This article does not meet B-class criteria, due to missing key sections (ex. economy) and insufficient inline referencing (there are entire sections unreferenced). -- Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 16:27, 15 July 2011 (UTC)
Have started the task of cleaning up and rewriting this article, which will be achieved section by section. -- Fliptank po ( talk) 14:12, 30 June 2009 (UTC)
Deleted references (information now easily links to other verifiable Wiki pages) and "Location" section, since that information is easily served in the introductory section. -- Fliptank po ( talk) 07:45, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
Temporarily removing the lines:
"Tychy is an important center of beer production (Tyskie beer) and automotive industry (Fiat factory, specializing in city cars; formerly known as FAP, Fiat Auto Poland)."; this information will be reintegrated in a new section entitled "Industry". -- Fliptank po ( talk) 07:40, 2 July 2009 (UTC)
Yesterday I made stylistic and formatting changes to this page, all of which were undone by user LUCPOL with no explanation other than a note in its history stating they were undone because references were removed. The references were removed purposefully because they add nothing to the article, since the information contained in them can be found by linking to other verifiable entries. I did not delete the References section because references will be added only where appropriate.
Wikipedia is about constantly improving upon the work of others. Format-wise, grammatically and stylistically this article is in need of some TLC. It's also rather scant on detail, all of which I will deal with in time. I expect others to add new information and edit my edits where appropriate, but undoing changes that are clearly improvements is not appropriate. I believe I've made my intentions quite clear (in line with Wikipedia's Editing Policy): I'm willing to discuss any edits and changes here, but undoing them entirely is nothing short of vandalism given the fact that I've explicitly said that this is a work in progress. -- Fliptank po ( talk) 07:38, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
Following on from the information above I'm undoing the undo. -- Fliptank po ( talk) 07:39, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
I'm suggesting that the section 'Notable People' is split off from the main article to make the content as encyclopedic as possible. If anyone objects, I'll leave this here for at least 72 hours. If, after that time, there are no objections the article will be split. Thanks. -- Fliptank po ( talk) 15:52, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
Going forward I suggest we try editorialising the notable people section, removing those from the list who don't meet Wiki's criteria for being noteworthy (or, indeed, have little or nothing to do with Tychy). Is this more acceptable to you? Thanks -- Fliptank po ( talk) 07:52, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
Thanks to user Martin52t: I think the image you've provided is more representative of the place than the old one.
If anyone is able or willing, this article would benefit greatly from more images. I think a few things would be nice:
Cheers to anyone listening...

I move that we delete this section, moving its content here until it becomes more useful or can be integrated into the article elsewhere. Both objections and support very much welcomed -- Fliptank po ( talk) 12:42, 25 August 2009 (UTC)
There was no listed objection to the temporary deletion of the Education section, so I've removed it. Information to possibly be re-amalgamated:

The name "Tychy" cannot be derived from anything for sure, as it is a generic name given by Polish nationalists. After Panslavisic movement emerged, Polish nationalists came up with their version, as cited in the article. New "socialist science" controlled by the Polish Communist Party chose this explanation later on to do some nation building. -- 88.66.64.93 ( talk) 10:45, 14 July 2020 (UTC)
