Not mentioned in the target or in any other article. Contemporary uses of "paraontology" (e.g. [1], [2]) don't seem to draw on Becker's thought. –  Arms & Hearts ( talk) 17:39, 31 May 2020 (UTC) reply

How about [3]? It seems that "paraontologie" was a neologism in German coined by Becker. [4] More a case of also needing paraontologie redirected? Anyway, no need to be deleting anything, rather than expanding the article. Charles Matthews ( talk) 18:51, 31 May 2020 (UTC) reply
If expanding the article is a possibility I'd certainly support it. Even better, I think, would be to create an article on Nahum Chandler, whose work seems to be at the centre of current uses of the term, and who presumably at least acknowledges Becker. But at the same time, it's an obscure term, and a redirect which currently provides the reader with no useful information, so I don't think deletion would be the end of the world. –  Arms & Hearts ( talk) 11:14, 1 June 2020 (UTC) reply
Really, I don't see that it is harmful. A long discussion here would be more effort than just adding a sentence or two to the article. But it is a placeholder, and why is that a problem? Charles Matthews ( talk) 11:40, 2 June 2020 (UTC) reply

The result of the discussion was retarget to OGT. (non-admin closure) feminist | freedom isn't free 02:57, 9 June 2020 (UTC) reply

The "Ogt" redirect page should be deleted. There is already an existing disambiguation page "OGT" that includes the "AGT II" page in addition to offering other suggestions, making it easier for people to access other pages with the search "ogt". Currently, "ogt" automatically redirects to the "AGT II" page and does not go to the disambiguation page. Scheng23 ( talk) 06:07, 31 May 2020 (UTC) reply

  • Retarget to DAB page OGT, tagging as {{ R from other capitalisation}} and {{ R from ambiguous term}}. There are many precedents for this, e.g. Iot is a redirect to DAB page IOT. Narky Blert ( talk) 13:23, 31 May 2020 (UTC) reply
Sounds reasonable to me. Scheng23 ( talk) 02:12, 1 June 2020 (UTC) reply
  • Weak retarget to OGT per Narky, though there is an argument for WP:DIFFCAPS. Second choice keep as is. J947 [cont] 18:55, 1 June 2020 (UTC) reply
  • Delete if the search engine would then direct the user right to the OGT disambiguation page. That page would also need an adjustment, since the redirect appears there. Redirecting would have the same effect, though, just an extra step invisible to the user.— Anne Delong ( talk) 10:57, 3 June 2020 (UTC) reply

@ Narky Blert: I wouldn't consider those to be ambiguous terms. Rather, they appear to be examples of a class, all of which are or should be covered in Cultural references to donkeys. BD2412 T 23:30, 31 May 2020 (UTC) reply
@ BD2412: I like the idea, but can't see an easy way of accommodating the idea in Cultural references to donkeys. Nonetheless, my draft DAB feels like disambiguation between examples of a concept rather than titles.
There's also " Der Kuckuck und der Esel" (a singing contest between a cuckoo and a donkey) and the folk song "Lob des hohen Verstandes" ( transl. "In Praise of High Intellect", a singing competition between a cuckoo and a nightingale in which the cuckoo disingenuously proposed a donkey as arbiter). The latter poem was included by Achim and Brentano in their collection Des Knaben Wunderhorn, and was set to music by Gustav Mahler in his song collection also called Des Knaben Wunderhorn. @ OcelotCreeper: CSD is only for the most unambiguous of scenarios. Given a reputable website has made this particular mistake, this is by no means an unambiguous scenario. From CSD: Administrators should take care not to speedily delete pages or media except in the most obvious cases. Also, please adhere to MOS:LISTGAP. J947 [cont] 18:52, 1 June 2020 (UTC) reply

  • Keep. Sports Reference has a fair amount of these errors, which makes the redirects more justified than a regular misspelling, not less. A reader could easily search for one of these incorrect names and they will have no idea what is happening if it's a redlink. See Yasumasu Nishino, Shizuki Narahara, Keisuke Satsuke, Tsutomuko Mitsudome for other instances. — Xezbeth ( talk) 04:47, 7 June 2020 (UTC) reply

  • Retarget to OGT seems to be the most reasonable solution for this. No need to delete. CycloneYoris talk! 06:33, 8 June 2020 (UTC) reply

Finding no evidence this is a term used commonly, most of what I'm turning up is on Pinterest, although it is used in a publication titled "Transvestigation In Hollywood (Illuminati Secrets Revealed, #2)", which also doesn't seem reliable. Hog Farm ( talk) 04:34, 31 May 2020 (UTC) reply
