Antic Cafe is an Oshare Kei NOT a Visual Kei. They even have said themselves they are a Oshare Kei band. Visual Kei is more gothic and darker while Oshare Kei is bouncy and bright, their songs focusing on happy and positive messages. Their fashion is also bright and colorful unlike Visual Kei. This is an example of Visual Kei:

I rewrote the article to standardize the romanization and remove some of the clunkiness and POV, though it still needs to be macroned. Some of the romanization was wrong, and the song translations were culled from an online dictionary and not official, so they were removed. WP policy prohibits advertising of external sites like fan communities and blogs, so all store links and fansites were removed from the links section, and Third Stage was moved to references. MSJapan 07:51, 29 March 2006 (UTC)
"graduation" - I've removed the section about Bou's reasoning for leaving. It said that he was leaving due to school, which is most likely a mistake based on the use of the word "graduation", a common Japanese rock term for leaving a band. Bou is beyond the age to be in school except if he were persuing a higher degree, which is doubtful due to the number of times he's mentioned in interviews that he was bad at school and would have dropped out if not for how it would have upset his parents. Mezi99360 07:09, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
Sick parents - That is a RUMOR. There's been nothing to back it up as fact. As such, I removed the part where the editor stated it as fact. Mezi99360 16:29, 17 May 2007 (UTC)
What's the difference between a studio album and a distributed CD? The studio albums have distribution, don't they? Juryen 18:07, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
A "Distributed CD" is a CD that is given out for free, usually for those who attend a concert. Sometimes attendees have fill out a questionaire (called an enquitte) and receive the CD when they turn it in. Denaar 05:08, 20 May 2007 (UTC)
Should their birthyears really be on this wiki page? Unless they've actually said them in magazine interviews (which should be cited if so), there's no citable source for them. Only their birthdates are on the OHP, not birthyears. I really don't think the japanese boards that their ages are posted on count as reliable, citable sources for here. It's fine for random fan knowledge, but on a site that needs reliable, cited sources?
Where did the dates for Takuya and Yuuki come from, anyway? They are certainly not on the OHP, and I don't believe they've even been in any magazines yet.
Unless sources are actually cited for these birthyears, I think they should be edited out. 37564 20:07, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
I just wanted to know why my fix to one of the song's romaji title was reverted? Sorry for making a discussion for just this, but I'd like to know, and I don't want to re-fix it for it just be reverted again without a reason.
The song title, プッシンプリン, is not "pusshin purin" but "PUSSY'n PURIN" or alternatively PxxxY'n PURIN, since that's how he wrote it in english in the lyrics. The line the title comes from, for reference, is: I LOVE BIG Pxxxy'n PURIN・・・ If you need to check the lyrics, I can even show a scan of them if it is necessary. I wouldn't fix romaji on a page unless I were absolutely sure that it is incorrect. Please either take mention of the song out, or leave the correct romaji up. I re-edited it to be the correct english, since that's how katakana is supposed to be done when it has an english equivalent, I do believe (e.g "Candyholic" instead of "KYANDIIHORIKKU"). 37564 04:39, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
Can we change the Members information to be a paragraph istead of a list, and keep the most relavant information? Also - I know those facts are translated straight from somewhere - see WP:FT and try to refrence them. If you have references and can't figure out how to add them, put details on my talk page and I'll come straighten it out. Denaar 04:30, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
Why is all the member info and stuff taken out? Was something wrong with it?
I'm going to put this here - I'll eventually get around to sourcing it and adding it back to the article. I encourage users to find good reliable sources (not fan pages) to use to add information. (Sorry that this page was blanked - I found a random fact and updated the article, and I guess I'm being followed?)
The bands official name is アンティック-珈琲店-. Now if you plug that into a dictionary [1] You'll find Antikku = Antique, and 珈琲店 is pronounced Kohi-ten (Coffee shop). Now, the band has said in interviews that originally Bou wanted to name the band "Manhattan Cafe." Someone else suggested "Athletic Cafe". They looked it up in the dictionary, and found the word "Antic". They liked the definition and kept it - Antic Cafe. Japanese people frequently shorten words by using the first sylables, so their nickname is "An Cafe" - but it is just a nickname. There are a lot of interviews and such that they confirm this in, when I get three or four good sources I'll add it back, but it may take a while for me to get to.
I imagine it shouldn't be too hard to find a source to show that An Cafe has hit the Oricon indies chart, or that they have the opening theme to the anime Darker than BLACK (Kuro no Keiyakusha) - so that should give you a start. Denaar 01:35, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
The source referencing the band's affiliation with visual kei ("Shoxx Bis No 3 pg 69") does not come with a date, or at least a year. Given that the promotional photographs on group's current website bear few of the traits verifiably attributed to aforementioned movement, a more precise citation is necessary, in order to accurately put that bit into context. - Cyrus XIII 22:27, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
I was wondering, wouldn't Antic Cafe be considered Oshare kei? I was under the impression that visual kei bands usually tended to be of a darker varity? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Nofit ( talk • contribs) 23:45, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
Miku invaded the wikipedia article... I just think it is funny. Maybe it was a poser, or maybe the real Miku-san had not thing to do. Anyway, it is funny and wierd, so please, don't detel "his" coments.
I just wanted to say that, now I'm leaving n.n —Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.168.42.76 ( talk) 02:17, 10 March 2009 (UTC)
