In some instances, it is clear that two pieces of text (one on Wikipedia, and one elsewhere) are copies of each other, but not clear which piece is the original and which is the copy. If it has been confirmed definitely that the content was on Wikipedia first then the {{ Backwardscopy}} template may be added to the talk page of the Wikipedia article, with an explanation of how it is known.
