I think you've misunderstood the nature of username changes; we can rename existing accounts to a new name that does not exist. We can't merge several other accounts into an existing account. Additionally, rename requests must be made from the account being renamed for security reasons. Essjay ( TalkConnect) 02:34, 3 May 2006 (UTC) reply

Myasuda

I have two recent contributions that did not get recorded to my account because I forgot to login when I made updates to the articles. If possible, I'd like them to be added to the "Myasuda" account:

1. 204.210.16.43 edited an article on Tom Burleson on 05/02/2006

2. 204.210.18.220 edited an article on Wataru Misaka on 04/07/2006

Thanks.

Unfortunately, we cannot perform such requests. We can change the username of a logged-in account, but we cannot reattribute edits from non-accounts (IP addresses). Essjay ( TalkConnect) 05:10, 3 May 2006 (UTC) reply

Fiat Lux

I would like to rename User:Thatcher131 to Fiat Lux ( talk · contribs); however, Fiat Lux seems to have been created but has no edits. Is this possible? Alternatively Fiat lux ( talk · contribs) is available but will that be disqualified because of the similarity (even though the caps version is unused)? Thanks. Thatcher131 21:08, 5 May 2006 (UTC) reply

Yes, that would create a confusion if Fiat Lux decides to edit in the future. Request not fulfilled. Please choose another username. Regards, =Nichalp «Talk»= 08:55, 6 May 2006 (UTC) reply

Polaris

Please change User:Polaris999 to User:Polaris. Most Wikipedians refer to me as "Polaris", so I would like to make that my real username. Many thanks -- Polaris999 06:19, 7 May 2006 (UTC) reply

Polaris exists. Please go through the instructions above to check if a username exists. Regards, =Nichalp «Talk»= 06:27, 7 May 2006 (UTC) reply

When I clicked on the name "Polaris" which came up when I did the Listserv search, the following was displayed:

Error From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Jump to: navigation, search The database did not find the text of a page that it should have found, named "User:Polaris (Diff: 0, 0)".

This might be because no page has yet been created with this name, in which case you can start it by clicking the "edit this page" link.

If it is a recently changed page, trying again in a minute or two will usually work. Alternatively, you may have followed an outdated diff or history link to a page that has been deleted.

If this is not the case, you may have found a bug in the software. Please report this using the procedure given at Wikipedia:Bug_reports, making note of the URL.

Because of this, I concluded that there was no User:Polaris. Sorry! Polaris999 06:47, 7 May 2006 (UTC) reply

That's odd cause it's working fine now. Regards, =Nichalp «Talk»= 07:46, 7 May 2006 (UTC) reply
