My god, do we need every single freaking stock this company holds in other... well companies? AllStarZ 23:39, 17 July 2006 (UTC)
If Kirin was overtaken by Asahi as the leader in the Japanese beer market, why does Asahi Breweries claim that Asahi is 2nd largest brewery? Sources please. Dforest ( talk) 18:23, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
As of Aug 2009, Kirin has not yet taken over Lion Breweries. The reference given is for the acquisition process, not the actual acquisition. See http://www.lion-nathan.co.nz/Investors/Kirin-Proposal.aspx Iam0g ( talk) 10:17, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

The result of the move request was: Moved as proposed. There's consensus on removing "limited" but not so much consensus on whether this article is about the company or the holdings. Leaving it as the company for now, since most prose pertains to that, and editors can reassess this at their leisure, and decide whether to fork an article for the holdings. Kirin Company, Limited →
Kirin Company – (or perhaps to
Kirin Holdings or
Kirin Holdings Company, unless we create a separate article about the parent company). Per
WP:NCCORP, the legal status suffix of a company is not normally included in the article title. --Relisted. —

The infobox says that "Kirin Company, Limited" is a subsidiary of "Kirin Holdings Company, Limited". But Wikipedia does not have a separate article about the Kirin Holdings Company. That name simply redirects back to this article. Does the Kirin Holdings Company have any other subsidiaries? Is Kirin Holdings really a meaningfully distinct entity, or is it basically the same thing as the Kirin Company? It seems like it would be nice for the article to be about the top-level entity instead of only some part of it. — BarrelProof ( talk) 16:37, 20 January 2015 (UTC)

Hi @ BarrelProof: just notifying you that this page was moved recently by John baost from Kirin Company to Kirin (company), which goes against the RM you proposed above in 2015. Just to confirm you're happy with this move or whether you regard it as controversial. I don't have much of an opinion on this myself. Cheers — Amakuru ( talk) 16:40, 25 November 2023 (UTC)
