@ C.Koltzenburg:, we don't import where the history overlaps, would you like it imported a sandbox ( User:C.Koltzenburg/Sanbox/Traveling on One Leg) where you can work on the translation prior to merging? An edit summary and article talk to refer provide attribution will be the way to go. — xaosflux Talk 18:12, 18 January 2015 (UTC)
ok, xaosflux, can you point me to an example where this method has been used?

-- C.Koltzenburg ( talk) 06:51, 19 January 2015 (UTC)

@ C.Koltzenburg:It is always messy, but what is important is that we are acknowledging the prior attributions, I suggest you translate on your page and then incorporate the changes to the main article, then ping me I'll work with you on getting the attributions in order (options include an article talk subpage for the prior attributions). In your merge-in edit use an edit summary indicating something like "updating to include translated text from de:Reisende auf einem Bein--see talk for attributions". — xaosflux Talk 14:14, 19 January 2015 (UTC)

Thanks a lot. I think i have one last question: I´ve updatet the reference 1. in the article Gas_Connect_Austria to an english source. But at the bottom of the page there is still the evidence "(in German"). how can i change this? thank you so much for the support. Ikp WIen ( talk) 09:19, 10 June 2016 (UTC)

I'll be happy to tag it appropriately, when I try to save it, though, it always wants to save as a .png, I'd rather keep the same file format. As it is fair use, that's why I seek it brought here rather than Commons.-- Kintetsubuffalo ( talk) 14:22, 2 October 2016 (UTC)

The test is translated? I don't know, what i did wrong. I have translated the text and posted it as an article. House Lemke- here is it. I entered at the first edit that this is a translation and added this info also on the discussion-site to the article. May i ask a favour? I saw that people in the english wikipedia put the house after the name, which would mean that the article better was named Lemke House instead of House Lemke - would it be possible that you rename it? Hi @ Sargoth: - sometimes people never come back, and "not done" can become "done"! We won't place German language text as the only thing in to our article space. Would you like this brought in to your sandbox so that you can translate it, then at your leisure move the page to the article space? — xaosflux Talk 19:02, 13 April 2018 (UTC)
  • Xaosflux, the article is already written in english language, as I pointed out above. Meaning that I would instantly move it to the article name space if imported to a sand box or draft area. I don't want to get blocked or banned because I contradicted a sysop who falsely claimed de:The Swiss Commission for UNESCO is writen in Klingon. I asked here because a fellow administrator asked on the administrator's requests if the article written in english language by the official account of The Swiss Commission for UNESCO could be moved into the appropriate Wikipedia, which in my eyes for an article in english language is en-WP. Sorry if I'm mistaken, case closed. Thanks, have a nice day -- Sargoth ( talk) 19:10, 13 April 2018 (UTC)

I can't in good faith wholesale replace your translation with the English article; the two will have to be merged together. I doubt that amending the current English article for any changes to the German article is particularly useful. I did a reasonably thorough translation then. Of course Kintetsubuffalo could just upload directly and apply the appropriate fair use tags if they will assert them. — xaosflux Talk 14:08, 2 October 2016 (UTC)
@ Xaosflux and Kintetsubuffalo: With importupload, I can only transfer over the file description, which isn't particularly useful. Just reuploading it manually would be fine I think. Graham 87 14:24, 2 October 2016 (UTC)
Great, can someone walk me through that? (vide alta) Side note, I sought out the original uploader, Benutzer:Ikarus81, they've made 3 edits in 7 years, so I think the original uploader being involved is not a viable route. Thanks both for getting back to me on this!-- Kintetsubuffalo ( talk) 14:27, 2 October 2016 (UTC)

I asked here because a fellow administrator asked on the administrator's requests if the article written in english language by the official account of The Swiss Commission for UNESCO could be moved into the appropriate Wikipedia, which in my eyes for an article in english language is en-WP.  Done @ Sargoth: your import has completed. Please note, in its current shape this article is likely to be nominated for deletion as it is completely unsourced. Will you be taking care of the cleanup yourself? — xaosflux Talk 19:47, 13 April 2018 (UTC)
No, but I'll inform the author. Proceed as if this page would have been directly published here. Cheers -- Sargoth ( talk) 19:51, 13 April 2018 (UTC)
information Administrator note due to many editorial issues with this article, I've moved it to Draft:The Swiss Commission for UNESCO and notified the original dewiki author. — xaosflux Talk 02:13, 14 April 2018 (UTC)

  • Note by importing administrator: @ PapeDe: Not done; please either translate the article first or let me import it into your userspace at User:PapeDe/Wolfgang Maier. (There'd be no need for the parenthetical disambiguator in this case because no Wolfgang Maiers have an article here. Graham 87 14:32, 11 April 2018 (UTC)
  • Note: @ Graham87: Ok, sorry, I'm completely new to setting up translations in Wikipedia! I'd insert the completed translation into User:PapeDe/Wolfgang Maier then. Thanks! PapeDe —Preceding undated comment added 08:11, 12 April 2018 (UTC)

Done @ PapeDe: your page is ready for you to work on the translation at User:PapeDe/Wolfgang Maier. When done you can use the "move" option to move it to article space. Best regards, — xaosflux Talk 13:14, 12 April 2018 (UTC)
  • Note: @ Xaosflux: Thanks! I finished the translation but unfortunately it seems I don't meet the requirements to move a page into article space (not enough page edits yet). Would you help me out? PapeDe —Preceding undated comment added 11:23, 17 April 2018 (UTC)
@ PapeDe: try now, I added a temporary flag to your account until you gain a few more edits. Also when signing talk posts please use 4 "~"'s not 3, so that it leave a timestamp as well as your name. Happy editing, — xaosflux Talk 12:42, 17 April 2018 (UTC)
Done @ Xaosflux: Thanks again! It's moved and linked to its German article. PapeDe ( talk) 08:05, 18 April 2018 (UTC)

  • Note by importing administrator: Not done; I can't import non-English text straight into the main namespace. @ CuriosityModifier:, would you be OK with the article being imported into your userspace for you to translate, or would you like to write the English version in the article namespace first?
