Yetkulsky District ( Russian: Е́ткульский район) is an administrative and municipal district ( raion), one of the twenty-seven in Chelyabinsk Oblast, Russia. [1] It is located in the east of the oblast. The area of the district is 2,525 square kilometers (975 sq mi). [2] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Yetkul. [1] Population: 30,697 ( 2010 Russian census); [3] 30,165 ( 2002 Census); [5] 29,239 ( 1989 Soviet census). [6] The population of Yetkul accounts for 22.0% of the district's total population. [3]
