This is a set of accounts (already blocked) by an IP editor who has been disruptively changing data in dog articles, making very recognizable edits with very recognizable edit summaries. Yngvadottir and others have tried to discuss this with the person but to no avail, and what's left is blocks and semi-protection.

With a bit of time we could produce a long list of IPs that have been used, but there's little point to it--there's a fair amount of hopping. They use regular IPs and IPv6s; I have listed a few, but there are dozens. I haven't attempted geolocation for all of them but the ones I looked at point to Philadelphia. Recently, perhaps because I've semi-protected a number of articles, they started creating accounts; I do not know if John Kwiecinski is actually the earliest account and that is one of the reason I'm asking for CU. Another is that this recent habit of creating sock accounts is potentially more disruptive than the rather easily recognizable IP edits.

Editors who are in the know, to a greater or lesser extent, are Sagaciousphil, Hafspajen, Favonian. Admins and editors who have recently blocked and reverted include Graham87, GB fan, DVdm. Drmies ( talk) 17:28, 2 April 2015 (UTC) reply

  • I was just looking at some unusual edits made to mainly dog articles in the last couple of days by another new account Canary27; not the same type of edits or edit summaries but generally messing about and adding (unnecessary) subheadings. I have added it to the list above as when I checked the (odd) user sandbox it refers to Rottweiler3. So it may also warrant checking but please remove if I'm just getting paranoid ... or if I shouldn't have added this - sorry, I don't know the correct procedures. Dogster is already blocked. Please check for other sleepers: they have been using at least a half a dozen very different IP addresses recently; I blocked a few of them. A CU might be able to find accounts, but they couldn't publish them as that would link names to numbers. This individual has been using only IP addresses for this year. Of course, a CU has access to a lot more data than we do, so what they do (if anything) will be based on that. I'm not a clerk, I don't accept or decline CU requests, I'm just another admin. Checkuser requested because this person often creates multiple accounts. Captain Lloyd Banks is doing the same things as previous dog-and-rapper vandal socks, for instance posting the height of a rapper, [3] [4] and performing the same edits as previous sock accounts or IPs. Regarding the case being stale, it seems to me that Ponyo has been quietly blocking a bunch of registered accounts via checkuser, accounts that have been doing similar things as this sockmaster. And Ponyo blocked King Neptune's Trident specifically naming this case. Below is a list of the user names I can find that have been blocked by Ponyo via checkuser but without a master specified, ones that have been editing rapper biographies.
