RfA Thanks

I have been planning thanking everyone who has participated in this RfA. I am grateful for all the comments and support, and even the criticisms, and want to express that. I had assumed the polite, and even expected, method was to thank participants on their talk pages. But per this thread on the RfA talk page I now realize that while some participants expect and appreciate "thank you" messages, others despise them and feel they are spam. So, I am stumped. I would like to thank everyone individually, and will do my best to determine who may not appreciate that sort of message. Do not feel you have to respond to this, but if you want to respond, either here or on the RfA talk page linked above, I'd be interested in your thoughts. - Kathryn NicDhàna 21:32, 21 November 2007 (UTC) reply

Entirely Optional Question from the Candidate:

Do you want to be thanked for participating in my RfA?

Yes, I like being thanked. Simply and tastefully.

  1. Is this a contradiction since I recently sent a bloated RfA thanks out to everyone? Dunno. Pigman what?/ trail 21:43, 21 November 2007 (UTC) reply
Your thankspam didn't have to be tasteful, because it was hilarious. The funniest one I've ever seen. I probably can't top it, so I'll have to go for another mood entirely ;-p - Kathryn NicDhàna 23:00, 21 November 2007 (UTC) reply
I prefer "brilliant departure from the conventional and fraught with knowing satire wrapped in humourous insight of deadly seriousness." But "hilarious" is a satisfying response as well. (and, no, of course no one actually said the quote above; like Wilde, I am forced to create what should have been said. Humph! Pigman what?/ trail 01:21, 22 November 2007 (UTC) reply
  2. Yupz. I didn't send out thankspam after my own RfA, but quietly shuffled around afterwards and thanked some people. It was mentioned at the time that it wasn't welcome, so I didn't. In retrospect, I should have. *meeps* - Alison 23:02, 21 November 2007 (UTC) reply

Yes, I like being thanked. With bells and whistles and flashing lights! The more the better! Bring it ON!

  1. I like adding new, flashy thank-yous to my RfA/RfB-thank collection. :) Acalamari 21:46, 21 November 2007 (UTC) reply
  2. I'm a big fan of creativity. My own thankyouspam was almost painfully generic (20/20 hindsight). However, I would prefer to get what you'd prefer to send, whether a flashy card, a quick note or nothing at all :) Fvasconcellos ( t· c) 22:08, 21 November 2007 (UTC) reply

No, please, no. Keep your godawful spam away from me. You're lucky I even !voted for you in the first place.
