Yershovsky District ( Russian: Ершовский райо́н, romanized: Yershovskiy raion) is an administrative [1] and municipal [5] district ( raion), one of the thirty-eight in Saratov Oblast, Russia. It is located in the eastern central part of the oblast. The area of the district is 4,300 square kilometers (1,700 sq mi).[ citation needed] Its administrative center is the town of Yershov. [2] Population: 41,609 ( 2010 Census); [3] 50,337 ( 2002 Census); [8] 53,333 ( 1989 Soviet census). [9] The population of Yershov accounts for 51.5% of the district's total population. [3]
