[1] It is located in the northwest of the oblast. The area of the district is 3,459 square kilometers (1,336 sq mi). [2] Its administrative center is the town of Nyazepetrovsk. [1] Population: 18,261 ( 2010 Russian census); [3] 21,527 ( 2002 Census); [5] 27,767 ( 1989 Soviet census). [6] The population of Nyazepetrovsk accounts for 68.2% of the district's total population.
