Suspected sockpuppets

Edits all focus on the Hazaras. HazaraHistorian was blocked for adding original research to articles and claiming historical figures or polities were Hazara, then ignoring warnings not to do so. General313 was given one warning for the exact same behaviour. The two accounts were made a week apart, and over at Talk:Ghaznavids, both accounts requested (back-to-back, without sources) that a change be made to describe the Hazaras as the definite descendants of the Ghaznivids. As seen the history section of the article [1]: On 28 June, HazaraHistorian created the Battle Of Unai Pass article. A day after it was blanked by Broski.tajik (now indeffed). Barely an hour later, General313 appeared and reverted Broski.tajik. While blanking the article was obviously not constructive, the coincidence sure is interesting, how General313 appears shortly after in an article just created. Suspected sockpuppets

  1. HazaraHistorian got indeffed on 30 July, Shah of persia made their first edit shortly after - on 4 August.
  2. For someone having such an Iranian and royal name as "Shah of persia", they sure are interested in something completely else: connecting the Hazaras to Turks, just like HazaraHistorian. Perhaps they got the name as an inspiration from me as I created the ANI thread that led to their block [4]
  3. Shah of persia attempted to connect the Arghun dynasty with the Hazaras (which is frankly bizarre) [5] just like HazaraHistorian [6]. Both used poor sources, and as seen in the ANI thread, HazaraHistorian didn't have the best grasp of how sources worked either
  4. Both also attempted to connect the Qarlughids with the Hazaras [7] [8]
  5. As also seen in the ANI thread, HazaraHistorian is also friends with a sockpuppeteer, thus it wouldn't surprise me if they started socking too. HistoryofIran ( talk) 02:20, 13 August 2023 (UTC) reply

IP range continued the edits of HazaraHistorian at Qarlugh (Hazara tribe) after the latters block [9] as well as reverting me and restoring HazaraHistorians edit [10] here [11]. At Karluks, they immediately reverted me [12], restoring the POV pushing WP:OR edit type which HazaraHistorian has been pushing in other articles, such as the first article. IP range also gelocates to the exact same location as another IP [13] used by HazaraHistorian, which they clearly used as seen in the ANI thread [14] - HistoryofIran ( talk) 23:07, 13 August 2023 (UTC) reply

HazaraHistorians now blocked IP 175.106.53.155 appeared right after the first edits of brand new user Siggs savache at Hazarajat, trying to support them in the talk page [15] and making more or less the same edit [16] [17].   • Unfortunately, Siggs savache has made only 3 edits, and although those edits do look as though that may be another sockpuppet, that is not enough evidence to decide one way or the other, as far as I can see. JBW ( talk) 20:54, 12 October 2023 (UTC) reply
  • I agree that this is suspicious but I'm going to close it for now per JBW. Either the account stops editing, in which case it doesn't matter whether or not they are blocked, or they continue to edit and provide more behavioural evidence one way or the other. Suspected sockpuppets

Brand new account created on 15 August 2023, around the same time HazaraHistorian was still socking as seen in the previous SPIs.

Incredibly similar edit and edit summary (they both wrongly use the word "vandalism" and point out the references) [18] [19]

Behsudii was also randomly hostile towards me for no one reason [20], that wouldn't happen to because I reported HazaraHistorian at ANI and making SPI reports of his socks?

Behsudii also (wrongly) cites the same source (Mousavi) [21] just like HazaraHistorian [22]. Mousavi is not the most well known author, so I doubt this is a coincidence.

Brontexas restored the [23] edit of a IP sock of HazaraHistorian [24]. This attempt to push the Hazaras as Turkic has so far only been done by HazaraHistorian.

  • Although Behsudii has done only a small amount of editing, I have found a large enough number of coincidences to persuade me that the account is a sockpuppet of HazaraHistorian. My inclination is to block, but I will wait to see whether a CU takes place. However, in view of the CU comments last time, there may be nothing to be found from another one this time.   • Behsudii has been editing, in part, from VPN/proxies, but I'm sufficiently persuaded that the account is operated by the same person as HazaraHistorian and Shah of persia. Brontexas, on the other hand, is  Inconclusive, as he's editing from only one seemingly unrelated IP, which is not being flagged as a proxy, though I'm suspicious. Account took a break after the last filing, only to come back with another couple of edits connecting Hazaras and Turkic peoples implicitly, as in the layout change, and explicitly, as in the edit summary. At Karluks, they made a incredibly similar edit [25] [26] as the IP sock of HazaraHistorian who was blocked for block evasion [27], both citing the same non- WP:RS site "mundigak.com" and trying to push certain Hazara tribes as "Karluk" HistoryofIran ( talk) 13:53, 20 January 2024 (UTC) reply

Brand new account created on 15 August 2023, around the same time HazaraHistorian was still socking as seen in the previous SPIs.

Incredibly similar edit and edit summary (they both wrongly use the word "vandalism" and point out the references) [18] [19]
