The Organizations WikiProject is currently building a new framework for the Organizations
category! We are planning to add all notable organizations by location, subject, and year from the "bottom-up", as well as move existing pages into the new scheme from the "top-down". Feel free to add content below, or share your thoughts on the
Categorization Taskforce discussion page.
Welcome to the Organizations WikiProject on the English Wikipedia! We are a
group dedicated to improving Wikipedia's coverage of local, regional and international
organizations. If you would like to join us, please feel free to
add your name to the
list of project members!
Scope and goals
Goals
To provide guidelines and recommendations for articles that describe organizations.
To improve Wikipedia's coverage of organizations by creating, expanding, and maintaining such articles.
To develop and maintain a featured quality portal, with an intuitive system of navigation templates, as well as various infoboxes and an integrated assessment process for articles.
To serve as the central point of discussion for issues related to organizations in Wikipedia.
You can look at the project's
popular pages list to identify particularly high-profile articles that could be improved.
Structure
Modelled after
WP:WARS, internally the project will develop several structural features to help in managing its extensive work:
Coordinators, who are responsible for maintaining the administrative aspects of the project.
Departments, which coordinate work on certain specialized tasks, such as the (now-deleted) Portal:Organizations, article assessment, peer review, or other project-wide collaboration.
Task forces, which are more informal groups for collaboration on specific areas of organizations, such as particular locations, regions, or types.
Relevant guidelines for developing articles on organizations:
WP:ORGS/Guidelines
Bulletin board
The
Bulletin Board is for announcement of issues, ongoing disputes or *FDs, problems, proposed new projects, etc.
Departments and task forces
Task force pages should be set up to handle issues with the organizations categories structure, infoboxes, notability standards, and other issues. For now, these are lists of tasks that need to be done that could eventually become a taskforce.
This is a list of recognized content, updated weekly by

tagged or
categorized (e.g.
Category:WikiProject Organizations articles) correctly and wait for the next update. See
WP:RECOG for configuration options.
