Thanks for uploading File:LUFootballPan09112010.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Orphaned non-free image File:LUlogowhitebkgrd.png

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:LUlogowhitebkgrd.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hammersoft ( talk) 14:44, 8 September 2011 (UTC) reply

Non-free rationale for File:LUlogowhitebkgrd.png

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:LUlogowhitebkgrd.png. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the " my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Commons photos-Museums and Beaumont homes

Do I have this correct that you are Reagan Rothenberger over on Commons? I have been enjoying the beautiful photography. I have a question about the photos of homes in Beaumont. You have them uploaded by files named HistHouse and then a number. Would you mind taking a look at National Register of Historic Places listings in Jefferson County, Texas, and see if any of your photos are these listings? If so, could you please rename the files(s) over on Commons to match the NRHP names? It would be helpful to anyone wanting to create the matching article. Thanks for your attention to this.

Also do you have any photos on Commons that match anything on List of museums in Beaumont-Port Arthur metropolitan area, Texas. Maile66 ( talk) 15:05, 30 January 2012 (UTC) reply

I'm not Reagan, I also took a few photos of Downtown when I lived there though. ThomasHorn7 ( talk) 21:23, 11 December 2012 (UTC) reply

A tag has been placed on Houston Dynamo Development Academy requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Burdens of proof

I'm responding to a comment you made on Walter Görlitz' talk page, here [1]: "Instead of reverting my edit why don't you check to see if the original text was correct. You make wikipedia worse when you revert changes without validating they're wrong."

You've only edited three articles so far this year, and I couldn't find any reverts by WG, so I don't know what edits you're referring to. Was it an edit you made under a different name, or through an IP address?

Anyway, I was inspired to respond to this because the burden of proof should lie with the editor that made the assertion (if you can point to the edits you're referring to, I can see whether or not they were made with sources or explanations). I do a poor job of sourcing my own contributions, so I don't begrudge an editor the lazy way out, but on the flip side, editors should be allowed to challenge additions without criticism that they haven't done the work to verify. We're all volunteers, and between the ideal that all assertions should be sourced, and the ideal that all contributions should be taken as good faith, lies the practical reality that the value of an edit lies in whether or not the community accepts it. If you believe the edit is an improvement, and think it's worth the trouble, work harder to have it remain unchallenged. My two cents. Willondon ( talk) 20:32, 15 August 2015 (UTC) reply

This was the edit I made and Oknazevad reverted and correctly pointed-out " That's not what the source says. The window for 2015 was July 8 – August 6". I already knew the issue and did not need to be corrected. My first edit was immediately after an anon's edit. Clearly a case of not signing in and the responding when signed in. Walter Görlitz ( talk) 22:16, 15 August 2015 (UTC) reply
You're right the burden should be on the editor. Walter Gorlitz did not actually read the source, so when he reverted my edit he actually made the article less accurate. Again, the politics of editing pages on here is ridiculous. ThomasHorn7 ( talk) 22:24, 15 August 2015 (UTC) reply

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. 2019 US Banknote Contest

US Banknote Contest
November-December 2019

There are an estimated 30,000 different varieties of United States banknotes, yet only a fraction of these are represented on Wikimedia Commons in the form of 2D scans. Additionally, Colonial America, the Confederate States, the Republic of Texas, multiple states and territories, communities, and private companies have issued banknotes that are in the public domain today but are absent from Commons.

In the months of November and December, WikiProject Numismatics will be running a cross-wiki upload-a-thon, the 2019 US Banknote Contest. The goal of the contest is to increase the number of US banknote images available to content creators on all Wikimedia projects. Participants will claim points for uploading and importing 2D scans of US banknotes, and at the end of the contest all will receive awards. Whether you want to claim the Gold Wiki or you just want to have fun, all are invited to participate.

If you do not want to receive invitations to future US Banknote Contests, follow the instructions here

Thank you. Hammersoft ( talk) 14:44, 8 September 2011 (UTC) reply

Edits not showing up

Why are my edits not showing up? It makes no sense for me to be on some type of review list, all of my edits are cited. ThomasHorn7 ( talk) 15:23, 25 September 2011 (UTC) reply

It looks to me like your edits on Kunming University of Science and Technology were unfortunately missing a closing </ref> tag, which can cause some text to go "missing". Since then, another editor has added the missing tag. Does that solve your issue? If it doesn't, feel free to place another {{ helpme}} request. – Luna Santin ( talk) 01:47, 26 September 2011 (UTC) reply
