Cewbot - Normalize multiple issue templates

Greetings, Today I'm seeing Cewbot removing "Issues" from articles with two maintenance templates. It should not be doing this. Examples: here and here. Because the Orphan tag "disappears" after two months, does this mean article needs 3 tags to keep Orphan tag visible? Regards, JoeNMLC ( talk) 16:07, 20 April 2024 (UTC) reply

I think it's because {{ Refimprove section}} isn't in User:Cewbot/log/20150916/configuration#Maintenance template list and right, template_count_to_be_merged=3. Kanashimi ( talk) 20:22, 20 April 2024 (UTC) reply
Thanks for the answer. It was my error, I changed those two from "Refimprove section" to just "Refimprove" instead. Wondering why "Refimprove" is missing from the bot Maint. list? JoeNMLC ( talk) 13:24, 21 April 2024 (UTC) reply

Broken anchor fixes

Hi Kanashimi! I noticed Special:Diff/1219970705, and I just wanted to check whether or not this task should be running in namespaces other than mainspace. All the best :) ‍—‍ a smart kitten[ meow 07:53, 21 April 2024 (UTC) reply

Taking a brief look through Cewbot’s contribs, I’ve also noticed things like Special:Diff/1219980350, Special:Diff/1219981528 & Special:Diff/1219981912, which I’m not sure if Cewbot should be doing. All the best. ‍—‍ a smart kitten[ meow 07:59, 21 April 2024 (UTC) reply
I think this is due to the editing that occurs when the robot processes the archive page. (See Wikipedia:Bot requests/Archive 86#Fixing broken links to talk page discussions and `archive_template_list` @ User:Cewbot/log/20201008/configuration.) Perhaps we can review what the limitations are? Kanashimi ( talk) 22:42, 21 April 2024 (UTC) reply

Sometimes there is a reason for the ILL link

I just reverted this bit of silliness. I don't think a bot is capable of determining the appropriateness of an ILL. Certainly this one thought a footballer was ruling 18th-century Algiers. Elinruby ( talk) 22:43, 26 April 2024 (UTC) reply

Thanks for the report.  Fixed. Kanashimi ( talk) 00:19, 27 April 2024 (UTC) reply
How did you fix it exactly? Elinruby ( talk) 03:05, 27 April 2024 (UTC) reply
I'll list this page here. Kanashimi ( talk) 07:38, 27 April 2024 (UTC) reply
I was looking at that page. It looks like somebody already fixed "La reveil anarchiste" for you. which I was thinking of hitting as low-hanging fruit. I can fix some of the other entries probably if you want me to, but don't you want them struck from the list when they are fixed? Also, as a frequent user of the ILL template, the fact that an English-language article exists is not always a good reason for changing it IMHO.
But in this particular case, please don't list it there; all the Ottoman-era figures 9f Algiers have multiple names and somebody, possibly me, linked to the wrong one. He actually has an article at fr:Baba Abdi and I will fix the link. I remain concerned about the premise of the bot run however. Sometimes the English article is deliberately not linked to. Elinruby ( talk) 07:54, 27 April 2024 (UTC) reply
Feel free to help fix them. This page is updated once per week, and templates that have been fixed should not appear again next week.
What items do you think should not be listed? I'm sorry I'm not sure I understand. Could you describe them more plainly? Kanashimi ( talk) 08:46, 27 April 2024 (UTC) reply
Sorry, I was talking about two different things at once. I went down the list doing French as far as the end of "the affair of the cards". More about that article in a minute. But to answer your question 1) if items automagically remove themselves when fixed, that answers that question. I wasn't saying that anything should not be fixed, just that I found something that already was and was still on the list.
Oh actually I did say don't list Regency of Algiers. Yeah, please don't. I have already fixed the link over there. Actually if you can exclude this bot from that page I would appreciate it. The article has a number of naming problems, but at the moment I mostly know what they are.
My third, abstract, concern is that the bot did not pick up on the incongruity of a 20th century football player putting down a rebellion in Algiers in 1725.
Also, you may want to examine what happened with the links in Affair of the cards. The English still over-rides so that unless you change the display text you get an incorrect link followed by [fr] linking to the correct article. Finally, that article shows signs of machine translation by someone that was too trusting of default settings and I am listing it at WP:PNT as all of the links should be checked.
Lastly. where does one find this list? Thanks Elinruby ( talk) 10:20, 27 April 2024 (UTC) reply
@Elinruby: I don't think the Regency of Algiers modification was the bot's fault. Someone wrote {{Interlanguage link|Ali Abdi|fr}} in this article (I think it was originally here) so this gave the bot the (wrong) information that the Ali Abdi mentioned in the English Regency of Algiers article is the same Ali Abdi which in the French Wikipedia is the footballer fr: Ali Abdi. So logically the bot thinks – because in the English Wikipedia [[Ali Abdi]] is an unwanted link to a disambiguation page – this disambiguation link should be replaced by the footballer en:Ali Abdi (footballer) because this English article corresponds to the French fr: Ali Abdi. -- Cyfal ( talk) 11:57, 27 April 2024 (UTC) reply
