For this term, the spelling np is more common than the spelling mp, and np fits more to the original Portuguese confeito. -- Unnecessary stuff ( talk) 03:20, 16 October 2010 (UTC)

Kompeitō → Konpeitō – As discussed above; also, WP:MOS-JA mandates the use of modified Hepburn romanization, which is -np-, not -mp-. Jpatokal ( talk) 01:14, 27 December 2012 (UTC)
*Strong oppose. It's against MoS ja and the revised Hepburn.
