Bredinsky District ( Russian: Брединский райо́н) is an administrative and municipal district ( raion), one of the twenty-seven in Chelyabinsk Oblast, Russia. [1] It is located in the south of the oblast. The area of the district is 5,076 square kilometers (1,960 sq mi).[ citation needed] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a settlement) of Bredy. [1] Population: 28,498 ( 2010 Russian census); [2] 33,039 ( 2002 Census); [4] 30,750 ( 1989 Soviet census). [5] The population of Bredy accounts for 33.2% of the district's total population. [2]
