why Russian? -- Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 09:41, 28 September 2017 (UTC)
