Introduction to novel The Pass by Thomas Savage

I am active on the German language Wikipedia, but I thought it makes more sense to ask my question here. I'm currently working on several articles on the US writer Thomas Savage ( biography, also single articles on his most important novels). I'm currently working on an article on his first novel The Pass. In 2009 the book got reissued with an introduction by O. Alan Weltzien. I'm seaching for a copy of the introduction only. I already own a copy of the book from 1957, so I wouldn't want to buy the novel again just for the introduction. Sadly the 2009 version seems to be only available in the US, 2 Canadian libraries, and one in New Zealand. Going by a different reissue with an introduction by Weltzien that I own (Savage's Lona Hanson), the introduction should be roughly 12 pages long. This is the book I mean, the full information is as follows:

  • Thomas Savage (with an introduction by O. Alan Weltzien): The Pass. Drumlummon Montana literary masters series, v. 3. Helena, MT : Riverbend Publishing, Helena, MT, 2009. ISBN  9781606390016. OCLC  401395709.

Some video game reviews and catalogs

{{ stale}}

  • "Worms". Amiga Action (78). January 1996. ISSN  0957-4050.
  • "Christmas Games Guide". Computer Trade Weekly. No. 565. 1995-11-27. p. 43.
  • "Worms". PC Review (41, 49–51). United Kingdom. 1995. ISSN  0266-321X. — there must be a review of Worms in one the issues, perhaps in 50 to 51. Also there's possibly a preview of this game in the earlier issues around 41 but not in 41 itself. The reason for me believing so is that it was mentioned in The One magazine that PC Review also expressed interest in this game. Unfortunately, most 1995 issues of this magazine are unavailable online.
  • "Worms". PC Games (8). United Kingdom. 1995. ISSN  1351-0290. — there could be a preview of Worms in this one too as it was also mentioned in The One as one of the magazines that participated in testing the early version of the game. It shut down before the game was released, but there still may be a preview, presumably in its March 1995 issue (008).

Hello guys, looking for particular articles from some old game magazines. I'm writing an article about Worms 1995 video game from scratch in the Russian Wikipedia (it is going to replace the existing stub and become featured). I was able to find most of the needed sources online, but some are unavailable, like these. Maybe I will add more articles from other magazines to my request some time later, but for now it's just what you see.

Thank you very much for your efforts. And please ping me if you're able to help and/or comment anything because I barely open English Wikipedia. Please DO NOT archive this until the request is fulfilled. I requested it in Augist 2020, and I'm still in need of those, but it got archived, so I'm reopening this. The I/A also has issues 40, 41, 43, 47, 48 and 50 of PC Review here, but I don't see any mention of "Worms". — Bruce1ee talk 12:47, 30 May 2021 (UTC) reply

For Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Renewalism

I have read some articles that lightly suggest that this work may have sufficient coverage of the term "Renewalism" to justify the existence of a Wikipedia article. Unfortunately, I don't have access to the work; could someone with access take a quick look?

Thanks, BilledMammal ( talk) 04:23, 2 September 2021 (UTC) reply

BilledMammal, Brill's full text search over the volumes gives no result for the term. You can find the table of contents here and I will send you the index so you can try to identify any potentially relevant chapter. —  Pajz ( talk) 07:22, 5 September 2021 (UTC) reply
However, I can't since you haven't enabled email ( Wikipedia:Emailing users). —  Pajz ( talk) 07:23, 5 September 2021 (UTC) reply

If anybody has access to the University of Chicago Press Journals database, could they pull this article about the 2004 animated short film Proteus? It starts very near the bottom of the one page that's visible to me as a non-subscriber, so it needs somebody with full access to see if there's any additional information on the other side of the paywall that can be used to expand the article much beyond "this is a film that exists". Newspapers sources at Mike Segal

Now this will be an odd request:

There are a couple of sources in the linked article which are from an Atlantic City newspaper. I have removed links, because they appear to be to a service which is likely hosting copyright violations, as there is no way to verify whether the legitimate rights holders has provided consent for this. Since the citations are still present, as is, and since if you're unscrupulous you can go back in the article history and look at what the sources look like; somebody with more free time AND access to newspapers.com (or whichever other similar service) might be able to provide appropriate links for this which are not copyright violations.

Thanks, RandomCanadian ( talk / contribs) 00:52, 2 September 2021 (UTC) reply

@ RandomCanadian: You're right, those links you removed look very suspicious. Unfortunately, neither Newspapers.com nor NewspaperArchive.com have the Atlantic City Press. ProQuest has it, but only from 2006. NewsBank may have it, but I don't have access. — Bruce1ee talk 07:42, 2 September 2021 (UTC) reply
@ RandomCanadian: I see nothing on NewsBank. OCLC shows a few university libraries have it, but I can't imagine this is worth ILL. Compassionate727 ( T· C) 15:44, 8 September 2021 (UTC) reply
@ Compassionate727: {{ re}} doesn't appear to work (got no notification). Anyways, the idea was seeing if it is available in online databases so we can provide an alternative link that isn't a copyvio. Since that is not the case, then no further action required. @ Gazal world: to confirm, what you sent me is volume 4, not 1. It is an addenda and corrigenda section for vol. 1. I think there may be a paperback edition of vol. 1 published the same year (2005) as vol. 4. What I was looking for is not on those pages, though what you sent me is still very valuable and much appreciated, so many thanks still. Do you have any means to get the second source, Wiseman? Avilich ( talk) 18:30, 16 September 2021 (UTC) reply
@ Avilich: Ok. So you still need the pages 696-697 from #1. May be someone else from here would be able to get it for you. Regarding #2, I am waiting for the scan from library. For Esther Waters. The Davis essay looks to have been republished in The Celebrated Case of Esther Waters: The Collaboration of George Moore and Barrett H. Clark on Esther Waters: A Play (University Press of America, 1984, ISBN 0819142212), along with two versions of the play. I imagine the article version's more likely to be accessible, but in case anyone finds themselves in a library with the book, the relevant chapter would probably be just as good. –  Arms & Hearts ( talk) 15:34, 11 September 2021 (UTC) reply

Game Informer, June 1996

I am hoping that someone has a copy of the June 1996 issue of Game Informer. I am looking for information pertaining to the game Descent II, especially the review found in this issue according to the magazine's archives. Any other pages related to Descent II that may be encyclopedia-worthy would be great, but I would at least like to find out for myself whether the review has anything unique to say, or whether it is essentially just a repeat of the 23 reviews listed in the reviews infobox. Thanks in advance, Free Media Kid! 21:46, 7 June 2021 (UTC) P.S. Sorry for not giving the page numbers. I have no idea what they would be, just that the review is in the issue. It ought to have an index, however. reply

@ Avilich: Send me a wikimail for #1. -- Gazal world ( talk) 06:47, 16 September 2021 (UTC) reply
The library receives too many scan requests due to pandemic. If someone can get the #2 earlier than me, they are free to do so. -- Gazal world ( talk) 20:54, 16 September 2021 (UTC) reply

Esther Waters

{{ resolved}}
