Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{ NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery ( talk) 00:37, 28 November 2023 (UTC) reply

@ Tynewyrd: Thank you for assessing Bellaire Goblet Company. Is there anything obvious that I need to fix to get it up to B-Class. TwoScars ( talk) 15:41, 1 December 2023 (UTC) reply

Hi TwoScars, thank you for your message.
The article is suitably referenced with in-line citations, however, I note that you have included a list of both in-line citations and a separate list of bulleted references. Numerous references within the bulleted list could be cited as relevant secondary sources within the inline citations of the article.
If you have not referred to any of the bulleted references within the original text, it may help readers understand whether this list merely points the reader to additional resources. Some clarity on this would be helpful. Tynewyrd ( talk) 08:19, 4 December 2023 (UTC) reply
@ Tynewyrd: The References and Citations are all done in Wikipedia's Harvard style. (see MOS citing sources) Each citation (that is from a book or journal) corresponds with the books and journals listed in the Reference section. Thus, all of the "bulleted references" are referred to with a citation in the text or footnotes. The References are NOT items to point to additional resources—that would go under a "Further reading" section. TwoScars ( talk) 19:50, 4 December 2023 (UTC) reply

Bare URL templates

Hi Tynewyrd! I've noticed that you've added bare URL templates to various articles, including International Culinary Center and Horizon Coach Lines, where it doesn't appear that there are any bare URLs on the page. Is there something I'm missing (which wouldn't be a surprise)? :Jay8g [ VTE 10:01, 15 January 2024 (UTC) reply

Hi :Jay8g, thanks for your message.
My apologies if I have been incorrectly using the wrong template. I have noticed on these pages that the references are not correctly cited - with only the article or page title (linked) or certain URLs no longer work, redirect to a 404 error page or deadline. For instance, on the Horizon Coach Lines page, a reference is listed as Academy Bus LLC-Acquisition of the Properties of Evergreen Trails Inc. d/b/a Horizon Coach Lines but the reference could be better referenced within the reference templates provided by Wiki to maintain consistence in referencing style. Tynewyrd ( talk) 10:18, 15 January 2024 (UTC) reply
I see. I think the templates you're looking for would be {{ Citation style}} (or in some cases {{ Format footnotes}}) for general banners, or {{ Dead link}} to tag specific links that are dead. {{ Cleanup bare URLs}} is for links formatted just as plain URLs, such as https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2015/03/05/2015-05080/academy-bus-llc-acquisition-of-the-properties-of-evergreen-trails-inc-dba-horizon-coach-lines or [1].
