What is the meaning of "来帰する" in this sentence: "三鎮陥落.広嗣軍惨敗により、豊前国の郡司層は兵を率い、続々と政府軍に来帰する。"? bamse ( talk) 09:48, 15 August 2011 (UTC)
Hi, I'm using File:Fujiwaranomichinaga.jpg in Murasaki Shikibu and realized I haven't a clue about the licensing on the file. Does the Japanese text add any useful information? Thanks. Truthkeeper ( talk) 22:27, 22 August 2011 (UTC)
Does anyone happen to know where all of these images came from? I can't find a source anywhere. Thanks. Truthkeeper ( talk) 16:51, 4 September 2011 (UTC)
The currently blocked anonymous 2.224.12.20 ( talk · contribs · WHOIS) has a history of problematic edits to articles about Germany, in which he/she repeatedly added unsourced information about administrative subdivisions that may become effective in the (distant) future, but doesn't reflect the current situation. Since he/she also edited several articles on Japanese administrative subdivisions, could someone have a look at his/her contributions? Markussep Talk 11:14, 5 September 2011 (UTC)
Hi, I'm looking for some quick translation help. The Japanese mushroom Marasmius funalis is known in Japanese as Kenawatake. Does this have an English translation? Thanks. J Milburn ( talk) 10:38, 7 September 2011 (UTC)
I believe Japanese naturalization should be merged into Japanese nationality law what does anyonee else think. Dwanyewest ( talk) 09:22, 8 September 2011 (UTC)
I'd like to see the following parameters in {{ Infobox Shinto shrine}}.
These already exist in the Japanese template, but I don't how to translate and code this kind of stuff here. Can anybody help? -- Shinkansen Fan ( talk) 06:53, 9 September 2011 (UTC)
Over on the Kono Chikyū no Heiwa o Honki de Negatterun da yo!/Kare to Issho ni Omise ga Shitai! article (a single by Morning Musume), the song title "Kare to Issho ni Omise ga Shitai!" was translated as "I want to go shopping with him!". I have commented this out in the article, as I have my doubts about whether this is an accurate translation. Apart from the fact that "kare" is more likely to mean "boyfriend" here, I have not heard of "omise ga shitai" being used to mean "go shopping", and without knowing exactly what the song is about, I would have thought that it meant "I want to start/run a shop with my boyfriend". Can any native Japanese or other knowledgeable editor confirm/check this, and possibly comment on the article's Talk page. Thanks. -- DAJF ( talk) 01:20, 10 September 2011 (UTC)
Can someone please have a look over the recently created article Maidashi (a district in Higashi-ku, Fukuoka)? It was written by a Japanese native, and appears to have been mostly machine-translated from the equivalent Japanese Wikipedia article. I had a go at cleaning up the English and removing some of the unrelated stuff myself, but the author still appears bitter about my having sent an earlier article of his to AfD and simply reverted my changes outright as "destructive". This article definitely shows potential for improvement and expansion, but it needs a native English speaker to improve the level of the writing and bring it up to a basic standard. Thanks. -- DAJF ( talk) 05:53, 10 September 2011 (UTC)
I am slightly bewildered for DAJF's claim. The reason comes from the fact as follows.
His series act
[1] consists of three elements.
① correction of the grammatical errors
② large removal
③ treating for using of pic.
For mixed three element, I cannot hide my embarrassment, for these reason I reversed it.
I agreed to ① but for ② and ③ asked him discussion of community.
Mr. Leutha, he is a reliable writer, corrects the grammatical errors now, and I think people of sound judgment will develop an appropriate response.--

Hi WikiProject Japan, I was considering running File:Tako to ama retouched.jpg through Featured Picture but I would prefer having a transcription and translation of the text in the image. The original author was Hokusai. Crisco 1492 ( talk) 13:10, 10 September 2011 (UTC)
I found an en translation at here, quoting from this page. I think the translation is fairly good. Oda Mari ( talk) 07:28, 11 September 2011 (UTC)
Just curious, but with all the many beautiful examples of ukiyo-e we have available, why something that's so overtly sexual? Truthkeeper ( talk) 13:13, 11 September 2011 (UTC)
I just started an article on Jun Henmi, who died yesterday or a couple of days ago. Request assistance on adding her name in Kanji, a link to the Japanese Wikipedia article, her birth date and place, the names of the literary awards she received, a longer list of her works, and any more details that Japanese sources might have about her life. Thank you. Cla68 ( talk) 22:27, 22 September 2011 (UTC)
Would some kind soul of this project please have a look at the edits made by 98.237.20.196? They have been making very tumultuous changes to almost every kana article. Are the edits correct or are they disruptive? Many thanks, -- Eisfbnore • talk 21:28, 24 September 2011 (UTC)
Can anyone with a better handle of Japanese than me tackle a translation of a quote? I've got the gist of it, but I'm planning on using the quote in an article and I'd like to have it be a little more precise. Here is the quote: 「オレの長い野球生活でもこんな猛打は初めてだ。諸君知っているかい?アメリカでは今日みたいなにヒットの種類を全部打つと“サイクルヒット”というのさ。こんなことは滅多にできないんだ。ヨネダも2000奪三振だって?いいことばかりだな今日は。とてもハッピーな気分だ」。 And the source if you need some context. Thanks in advance! -- Torsodog Talk 04:45, 26 September 2011 (UTC)
Greetings, I wrote a stub about Juro Oka, the "father of modern Japanese whaling"; can anyone provide a Japanese spelling of his name? And does an article on him exist on the Japanese wiki? If not, it might be worth adding a stub there, if so I'd like to see if there are any WikiCommons pics I can link to. Thanks! MatthewVanitas ( talk) 13:46, 28 September 2011 (UTC)

User:Tenmei has contributed to WP:Japan articles enormously. However Tenmei is now discussed to be banned for one year. Please see Wikipedia talk:Arbitration/Requests/Case/Senkaku Islands/Proposed decision#Concerns. Although Tenmei is some problem in editing style in contentious articles, Tenmei should not be banned without any restrictions. I would appreciate any comment there from WP:Japan participants. ―― Phoenix7777 ( talk) 10:24, 30 September 2011 (UTC)
