Function overview: Remove disambiguation pages from Category:Monitored short pages
Automatic, Supervised, or Manual: Automatic
Programming language(s): PHP
Source code available:
Links to relevant discussions (where appropriate): Template talk:Long comment#Usage on pages that don't appear on ShortPages, Template talk:Short pages monitor#Add by default to DAB pages?
Edit period(s): One time run, followed by periodic runs as needed to keep the category clean
Estimated number of pages affected: 53,400 (initial run)
Namespace(s): Mainspace
Exclusion compliant (Yes/No): No
Function details: This is a followup task to task 5. Remove the text added by {{ subst:long comment}} from disambiguation pages (members of Category:All article disambiguation pages) listed in Category:Monitored short pages; since this January 2016 MediaWiki update these pages no longer need this text to keep the page off the top of the Special:ShortPages listings. As with task 5, there is no reason to make this process exclusion compliant. Category:Monitored short pages currently has about 64,700 members; removing around 53,400 of them will leave about 11,300 members, ~300 of which are disambiguation pages whose long comment string does not conform with the string left by {{ subst:long comment}} (either because it was manually placed or edited by someone later). These will be removed later, either manually or tweaking the set of long-comment strings recognized by the bot. The remaining ~11,000 category members are things like set index articles or soft redirects (e.g. {{ Wiktionary redirect}}).
